യോശുവ 18

1 അനന്തരം യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സഭ മുഴുവനും ശീലോവിൽ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി അവിടെ സമാഗമനകൂടാരം നിർത്തി; ദേശം അവർക്കു കീഴടങ്ങിയിരുന്നു.

Then the whole congregation of Israel assembled at Shiloh and set up the Tent of Meeting there. And though the land was subdued before them,

2 എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളിൽ അവകാശം ഭാഗിച്ചു കിട്ടാതിരുന്ന ഏഴു ഗോത്രങ്ങൾ ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്നു.

there were still seven tribes of Israel who had not yet received their inheritance.

3 യോശുവ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കുവാൻ പോകുന്നതിന്നു നിങ്ങൾ എത്രത്തോളം മടിച്ചിരിക്കും?

So Joshua said to the Israelites, “How long will you put off entering and possessing the land that the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you?

4 ഓരോ ഗോത്രത്തിന്നു മുമ്മൂന്നു പേരെ നിയമിപ്പിൻ; ഞാൻ അവരെ അയക്കും; അവർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ദേശത്തുകൂടി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു തങ്ങൾക്കു അവകാശം കിട്ടേണ്ടുംപ്രകാരം കണ്ടെഴുതി എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവരേണം.

Appoint three men from each tribe, and I will send them out to survey the land and map it out, according to the inheritance of each. Then they will return to me

5 അതു ഏഴു പങ്കായി ഭാഗിക്കേണം: യെഹൂദാ തന്റെ അതിർക്കകത്തു തെക്കു പാർത്തുകൊള്ളട്ടെ; യോസേഫിന്റെ കുലവും തന്റെ അതിർക്കകത്തു വടക്കു പാർത്തുകൊള്ളട്ടെ.

and divide the land into seven portions. Judah shall remain in their territory in the south, and the house of Joseph shall remain in their territory in the north.

6 അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ ദേശം ഏഴുഭാഗമായി കണ്ടെഴുതി ഇവിടെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ. ഞാൻ ഇവിടെ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽവെച്ചു നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി ചീട്ടിടും.

When you have mapped out the seven portions of land and brought it to me, I will cast lots for you here in the presence of the LORD our God.

7 ലേവ്യർക്കു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഓഹരി ഇല്ലല്ലോ; യഹോവയുടെ പൗരോഹിത്യം അവരുടെ അവകാശം ആകുന്നു; ഗാദും രൂബേനും മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രവും യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനായ മോശെ അവർക്കു കൊടുത്തിട്ടുള്ള അവകാശം യോർദ്ദാന്നു കിഴക്കു വാങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

The Levites, however, have no portion among you, because their inheritance is the priesthood of the LORD. And Gad, Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh have already received the inheritance that Moses the servant of the LORD gave them beyond the Jordan to the east.”

8 അങ്ങനെ ആ പുരുഷന്മാർ യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു; ദേശം കണ്ടെഴുതുവാൻ പോയവരോടു യോശുവ: നിങ്ങൾ ചെന്നു ദേശത്തുകൂടി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു കണ്ടെഴുതുകയും ഞാൻ ഇവിടെ ശീലോവിൽ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽവെച്ചു നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി ചീട്ടിടേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവരികയും ചെയ്‌വിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

As the men got up to go out, Joshua commanded them to map out the land, saying, “Go and survey the land, map it out, and return to me. Then I will cast lots for you here in Shiloh in the presence of the LORD.”

9 അവർ പോയി ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നു നഗരവിവരത്തോടുകൂടെ ഒരു പുസ്തകത്തിൽ അതു ഏഴു ഭാഗമായി എഴുതി ശീലോവിൽ യോശുവയുടെ അടുക്കൽ പാളയത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു.

So the men departed and went throughout the land, mapping it city by city into seven portions. Then they returned with the document to Joshua at the camp in Shiloh.

10 അപ്പോൾ യോശുവ ശീലോവിൽ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽവെച്ചു അവർക്കു വേണ്ടി ചീട്ടിട്ടു; അവിടെവെച്ചു യോശുവ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കു ഗോത്രവിഭാഗ പ്രകാരം ദേശം വിഭാഗിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു.

And Joshua cast lots for them in the presence of the LORD at Shiloh, where he distributed the land to the Israelites according to their divisions.

11 ബെന്യാമീൻ മക്കളുടെ ഗോത്രത്തിന്നു കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി നറുക്കു വന്നു; അവരുടെ അവകാശത്തിന്റെ അതിർ യെഹൂദയുടെ മക്കളുടെയും യോസേഫിന്റെ മക്കളുടെയും മദ്ധ്യേ കിടക്കുന്നു.

The first lot came up for the clans of the tribe of Benjamin. Their allotted territory lay between the tribes of Judah and Joseph:

12 വടക്കുഭാഗത്തു അവരുടെ വടക്കെ അതിർ യോർദ്ദാങ്കൽ തുടങ്ങി വടക്കു യെരീഹോവിന്റെ പാർശ്വംവരെ ചെന്നു പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടു മലനാട്ടിൽകൂടി കയറി ബേത്ത്-ആവെൻ മരുഭൂമിയിങ്കൽ അവസാനിക്കുന്നു.

On the north side their border began at the Jordan, went up past the northern slope of Jericho, headed west through the hill country, and came out at the wilderness of Beth-aven.

13 അവിടെനിന്നു ആ അതിർ ബേഥേൽ എന്ന ലൂസിന്റെ തെക്കുവശംവരെ കടന്നു താഴത്തെ ബേത്ത്-ഹോരോന്റെ തെക്കുവശത്തുള്ള മലവഴിയായി അതെരോത്ത്-അദാരിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങുന്നു.

From there the border crossed over to the southern slope of Luz (that is, Bethel) and went down to Ataroth-addar on the hill south of Lower Beth-horon.

14 പിന്നെ ആ അതിർ വളഞ്ഞു പടിഞ്ഞാറെ വശത്തു ബേത്ത്-ഹോരോന്നു എതിരെയുള്ള മലമുതൽ തെക്കോട്ടു തിരിഞ്ഞു യെഹൂദാമക്കളുടെ പട്ടണമായ കിര്യത്ത്-യെയാരീം എന്ന കിര്യത്ത്-ബാലയിങ്കൽ അവസാനിക്കുന്നു. ഇതു തന്നെ പടിഞ്ഞാറെഭാഗം

On the west side the border curved southward from the hill facing Beth-horon on the south and came out at Kiriath-baal (that is, Kiriath-jearim), a city of the sons of Judah. This was the western side.

15 തെക്കെഭാഗം കിര്യത്ത്-യെയാരീമിന്റെ അറ്റത്തു തുടങ്ങി പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടു നെപ്തോഹവെള്ളത്തിന്റെ ഉറവുവരെ ചെല്ലുന്നു.

On the south side the border began at the outskirts of Kiriath-jearim and extended westward to the spring at the Waters of Nephtoah.

16 പിന്നെ ആ അതിർ ബെൻ-ഹിന്നോം താഴ്‌വരക്കെതിരെയും രെഫായീംതാഴ്‌വരയുടെ വടക്കുവശത്തും ഉള്ള മലയുടെ അറ്റംവരെ ചെന്നു ഹിന്നോംതാഴ്‌വരയിൽ കൂടി തെക്കോട്ടു യെബൂസ്യപർവ്വതത്തിന്റെ പാർശ്വംവരെയും ഏൻ-രോഗേൽവരെയും ഇറങ്ങി

Then it went down to the foot of the hill that faces the Valley of Hinnom at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim and ran down the Valley of Hinnom toward the southern slope of the Jebusites and downward to En-rogel.

17 വടക്കോട്ടു തിരിഞ്ഞു ഏൻ-ശേമെശിലേക്കും അദുമ്മീംകയറ്റത്തിന്നെതിരെയുള്ള ഗെലീലോത്തിലേക്കും ചെന്നു രൂബേന്റെ മകനായ ബോഹാന്റെ കല്ലുവരെ ഇറങ്ങി

From there it curved northward and proceeded to En-shemesh and on to Geliloth facing the Ascent of Adummim, and continued down to the Stone of Bohan son of Reuben.

18 അരാബെക്കെതിരെയുള്ള മലഞ്ചരിവിലേക്കു കടന്നു അരാബയിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലുന്നു.

Then it went on to the northern slope of Beth-arabah and went down into the valley.

19 പിന്നെ ആ അതിർ വടക്കോട്ടു ബേത്ത്-ഹൊഗ്ലയുടെ മലഞ്ചരിവുവരെ കടന്നു തെക്കു യോർദ്ദാന്റെ അഴിമുഖത്തു ഉപ്പുകടലിന്റെ വടക്കെ അറ്റത്തു അവസാനിക്കുന്നു.

The border continued to the northern slope of Beth-hoglah and came out at the northern bay of the Salt Sea, at the mouth of the Jordan. This was the southern border.

20 ഇതു തെക്കെ അതിർ. അതിന്റെ കിഴക്കെ അതിർ യോർദ്ദാൻ ആകുന്നു; ഇതു ബെന്യാമീൻ മക്കൾക്കു കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി കിട്ടിയ അവകാശത്തിന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള അതിരുകൾ.

On the east side the border was the Jordan. These were the borders around the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Benjamin.

21 എന്നാൽ ബെന്യാമീൻ മക്കളുടെ ഗോത്രത്തിന്നു കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി കിട്ടിയ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ: യെരീഹോ, ബേത്ത്-ഹൊഗ്ല, ഏമെക്-കെസീസ്,

These were the cities of the clans of the tribe of Benjamin: Jericho, Beth-hoglah, Emek-keziz,

22 ബേത്ത്-അരാബ, സെമാറയീം, ബേഥേൽ,

Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel,

23 അവ്വീം, പാര, ഒഫ്ര,

Avvim, Parah, Ophrah,

24 കെഫാർ-അമ്മോനീ, ഒഫ്നി, ഗേബ; ഇങ്ങനെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു പട്ടണവും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും;

Chephar-ammoni, Ophni, and Geba—twelve cities, along with their villages.

25 ഗിബെയോൻ, രാമ, ബേരോത്ത്,

Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth,

26 മിസ്പെ, കെഫീര, മോസ,

Mizpeh, Chephirah, Mozah,

27 രേക്കെം, യിർപ്പേൽ, തരല,

Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah,

28 സേല, ഏലെഫ്, യെരൂശാലേം എന്ന യെബൂസ്യനഗരം, ശിബെയത്ത്, കിര്യത്ത്; ഇങ്ങനെ പതിന്നാലു പട്ടണവും അവയുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളും ഇതു ബെന്യാമീൻ മക്കൾക്കു കുടുംബംകുടുംബമായി കിട്ടിയ അവകാശം.

Zelah, Haeleph, Jebus (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah, and Kiriath-jearim —fourteen cities, along with their villages. This was the inheritance of the clans of the tribe of Benjamin.
