ലൂക്കോസ് 1
1 ശ്രീമാനായ തെയോഫിലോസേ, ആദിമുതൽ കണ്ട സാക്ഷികളും വചനത്തിന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷകന്മാരുമായവർ നമ്മെ ഭരമേല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ,
Inasmuch as many took it in hand to present a history concerning these things which have been fulfilled among us,
2 നമ്മുടെ ഇടയിൽ പൂർണ്ണമായി പ്രമാണിച്ചു വരുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളെ വിവരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു ചരിത്രം ചമെപ്പാൻ പലരും തുനിഞ്ഞിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു,
as those being eyewitnesses and ministers of the Word have delivered unto us;
3 നിനക്കു ഉപദേശം ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വാർത്തയുടെ നിശ്ചയം നീ അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു
it seemed good to me also, having followed carefully all things from the beginning, to write unto thee consecutively, O most noble Theophilus,
4 അതു ക്രമമായി എഴുതുന്നതു നന്നെന്നു ആദിമുതൽ സകലവും സൂക്ഷ്മമായി പരിശോധിച്ചിട്ടു എനിക്കും തോന്നിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
in order that thou mayest know the certainty of the words concerning which thou hast been instructed.
5 യെഹൂദ്യരാജാവായ ഹെരോദാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു അബീയാക്കൂറിൽ സെഖര്യാവു എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു പുരോഹിതൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ അഹരോന്റെ പുത്രിമാരിൽ ഒരുത്തി ആയിരുന്നു; അവൾക്കു എലീശബെത്ത് എന്നു പേർ.
There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest, by name Zacharias, of the course of Ahijah, and his wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name Elizabeth.
6 ഇരുവരും ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ നീതിയുള്ളവരും കർത്താവിന്റെ സകല കല്പനകളിലും ന്യായങ്ങളിലും കുററമില്ലാത്തവരായി നടക്കുന്നവരും ആയിരുന്നു.
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord, blameless.
7 എലീശബെത്ത് മച്ചിയാകകൊണ്ടു അവർക്കു സന്തതി ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞു; ഇരുവരും വയസ്സു ചെന്നവരും ആയിരുന്നു.
And there was no child to them, as Elizabeth was barren, and both were advanced in their days.
8 അവൻ കൂറിന്റെ ക്രമപ്രകാരം ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ പുരോഹിതനായി ശുശ്രൂഷ ചെയ്തുവരുമ്പോൾ:
And it came to pass, while he was officiating in the order of his course before God,
9 പൗരോഹിത്യമര്യാദപ്രകാരം കർത്താവിന്റെ മന്ദിരത്തിൽ ചെന്നു ധൂപം കാട്ടുവാൻ അവന്നു നറുക്കു വന്നു.
(according to the custom of the priesthood he was chosen by lot to offer incense), having gone into the temple of the Lord;
10 ധൂപം കാട്ടുന്ന നാഴികയിൽ ജനസമൂഹം ഒക്കെയും പുറത്തു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
and all the multitude of the people were praying without at the hour of incense;
11 അപ്പോൾ കർത്താവിന്റെ ദൂതൻ ധൂപപീഠത്തിന്റെ വലത്തു ഭാഗത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നവനായിട്ടു അവന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി.
the angel of the Lord appeared unto him standing on the right hand of the altar of incense:
12 സെഖര്യാവു അവനെ കണ്ടു ഭ്രമിച്ചു ഭയപരവശനായി.
and Zacharias was troubled seeing him, and fear fell on him.
13 ദൂതൻ അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: സെഖര്യാവേ, ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; നിന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥനെക്കു ഉത്തരമായി: നിന്റെ ഭാര്യ എലീശബെത്ത് നിനക്കു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും; അവന്നു യോഹന്നാൻ എന്നു പേർ ഇടേണം.
And the angel said to him; Fear not, Zacharias; because thy prayer has been heard, and thy wife Elizabeth shall bring forth a son to thee, and thou shalt call his name John.
14 നിനക്കു സന്തോഷവും ഉല്ലാസവും ഉണ്ടാകും; അവന്റെ ജനനത്തിങ്കൽ പലരും സന്തോഷിക്കും.
And there shall be joy and rejoicing, and many shall rejoice at his birth.
15 അവൻ കർത്താവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വലിയവൻ ആകും; വീഞ്ഞും മദ്യവും കുടിക്കയില്ല; അമ്മയുടെ ഗർഭത്തിൽവെച്ചു തന്നേ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു നിറയും.
For he shall be great before the Lord; and he shall not drink wine and strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost even from the womb of his mother.
16 അവൻ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളിൽ പലരെയും അവരുടെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിച്ചുവരുത്തും.
And he will turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord, their God.
17 അവൻ അപ്പന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ മക്കളിലേക്കും വഴങ്ങാത്തവരെ നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ ബോധത്തിലേക്കും തിരിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു ഒരുക്കമുള്ളോരു ജനത്തെ കർത്താവിന്നുവേണ്ടി ഒരുക്കുവാൻ അവന്നു മുമ്പായി ഏലീയാവിന്റെ ആത്മാവോടും ശക്തിയോടും കൂടെ നടക്കും.
And he will go before Him in the spirit and Power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient unto the understanding of the righteous, to prepare a people made ready for the Lord.
18 സെഖര്യാവു ദൂതനോടു; ഇതു ഞാൻ എന്തൊന്നിനാൽ അറിയും? ഞാൻ വൃദ്ധനും എന്റെ ഭാര്യ വയസ്സുചെന്നവളുമല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And Zacharias said to the angel: According to what shall I know this? for I am old and my wife advanced in her days.
19 ദൂതൻ അവനോടു: ഞാൻ ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ നില്ക്കുന്ന ഗബ്രീയേൽ ആകുന്നു; നിന്നോടു സംസാരിപ്പാനും ഈ സദ്വർത്തമാനം നിന്നോടു അറിയിപ്പാനും എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
And the angel responding said to him; I am Gabriel standing in the presence of God, and am sent to speak to you and to preach to you these things.
20 തക്കസമയത്തു നിവൃത്തിവരുവാനുള്ള എന്റെ ഈ വാക്കു വിശ്വസിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു അതു സംഭവിക്കുവരെ നീ സംസാരിപ്പാൻ കഴിയാതെ മൗനമായിരിക്കും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
And behold thou shalt be dumb and unable to speak, unto the day upon which these things may take place; because thou didst not believe my words, which shall be fulfilled in their time.
21 ജനം സെഖര്യാവിന്നായി കാത്തിരുന്നു, അവൻ മന്ദിരത്തിൽ താമസിച്ചതിനാൽ ആശ്ചര്യപെട്ടു.
And the people were waiting for Zacharias, and were wondering because he tarries in the temple.
22 അവൻ പുറത്തു വന്നാറെ അവരോടു സംസാരിപ്പാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതിനാൽ അവൻ മന്ദിരത്തിൽ ഒരു ദർശനം കണ്ടു എന്നു അവർ അറിഞ്ഞു; അവൻ അവർക്കു ആഗ്യം കാട്ടി ഊമനായി പാർത്തു.
And having come out he was unable to speak to them; and they recognized that he had seen a vision in the temple; and he was beckoning to them and remained dumb.
23 അവന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷാകാലം തികഞ്ഞശേഷം അവൻ വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോയി.
And it came to pass when the days of his ministry were fulfilled, he went away to his own house.
24 ആ നാളുകൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന്റെ ഭാര്യ എലീശബെത്ത് ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു:
And after these days Elizabeth, his wife, conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,
25 മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ എനിക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്ന നിന്ദ നീക്കുവാൻ കർത്താവു എന്നെ കടാക്ഷിച്ച നാളിൽ ഇങ്ങനെ എനിക്കു ചെയ്തുതന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അഞ്ചു മാസം ഒളിച്ചു പാർത്തു.
That the Lord so hath done unto me, in the days in which He condescended to take away my reproach among men.
26 ആറാം മാസത്തിൽ ദൈവം ഗബ്രീയേൽദൂതനെ നസറെത്ത് എന്ന ഗലീലപട്ടണത്തിൽ,
And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, to which was the name
27 ദാവീദുഗൃഹത്തിലുള്ള യോസേഫ് എന്നൊരു പുരുഷന്നു വിവാഹം നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്ന കന്യകയുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചു; ആ കന്യകയുടെ പേർ മറിയ എന്നു ആയിരുന്നു.
Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man, to whom was the name Joseph of the house of David; and the name of the virgin was Mary.
28 ദൂതൻ അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ അകത്തു ചെന്നു: കൃപലഭിച്ചവളേ, നിനക്കു വന്ദനം; കർത്താവു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And the angel having come to her said; Hail, thou blessed one; the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women.
29 അവൾ ആ വാക്കു കേട്ടു ഭ്രമിച്ചു: ഇതു എന്തൊരു വന്ദനം എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചു.
And she seeing was troubled over his word, and was reasoning what kind this salutation might be.
30 ദൂതൻ അവളോടു: മറിയയേ, ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; നിനക്കു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൃപ ലഭിച്ചു.
And the angel said to her; Fear not, Mary; for thou didst find favor with God.
31 നീ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിക്കും; അവന്നു യേശു എന്നു പേർ വിളിക്കേണം.
And behold, thou shalt conceive and hear a son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus.
32 അവൻ വലിയവൻ ആകും; അത്യുന്നതന്റെ പുത്രൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും; കർത്താവായ ദൈവം അവന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം അവന്നു കൊടുക്കും
He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David:
33 അവൻ യാക്കോബുഗൃഹത്തിന്നു എന്നേക്കും രാജാവായിരിക്കും; അവന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിന്നു അവസാനം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. (aiōn g165)
and He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His Kingdom there shall be no end. (aiōn g165)
34 മറിയ ദൂതനോടു: ഞാൻ പുരുഷനെ അറിയായ്കയാൽ ഇതു എങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And Mary said to the angel; How shall this be, since I know not man?
35 അതിന്നു ദൂതൻ: പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിന്റെമേൽ വരും; അത്യുന്നതന്റെ ശക്തി നിന്റെമേൽ നിഴലിടും; ആകയാൽ ഉത്ഭവിക്കുന്ന വിശുദ്ധപ്രജ ദൈവപുത്രൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.
And the angel responding said to her; The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee; therefore, indeed, that holy thing that is begotten shall be called the Son of God.
36 നിന്റെ ചാർച്ചക്കാരത്തി എലീശബെത്തും വാർദ്ധക്യത്തിൽ ഒരു മകനെ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; മച്ചി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുവന്നവൾക്കു ഇതു ആറാം മാസം.
And behold Elizabeth thy kinswoman, indeed, herself having conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month, to her who is called barren.
37 ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഒരു കാര്യവും അസാദ്ധ്യമല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Because no word shall be impossible with God.
38 അതിന്നു മറിയ: ഇതാ, ഞാൻ കർത്താവിന്റെ ദാസി; നിന്റെ വാക്കുപോലെ എനിക്കു ഭവിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; ദൂതൻ അവളെ വിട്ടുപോയി.
And Mary said; Behold the handmaiden of the Lord; may it be done unto me according to thy word. And the angel went away from her.
39 ആ നാളുകളിൽ മറിയ എഴുന്നേറ്റു മല നാട്ടിൽ ഒരു യെഹൂദ്യപട്ടണത്തിൽ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ചെന്നു,
And Mary, rising, departed into the mountainous land, with haste, into a city of Judah.
40 സെഖര്യാവിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ എത്തി എലീശബെത്തിനെ വന്ദിച്ചു.
And she came into the house of Zacharias and saluted Elizabeth.
41 മറിയയുടെ വന്ദനം എലീശബെത്ത് കേട്ടപ്പോൾ പിള്ള അവളുടെ ഗർഭത്തിൽ തുള്ളി; എലീശബെത്ത് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവളായി,
And it came to pass when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the infant in her womb leaped; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit; and she spoke with a loud voice and said;
42 ഉച്ചത്തിൽ വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു: സ്ത്രീകളിൽ നീ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൾ; നിന്റെ ഗർഭ ഫലവും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
43 എന്റെ കർത്താവിന്റെ മാതാവു എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്ന മാനം എനിക്കു എവിടെ നിന്നു ഉണ്ടായി.
And whence is this to me that the mother of my Lord may come unto me?
44 നിന്റെ വന്ദനസ്വരം എന്റെ ചെവിയിൽ വീണപ്പോൾ പിള്ള എന്റെ ഗർഭത്തിൽ ആനന്ദംകൊണ്ടു തുള്ളി.
For behold when the voice of your salutation came into my ears, the infant in my womb leaped with joy.
45 കർത്താവു തന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതിന്നു നിവൃത്തിയുണ്ടാകും എന്നു വിശ്വസിച്ചവൾ ഭാഗ്യവതി.
And blessed is she that believeth, because there shall be a perfection to those things having been spoken to her by the Lord.
46 അപ്പോൾ മറിയ പറഞ്ഞതു: “എന്റെ ഉള്ളം കർത്താവിനെ മഹിമപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു;
And Mary said; My soul doth magnify the Lord,
47 എന്റെ ആത്മാവു എന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിൽ ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്നു.
and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour,
48 അവൻ തന്റെ ദാസിയുടെ താഴ്ച കടാക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; ഇന്നുമുതൽ എല്ലാ തലമുറകളും എന്നെ ഭാഗ്യവതി എന്നു വാഴ്ത്തും.
because He looked upon the low state of his handmaiden.
49 ശക്തനായവൻ എനിക്കു വലിയവ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നാമം പരിശുദ്ധം തന്നേ.
For behold from now all generations call me blessed; because the Mighty One did great things unto me, and His name is holy;
50 അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നവർക്കു അവന്റെ കരുണ തലമുറതലമുറയോളം ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
and His mercy unto generation of generations to them that fear Him.
51 തന്റെ ഭുജംകൊണ്ടു അവൻ ബലം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു, ഹൃദയവിചാരത്തിൽ അഹങ്കരിക്കുന്നവരെ ചിതറിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
He wrought power by his own arm; he dispersed the proud in the thought of their heart.
52 പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെ സിംഹാസനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നു ഇറക്കി താണവരെ ഉയർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
He cast down the mighty from thrones and exalted the humble.
53 വിശന്നിരിക്കുന്നവരെ നന്മകളാൽ നിറെച്ചു, സമ്പന്നന്മാരെ വെറുതെ അയച്ചു കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
He filled the poor with good things, and sent away the rich empty.
54 നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്നും അവന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും എന്നേക്കും കരുണ ഓർക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു, (aiōn g165)
He delivered his son Israel, to remember mercy,
55 തന്റെ ദാസനായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ തുണെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.”
as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and his seed forever. (aiōn g165)
56 മറിയ ഏകദേശം മൂന്നു മാസം അവളോടു കൂടെ പാർത്തിട്ടു വീട്ടിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
And Mary remained with her about three months, and returned to her own house.
57 എലീശബെത്തിന്നു പ്രസവിപ്പാനുള്ള കാലം തികഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അവൾ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു;
And the time of her parturition was fulfilled unto Elizabeth and she brought forth a son.
58 കർത്താവു അവൾക്കു വലിയ കരുണ കാണിച്ചു എന്നു അയല്ക്കാരും ചാർച്ചക്കാരും കേട്ടിട്ടു അവളോടുകൂടെ സന്തോഷിച്ചു.
And the neighbors and her relatives heard, that the Lord was magnifying His mercy with her, and they continued to rejoice with her.
59 എട്ടാം നാളിൽ അവർ പൈതലിനെ പരിച്ഛേദന ചെയ്‌വാൻ വന്നു; അപ്പന്റെ പേർപോലെ അവന്നു സെഖര്യാവു എന്നു പേർ വിളിപ്പാൻ ഭാവിച്ചു.
And it came to pass on the eighth day, they came to circumcise the little child; and they were calling him Zacharias, after the name of his father.
60 അവന്റെ അമ്മയോ: അല്ല, അവന്നു യോഹന്നാൻ എന്നു പേരിടേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And his mother responding said; No, but he shall be called John.
61 അവർ അവളോടു: നിന്റെ ചാർച്ചയിൽ ഈ പേരുള്ളവർ ആരും ഇല്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And they said to her; That there is no one among thy kindred who is called by this name.
62 പിന്നെ അവന്നു എന്തു പേർ വിളിപ്പാൻ വിചാരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അപ്പനോടു ആഗ്യംകാട്ടി ചോദിച്ചു.
And they were beckoning to his father, what he might wish to call him.
63 അവൻ ഒരു എഴുത്തു പലക ചോദിച്ചു: അവന്റെ പേർ യോഹന്നാൻ എന്നു എഴുതി; എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു.
And having asked for a writing tablet, he wrote saying; His name is John.
64 ഉടനെ അവന്റെ വായും നാവും തുറന്നു, അവൻ സംസാരിച്ചു ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിച്ചു.
And all marveled. And his mouth immediately opened and his tongue loosed, and he continued to speak, praising God.
65 ചുറ്റും പാർക്കുന്നവർക്കു എല്ലാം ഭയം ഉണ്ടായി; , യെഹൂദ്യമലനാട്ടിൽ എങ്ങും ഈ വാർത്ത ഒക്കെയും പരന്നു.
And fear came upon all of those dwelling around; and all these words were spoken abroad in all the mountainous regions of Judea.
66 കേട്ടവർ എല്ലാവരും അതു ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിക്ഷേപിച്ചു: ഈ പൈതൽ എന്തു ആകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; കർത്താവിന്റെ കൈ അവനോടു കൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
And all those hearing placed them in their heart, saying; What then shall this little child be? And the hand of the Lord was with him.
67 അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ സെഖര്യാവു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവനായി പ്രവചിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതു:
And Zacharias his father was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied saying;
68 “യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവു അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ. അവൻ തന്റെ ജനത്തെ സന്ദർശിച്ചു ഉദ്ധാരണം ചെയ്കയും
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, because He looked upon us and wrought redemption to His people, and raised up unto us a horn of salvation
in the house of David His son.
70 നമ്മുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ വശത്തു നിന്നും നമ്മെ പകെക്കുന്ന ഏവരുടെയും കയ്യിൽ നിന്നും നമ്മെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ
As he spoke through the mouth of His holy prophets from the beginning; (aiōn g165)
71 തന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിൽ നമുക്കു രക്ഷയുടെ കൊമ്പു ഉയർത്തുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു,
salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all those who hate us,
72 നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു കരുണ പ്രവർത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും
to execute mercy with our fathers, and remember His holy covenant,
73 നമ്മുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടു
the oath which He swore to Abraham our father:
74 നാം ആയുഷ്ക്കാലം ഒക്കെയും ഭയം കൂടാതെ തിരുമുമ്പിൽ വിശുദ്ധിയിലും നീതിയിലും തന്നെ ആരാധിപ്പാൻ നമുക്കു കൃപ നല്കുമെന്നു
to grant unto us, having been delivered out of the hand of our enemies, to serve Him without fear,
75 അവൻ നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു സത്യവും തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധ നിയമവും ഓർത്തതുകൊണ്ടും ആകുന്നു.
in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.
76 നീയോ പൈതലേ, അത്യുന്നതന്റെ പ്രവാചകൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും. കർത്താവിന്റെ വഴി ഒരുക്കുവാനും
And thou, little child, shall be called a prophet of the Highest; for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways,
77 നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആർദ്രകരുണയാൽ അവന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു പാപമോചനത്തിൽ രക്ഷാപരിജ്ഞാനം കൊടുപ്പാനുമായി നീ അവന്നു മുമ്പായി നടക്കും.
to give knowledge of salvation to His people in remission of their sins,
78 ഇരുളിലും മരണനിഴലിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നവർക്കു പ്രകാശിച്ചു, നമ്മുടെ കാലുകളെ സമാധാനമാർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നടത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു
through the bowels of mercy of our God, in which the dayspring from on high looked upon us,
79 ആ ആർദ്രകരുണയാൽ ഉയരത്തിൽനിന്നു ഉദയം നമ്മെ സന്ദർശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.”
to appear unto those sitting in darkness and in the shadow of death, to direct our feet in the way of peace.
80 പൈതൽ വളർന്നു ആത്മാവിൽ ബലപ്പെട്ടു; അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു തന്നെത്താൻ കാണിക്കും നാൾവരെ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ആയിരുന്നു.
And the little child continued to grow and waxed strong in spirit; and was in the deserts until the day of his showing unto Israel.
