സങ്കീർത്തനങ്ങൾ 120

1 ആരോഹണഗീതം. എന്റെ കഷ്ടതയിൽ ഞാൻ യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അവൻ എനിക്കു ഉത്തരം അരുളുകയും ചെയ്തു.

A Song of degrees. In my trouble I called unto Jehovah, and he answered me.

2 യഹോവേ, വ്യാജമുള്ള അധരങ്ങളെയും വഞ്ചനയുള്ള നാവിനെയും തടുത്തു എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ.

Jehovah, deliver my soul from the lying lip, from the deceitful tongue.

3 വഞ്ചനയുള്ള നാവേ, നിനക്കു എന്തു വരും? നിനക്കു ഇനി എന്തു കിട്ടും?

What shall be given unto thee, what shall be added unto thee, thou deceitful tongue?

4 വീരന്റെ മൂർച്ചയുള്ള അസ്ത്രങ്ങളും പൂവത്തിൻ കനലും തന്നേ.

Sharp arrows of a mighty one, with burning coals of broom-wood.

5 ഞാൻ മേശെക്കിൽ പ്രവാസം ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും കേദാർകൂടാരങ്ങളിൽ പാർക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും എനിക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

6 സമാധാനദ്വേഷിയോടുകൂടെ പാർക്കുന്നതു എനിക്കു മതിമതിയായി.

My soul hath long dwelt with them that hate peace.

7 ഞാൻ സമാധാനപ്രിയനാകുന്നു; ഞാൻ സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോഴോ അവർ കലശൽ തുടങ്ങുന്നു.

I [am for] peace; but when I speak, they [are] for war.
