സദൃശവാക്യങ്ങൾ 7
1 മകനേ, എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ പ്രമാണിച്ചു എന്റെ കല്പനകളെ നിന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊൾക.
My son, keep my words and store up my commands within yourself.
2 നീ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ കല്പനകളെയും ഉപദേശത്തെയും നിന്റെ കണ്ണിന്റെ കൃഷ്ണമണിയെപ്പോലെ കാത്തുകൊൾക.
Keep my commands and live and keep my instruction as the apple of your eye.
3 നിന്റെ വിരലിന്മേൽ അവയെ കെട്ടുക; ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ പലകയിൽ എഴുതുക.
Tie them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 ജ്ഞാനത്തോടു: നീ എന്റെ സഹോദരി എന്നു പറക; വിവേകത്തിന്നു സഖി എന്നു പേർ വിളിക്ക.
Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call understanding your kinsman,
5 അവ നിന്നെ പരസ്ത്രീയുടെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നും ചക്കരവാക്കു പറയുന്ന അന്യസ്ത്രീയുടെ വശത്തുനിന്നും കാക്കും.
in order to keep yourself from the adulterous woman, from the immoral woman with her smooth words.
6 ഞാൻ എന്റെ വീട്ടിന്റെ കിളിവാതില്ക്കൽ അഴിക്കിടയിൽകൂടി നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ

7 ഭോഷന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ കണ്ടു; യൗവനക്കാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ബുദ്ധിഹീനനായോരു യുവാവിനെ കണ്ടറിഞ്ഞു.
I looked at the naive people, and I noticed among the young men a youth who had no sense.
8 അവൻ വൈകുന്നേരം, സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തു, ഇരുട്ടും അന്ധകാരവുമുള്ള ഒരു രാത്രിയിൽ,
That young man passed down the street near her corner, and he went toward her house.
9 അവളുടെ വീട്ടിന്റെ കോണിന്നരികെ വീഥിയിൽകൂടി കടന്നു, അവളുടെ വീട്ടിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയെ നടന്നു ചെല്ലുന്നു.
It was twilight, in the evening of the day, at the time of night and darkness.
10 പെട്ടെന്നു ഇതാ, വേശ്യാവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചും ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഉപായം പൂണ്ടും ഉള്ളോരു സ്ത്രീ അവനെ എതിരേറ്റുവരുന്നു.

11 അവൾ മോഹപരവശയും തന്നിഷ്ടക്കാരത്തിയും ആകുന്നു; അവളുടെ കാൽ വീട്ടിൽ അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കയില്ല.
She was loud and wayward; her feet did not stay at home.
12 ഇപ്പോൾ അവളെ വീഥിയിലും പിന്നെ വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തും കാണാം; ഓരോ കോണിലും അവൾ പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
Now in the streets, then in the market place, and at every corner she waited in ambush.
13 അവൾ അവനെ പിടിച്ചു ചുംബിച്ചു, ലജ്ജകൂടാതെ അവനോടു പറയുന്നതു:
So she grabbed him and kissed him, with a strong face she said to him,
14 എനിക്കു സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഇന്നു ഞാൻ എന്റെ നേർച്ചകളെ കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
“I made my peace offering today, I paid my vows,
15 അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കാണ്മാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു നിന്നെ എതിരേല്പാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു നിന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
so came I out to meet you, to eagerly seek your face, and I have found you.
16 ഞാൻ എന്റെ കട്ടിലിന്മേൽ പരവതാനികളും മിസ്രയീമ്യനൂൽകൊണ്ടുള്ള വരിയൻ പടങ്ങളും വിരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
I have spread coverings on my bed, colored linens from Egypt.
17 മൂറും അകിലും ലവംഗവുംകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ എന്റെ മെത്ത സുഗന്ധമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
I have sprinkled my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
18 വരിക; വെളുക്കുംവരെ നമുക്കു പ്രേമത്തിൽ രമിക്കാം; കാമവിലാസങ്ങളാൽ നമുക്കു സുഖിക്കാം.
Come, let us drink our fill of love until morning; let us take great pleasure in acts of love.
19 പുരുഷൻ വീട്ടിൽ ഇല്ല; ദൂരയാത്ര പോയിരിക്കുന്നു;
For my husband is not at his house; he has gone on a long journey.
20 പണമടിശ്ശീല കൂടെ കൊണ്ടുപോയിട്ടുണ്ടു; പൗർണ്ണമാസിക്കേ വീട്ടിൽ വന്നെത്തുകയുള്ളു.
He took a bag of money with him; he will return on the day of the full moon.”
21 ഇങ്ങനെ ഏറിയോരു ഇമ്പവാക്കുകളാൽ അവൾ അവനെ വശീകരിച്ചു അധരമാധുര്യംകൊണ്ടു അവനെ നിർബ്ബന്ധിക്കുന്നു.
With much talk she turned him; with her smooth lips she misled him.
22 അറുക്കുന്നേടത്തേക്കു കാളയും ചങ്ങലയിലേക്കു ഭോഷനും പോകുന്നതുപോലെയും,
He went after her suddenly like an ox going to slaughter, like a deer caught in a trap,
23 പക്ഷി ജീവഹാനിക്കുള്ളതെന്നറിയാതെ കണിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നതുപോലെയും കരളിൽ അസ്ത്രം തറെക്കുവോളം അവൻ അവളുടെ പിന്നാലെ ചെല്ലുന്നു.
until an arrow pierces through its liver. He was like a bird rushing into a snare. He did not know that it would cost his life.
24 ആകയാൽ മക്കളേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾപ്പിൻ; എന്റെ വായിലെ വചനങ്ങളെ ശ്രദ്ധിപ്പിൻ.
Now, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to the words of my mouth.
25 നിന്റെ മനസ്സു അവളുടെ വഴിയിലേക്കു ചായരുതു; അവളുടെ പാതകളിലേക്കു നീ തെറ്റിച്ചെല്ലുകയുമരുതു.
May your heart not turn aside onto her paths; do not be led astray onto her paths.
26 അവൾ വീഴിച്ച ഹതന്മാർ അനേകർ; അവൾ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞവർ ആകെ വലിയോരു കൂട്ടം ആകുന്നു.
She has caused many people to fall down pierced; her dead victims are very many.
