സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 8

1 സംഗീതപ്രമാണിക്കു ഗത്ത്യരാഗത്തിൽ; ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കർത്താവായ യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ നാമം ഭൂമിയിലൊക്കെയും എത്ര ശ്രേഷ്ഠമായിരിക്കുന്നു! നീ ആകാശത്തിൽ നിന്റെ തേജസ്സു വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

Yahweh, our Lord, people all over the world know that you [MTY] are very great! Your glory reaches up higher than the heavens!

2 നിന്റെ വൈരികൾനിമിത്തം, ശത്രുവിനെയും പകയനെയും മിണ്ടാതാക്കുവാൻ തന്നേ, നീ ശിശുക്കളുടെയും മുലകുടിക്കുന്നവരുടെയും വായിൽനിന്നു ബലം നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

You have taught little children and infants to praise you; they cause your enemies and those who try to (get revenge on/get rid of) you to be silent.

3 നിന്റെ വിരലുകളുടെ പണിയായ ആകാശത്തെയും നീ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ ചന്ദ്രനെയും നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെയും നോക്കുമ്പോൾ,

When I look up at the sky [at night], and see the things that you have made— the moon and the stars that you have set in place—

4 മർത്യനെ നീ ഓർക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻഎന്തു? മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെ സന്ദർശിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ എന്തുമാത്രം?

it is amazing [to me] that [RHQ] you think about people, that you are concerned about [us] humans!

5 നീ അവനെ ദൈവത്തെക്കാൾ അല്പം മാത്രം താഴ്ത്തി, തേജസ്സും ബഹുമാനവും അവനെ അണിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

You made the angels in heaven to be only a little more important than we are; you caused us to be like kings [MET] and you gave us splendor and honor [DOU]!

6 നിന്റെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾക്കു നീ അവനെ അധിപതിയാക്കി, സകലത്തെയും അവന്റെ കാൽകീഴെയാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു;

You put us in charge of everything that you made; you gave us authority over all things—

7 ആടുകളെയും കാളകളെയും എല്ലാം കാട്ടിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെയൊക്കെയും

the sheep and the cattle, and even the wild animals,

8 ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളെയും സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യങ്ങളെയും സമുദ്രമാർഗ്ഗങ്ങളിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന സകലത്തെയും തന്നേ.

the birds, the fish, and everything [else] that swims in the seas.

9 ഞങ്ങളുടെ കർത്താവായ യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ നാമം ഭൂമിയിലൊക്കെയും എത്ര ശ്രേഷ്ഠമായിരിക്കുന്നു!

Yahweh, our Lord, people all over the world know that you [MTY] are very great!
