സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 73
1 ആസാഫിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീർത്തനം. ദൈവം യിസ്രായേലിന്നു, നിർമ്മലഹൃദയമുള്ളവർക്കു തന്നേ, നല്ലവൻ ആകുന്നു നിശ്ചയം.
“BOOK III. A psalm of Asaph.” Truly God is good to Israel, —To those who are pure in heart.
2 എന്നാൽ എന്റെ കാലുകൾ ഏകദേശം ഇടറി; എന്റെ കാലടികൾ ഏറക്കുറെ വഴുതിപ്പോയി.
Yet my feet almost gave way; My steps had well nigh slipped:
3 ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ സൗഖ്യം കണ്ടിട്ടു എനിക്കു അഹങ്കാരികളോടു അസൂയ തോന്നി.
For I was envious of the proud, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 അവർക്കു വേദന ഒട്ടുമില്ലല്ലോ; അവരുടെ ദേഹം തടിച്ചുരുണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
For they have no pains even to their death; Their bodies are in full health.
5 അവർ മർത്യരെപ്പോലെ കഷ്ടത്തിൽ ആകുന്നില്ല; മറ്റു മനുഷ്യരെപ്പോലെ ബാധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതുമില്ല.
They have not the woes of other men, Neither are they smitten like other men.
6 ആകയാൽ ഡംഭം അവർക്കു മാലയായിരിക്കുന്നു; ബലാല്ക്കാരം വസ്ത്രംപോലെ അവരെ ചുറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
Therefore pride encircleth their neck as a collar; Violence covereth them as a garment.
7 അവരുടെ കണ്ണുകൾ പുഷ്ടികൊണ്ടു ഉന്തിനില്ക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ നിരൂപണങ്ങൾ കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്നു.
From their bosom issueth their iniquity; The designs of their hearts burst forth.
8 അവർ പരിഹസിച്ചു ദുഷ്ടതയോടെ ഭീഷണി പറയുന്നു; ഉന്നതഭാവത്തോടെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.
They mock, and speak of malicious oppression; Their words are haughty;
9 അവർ വായ് ആകാശത്തോളം ഉയർത്തുന്നു; അവരുടെ നാവു ഭൂമിയിൽ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു.
They stretch forth their mouth to the heavens, And their tongue goeth through the earth;
10 അതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻതന്റെ ജനത്തെ ഇതിലേക്കു തിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ ധാരാളം വെള്ളം വലിച്ചുകുടിക്കുന്നു.
Therefore his people walk in their ways, And there drink from full fountains.
11 ദൈവം എങ്ങനെ അറിയുന്നു? അത്യുന്നതന്നു അറിവുണ്ടോ? എന്നു അവർ പറയുന്നു.
And they say, “How doth God know? How can there be knowledge with the Most High?”
12 ഇങ്ങനെ ആകുന്നു ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ; അവർ നിത്യം സ്വസ്ഥത അനുഭവിച്ചു സമ്പത്തു വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
Behold these are the ungodly! Yet they are ever prosperous; they heap up riches.
13 എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചതും എന്റെ കൈകളെ കുറ്റമില്ലായ്മയിൽ കഴുകിയതും വ്യർത്ഥമത്രേ.
Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain; In vain have I washed my hands in innocence.
14 ഞാൻ ഇടവിടാതെ ബാധിതനായിരുന്നു; ഉഷസ്സുതോറും ദണ്ഡിക്കപ്പെട്ടും ഇരുന്നു.
For every day have I been smitten; Every morn have I been chastened.
15 ഞാൻ ഇങ്ങനെ സംസാരിപ്പാൻ വിചാരിച്ചെങ്കിൽ ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മക്കളുടെ തലമുറയോടു ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്യുമായിരുന്നു.
If I should resolve to speak like them, Surely I should be treacherous to the family of thy children.
16 ഞാൻ ഇതു ഗ്രഹിപ്പാൻ നിരൂപിച്ചപ്പോൾ എനിക്കു പ്രയാസമായി തോന്നി;
So, when I studied to know this, It was painful to my eyes;
17 ഒടുവിൽ ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധ മന്ദിരത്തിൽ ചെന്നു അവരുടെ അന്തം എന്താകും എന്നു ചിന്തിച്ചു.
Until I went into the sanctuaries of God, And considered what was their end.
18 നിശ്ചയമായി നീ അവരെ വഴുവഴുപ്പിൽ നിർത്തുന്നു; നീ അവരെ നാശത്തിൽ തള്ളിയിടുന്നു.
Behold! thou hast set them on slippery places; Thou castest them down into unseen pits.
19 എത്ര ക്ഷണത്തിൽ അവർ ശൂന്യമായ്പോയി! അവർ മെരുൾചകളാൽ അശേഷം മുടിഞ്ഞുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു.
How are they brought to desolation in a moment, And utterly consumed with sudden destruction!
20 ഉണരുമ്പോൾ ഒരു സ്വപ്നത്തെപ്പോലെ കർത്താവേ, നീ ഉണരുമ്പോൾ അവരുടെ രൂപത്തെ തുച്ഛീകരിക്കും.
As a dream when one awaketh, Thou, O Lord! when thou awakest, wilt make their vain show a derision.
21 ഇങ്ങനെ എന്റെ ഹൃദയം വ്യസനിക്കയും എന്റെ അന്തരംഗത്തിൽ കുത്തുകൊള്ളുകയും ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ
When my heart was vexed And I was pierced in my reins,
22 ഞാൻ പൊട്ടനും ഒന്നും അറിയാത്തവനും ആയിരുന്നു; നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ മൃഗംപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു.
Then was I stupid and without understanding; I was like one of the brutes before thee.
23 എന്നിട്ടും ഞാൻ എപ്പോഴും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എന്നെ വലങ്കൈക്കു പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
Yet am I ever under thy care; By my right hand thou dost hold me up.
24 നിന്റെ ആലോചനയാൽ നീ എന്നെ നടത്തും; പിന്നെത്തേതിൽ മഹത്വത്തിലേക്കു എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളും.
Thou wilt guide me with thy counsel, And at last receive me in glory.
25 സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ എനിക്കു ആരുള്ളു? ഭൂമിയിലും നിന്നെയല്ലാതെ ഞാൻ ഒന്നും ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല.
Whom have I in heaven but thee, And whom on earth do I love in comparison with thee?
26 എന്റെ മാംസവും ഹൃദയവും ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; ദൈവം എന്നേക്കും എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ പാറയും എന്റെ ഓഹരിയും ആകുന്നു.
Though my flesh and my heart fail, God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
27 ഇതാ, നിന്നോടു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നവർ നശിച്ചുപോകും; നിന്നെ വിട്ടു പരസംഗം ചെയ്യുന്ന എല്ലാവരെയും നീ സംഹരിക്കും.
For, lo! they who are far from thee perish; Thou destroyest all who estrange themselves from thee.
28 എന്നാൽ ദൈവത്തോടു അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു എനിക്കു നല്ലതു; നിന്റെ സകലപ്രവൃത്തികളെയും വർണ്ണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിനെ എന്റെ സങ്കേതമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
But it is good for me to draw near to God; I put my trust in the Lord Jehovah, That I may declare all thy works.
