ഇയ്യോബ് 22
1 അതിന്നു തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫസ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered, and said,
2 മനുഷ്യൻ ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഉപകാരമായിവരുമോ? ജ്ഞാനിയായവൻ തനിക്കു തന്നേ ഉപകരിക്കേയുള്ളു.
Can a man be profitable to God? Surely he who is wise is profitable to himself.
3 നീ നീതിമാനായാൽ സർവ്വശക്തന്നു പ്രയോജനമുണ്ടോ? നീ നിഷ്കളങ്കനായി നടക്കുന്നതിനാൽ അവന്നു ലാഭമുണ്ടോ?
Is it any pleasure to the Almighty that thou are righteous? Or is it gain to him that thou make thy ways perfect?
4 നിന്റെ ഭക്തിനിമിത്തമോ അവൻ നിന്നെ ശാസിക്കയും നിന്നെ ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിൽ വരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതു?
Is it for thy fear of him that he reproves thee, that he enters with thee into judgment?
5 നിന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വലിയതല്ലയോ? നിന്റെ അകൃത്യങ്ങൾക്കു അന്തവുമില്ല.
Is not thy wickedness great? Neither is there any end to thine iniquities.
6 നിന്റെ സഹോദരനോടു നീ വെറുതെ പണയം വാങ്ങി, നഗ്നന്മാരുടെ വസ്ത്രം ഉരിഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
For thou have taken pledges from thy brother for nothing, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
7 ക്ഷീണിച്ചവന്നു നീ വെള്ളം കൊടുത്തില്ല; വിശന്നവന്നു നീ ആഹാരം മുടക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.
Thou have not given water to the weary to drink, and thou have withheld bread from the hungry.
8 കയ്യൂറ്റക്കാരന്നോ ദേശം കൈവശമായി, മാന്യനായവൻ അതിൽ പാർത്തു.
But as for the mighty man, he had the land. And the honorable man, he dwelt in it.
9 വിധവമാരെ നീ വെറുങ്കയ്യായി അയച്ചു; അനാഥന്മാരുടെ ഭുജങ്ങളെ നീ ഒടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.
Thou have sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
10 അതുകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ ചുറ്റും കണികൾ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; പെട്ടെന്നു ഭയം നിന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubles thee,
11 അല്ല, നീ അന്ധകാരത്തെയും നിന്നെ മൂടുന്ന പെരുവെള്ളത്തെയും കണുന്നില്ലയോ?
or darkness, so that thou cannot see, and abundance of waters cover thee.
12 ദൈവം സ്വർഗ്ഗോന്നതത്തിൽ ഇല്ലയോ? നക്ഷത്രങ്ങൾ എത്ര ഉയർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നോക്കുക.
Is not God in the height of heaven? And behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
13 എന്നാൽ നീ: ദൈവം എന്തറിയുന്നു? കൂരിരുട്ടിൽ അവൻ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുമോ?
And thou say, What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness?
14 കാണാതവണ്ണം മേഘങ്ങൾ അവന്നു മറ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു; ആകാശമണ്ഡലത്തിൽ അവൻ ഉലാവുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he does not see, and he walks on the vault of heaven.
15 ദുഷ്ടമനുഷ്യർ നടന്നിരിക്കുന്ന പുരാതനമാർഗ്ഗം നീ പ്രമാണിക്കുമോ?
Will thou keep the old way which wicked men have trodden?
16 കാലം തികയും മുമ്പെ അവർ പിടിപെട്ടുപോയി; അവരുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനം നദിപോലെ ഒഴുകിപ്പോയി.
Who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream,
17 അവർ ദൈവത്തോടു: ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുപോക; സർവ്വശക്തൻ ഞങ്ങളോടു എന്തു ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
who said to God, Depart from us, and, What can the Almighty do for us?
18 അവനോ അവരുടെ വീടുകളെ നന്മകൊണ്ടു നിറെച്ചു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ആലോചന എന്നോടു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
Yet he filled their houses with good things. But the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
19 നീതിമാന്മാർ കണ്ടു സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവൻ അവരെ പരിഹസിച്ചു:
The righteous see it, and are glad. And the innocent laugh them to scorn,
20 ഞങ്ങളുടെ എതിരാളികൾ മുടിഞ്ഞുപോയി; അവരുടെ ശേഷിപ്പു തീക്കിരയായി എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
Saying, Surely those who rose up against us are cut off, and the remnant of them, the fire has consumed.
21 നീ അവനോടിണങ്ങി സമാധാനമായിരിക്ക; അതിനാൽ നിനക്കു നന്മ വരും.
Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace. By this good shall come to thee.
22 അവന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു ഉപദേശം കൈക്കൊൾക; അവന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സംഗ്രഹിക്ക.
Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thy heart.
23 സർവ്വശക്തങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞാൽ നീ അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്രാപിക്കും; നീതികേടു നിന്റെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു അകറ്റിക്കളയും.
If thou return to the Almighty, thou shall be built up, thou put away unrighteousness far from thy tents.
24 നിന്റെ പൊന്നു പൊടിയിലും ഓഫീർതങ്കം തോട്ടിലെ കല്ലിൻ ഇടയിലും ഇട്ടുകളക.
Then thou shall lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
25 അപ്പോൾ സർവ്വശക്തൻ നിന്റെ പൊന്നും നിനക്കു വെള്ളിവാളവും ആയിരിക്കും.
Yea, the Almighty will be thy treasure, and precious silver to thee.
26 അന്നു നീ സർവ്വശക്തനിൽ പ്രമോദിക്കും; ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു നിന്റെ മുഖം ഉയർത്തും.
For then shall thou delight thyself in the Almighty, and shall lift up thy face to God.
27 നീ അവനോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കും; അവൻ നിന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥന കേൾക്കും; നീ നിന്റെ നേർച്ചകളെ കഴിക്കും.
Thou shall make thy prayer to him, and he will hear thee, and thou shall pay thy vows.
28 നീ ഒരു കാര്യം നിരൂപിക്കും; അതു നിനക്കു സാധിക്കും; നിന്റെ വഴികളിൽ വെളിച്ചം പ്രകാശിക്കും.
Thou shall also decree a thing, and it shall be established to thee. And light shall shine upon thy ways.
29 നിന്നെ താഴ്ത്തുമ്പോൾ ഉയർച്ച എന്നു നീ പറയും; താഴ്മയുള്ളവനെ അവൻ രക്ഷിക്കും.
When they cast thee down, thou shall say, There is lifting up, and he will save the humble man.
30 നിർദ്ദോഷിയല്ലാത്തവനെപ്പോലും അവൻ വിടുവിക്കും; നിന്റെ കൈകളുടെ വെടിപ്പിനാൽ അവൻ വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടും.
He will deliver even him who is not innocent. Yea, he shall be delivered through the cleanness of thy hands.
