ഇയ്യോബ് 15
1 അതിന്നു തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫസ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
But Eliphaz the Themanite, answering, said:
2 ജ്ഞാനിയായവൻ വ്യർത്ഥജ്ഞാനം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുമോ? അവൻ കിഴക്കൻ കാറ്റുകൊണ്ടു വയറുനിറെക്കുമോ?
Will a wise man answer as if he were speaking wind, and will he fill his stomach with fire?
3 അവൻ പ്രയോജനമില്ലാത്ത വാക്കുകളാലും ഉപകാരമില്ലാത്ത മൊഴികളാലും തർക്കിക്കുമോ?
You rebuke with words he who is not equal to you, and you speak what is not expedient for you,
4 നീ ഭക്തി വെടിഞ്ഞു ദൈവസന്നിധിയിലെ ധ്യാനം മുടക്കിക്കളയുന്നു.
to such an extent that, within yourself, you have expelled reverence and have taken away prayers from the presence of God.
5 നിന്റെ അകൃത്യം നിന്റെ വായെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; ഉപായികളുടെ നാവു നീ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
For your iniquity has mislead your mouth, and you imitate the tongue of blasphemers.
6 ഞാനല്ല, നിന്റെ സ്വന്തവായ് നിന്നെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങൾ തന്നേ നിന്റെ നേരെ സാക്ഷീകരിക്കുന്നു.
Your own mouth will condemn you, not I; and your own lips will answer you.
7 നീയോ ആദ്യം ജനിച്ച മനുഷ്യൻ? ഗിരികൾക്കും മുമ്പെ നീ പിറന്നുവോ?
Are you the first man who was born, or were you formed before the hills?
8 നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മന്ത്രിസഭയിൽ കൂടീട്ടുണ്ടോ? ജ്ഞാനത്തെ നീ കുത്തക പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവോ?
Have you heard the intentions of God, and will his wisdom be inferior to you?
9 ഞങ്ങൾ അറിയാത്തതായി നീ എന്തു അറിയുന്നു? ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വശം ഇല്ലാത്തതായി എന്തൊന്നു നീ ഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു?
What do you know, about which we are ignorant? What do you understand that we do not know?
10 ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നരെച്ചവരും വൃദ്ധന്മാരും ഉണ്ടു; നിന്റെ അപ്പനെക്കാൾ പ്രായം ചെന്നവർ തന്നേ.
There are with us both aged and ancient men, even more senior than your fathers.
11 ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആശ്വാസങ്ങളും സ്വന്തമായി പറഞ്ഞുതരുന്ന വാക്കും നിനക്കു പോരയോ?
Is it so important that God should console you? But your own depraved words prevent this.
12 നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം നിന്നെ പതറിക്കുന്നതെന്തു? നീ കണ്ണു ഉരുട്ടുന്നതെന്തു?
Why does your heart exalt you, and why do you gaze with your eyes, as if thinking great things?
13 നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ചീറുകയും നിന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു മൊഴികളെ പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
Why does your spirit stir against God, so as to utter such speeches from your mouth?
14 മർത്യൻ ശുദ്ധിമാനായിരിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ? സ്ത്രീ പ്രസവിച്ചവൻ നീതിമാനായിരിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?
What is man that he should be immaculate, and that he should appear just, having been born of woman?
15 തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരിലും അവന്നു വിശ്വാസമില്ലല്ലോ; സ്വർഗ്ഗവും തൃക്കണ്ണിന്നു നിർമ്മലമല്ല.
Behold, among his holy ones not one is immutable, and even the heavens are not pure in his sight.
16 പിന്നെ മ്ലേച്ഛതയും വഷളത്വവുമുള്ളവനായി വെള്ളംപോലെ അകൃത്യം കുടിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ എങ്ങനെ?
How much more abominable and useless is the man who drinks as if from the water of iniquity?
17 ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഉപദേശിക്കാം, കേട്ടുകൊൾക; ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ളതു വിവരിച്ചുപറയാം.
I will reveal to you, so listen to me; and I will explain to you what I have seen.
18 ജ്ഞാനികൾ തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു കേൾക്കയും മറെച്ചുവെക്കാതെ അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്തതു തന്നേ.
The wise acknowledge, and they do not leave behind, their fathers,
19 അവർക്കുമാത്രമല്ലോ ദേശം നല്കിയിരുന്നതു; അന്യൻ അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ കടക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.
to whom alone the earth has been given, and no stranger passed among them.
20 ദുഷ്ടൻ ജീവപര്യന്തം അതിവേദനയോടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; നിഷ്ഠൂരന്നു വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ആണ്ടുകൾ തികയുവോളം തന്നേ.
The impious is arrogant for all his days, and the number of the years of his tyranny is uncertain.
21 ഘോരനാദം അവന്റെ ചെവിയിൽ മുഴങ്ങുന്നു; സുഖമായിരിക്കയിൽ കവർച്ചക്കാരൻ അവന്റെ നേരെ വരുന്നു.
The sound of terror is always in his ears; and when there is peace, he always suspects treason.
22 അന്ധകാരത്തിൽനിന്നു മടങ്ങിവരുമെന്നു അവൻ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല; അവൻ വാളിന്നിരയായി നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
He does not believe that it is possible for him to be turned from darkness into the light, for he sees around him the sword on every side.
23 അവൻ അപ്പം തെണ്ടിനടക്കുന്നു; അതു എവിടെ കിട്ടും? അനർത്ഥദിവസം തനിക്കു അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ അറിയുന്നു.
When he moves himself to seek bread, he knows that the day of darkness has been prepared for his hand.
24 കഷ്ടവും വ്യാകുലവും അവനെ അരട്ടുന്നു; പടെക്കൊരുങ്ങിയ രാജാവെന്നപോലെ അവനെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നു.
Tribulation will terrify him, and anguish will prevail over him, like a king who is being prepared to go to battle.
25 അവൻ ദൈവത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി കൈ നീട്ടി, സർവ്വശക്തനോടു ധിക്കാരം കാട്ടിയതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ.
For he has extended his hand against God, and he has strengthened himself against the Almighty.
26 തന്റെ പരിചകളുടെ തുടിച്ച മുഴകളോടുകൂടെ അവൻ ശാഠ്യംകാണിച്ചു അവന്റെ നേരെ പാഞ്ഞുചെല്ലുന്നു.
He has rushed against him with his throat exposed, and he has been armed with a fat neck.
27 അവൻ തന്റെ മുഖത്തെ മേദസ്സുകൊണ്ടു മൂടുന്നു; തന്റെ കടിപ്രദേശത്തു കൊഴുപ്പു കൂട്ടുന്നു.
Thickness has covered his face, and lard hangs down from his sides.
28 അവൻ ശൂന്യനഗരങ്ങളിലും ആരും പാർക്കാതെ കൽകൂമ്പാരങ്ങളായിത്തീരുവാനുള്ള വീടുകളിലും പാർക്കുന്നു.
He has lived in desolate cities and deserted houses, which have been turned into tombs.
29 അവൻ ധനവാനാകയില്ല; അവന്റെ സമ്പത്തു നിലനില്ക്കയില്ല; അവരുടെ വിളവു നിലത്തേക്കു കുലെച്ചുമറികയുമില്ല.
He will not be enriched, nor will his basic necessities endure, nor will he establish his root in the earth.
30 ഇരുളിൽനിന്നു അവൻ തെറ്റിപ്പോകയില്ല; അഗ്നിജ്വാല അവന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളെ ഉണക്കിക്കളയും; തിരുവായിലെ ശ്വാസംകൊണ്ടു അവൻ കെട്ടുപോകും.
He will not withdraw from the darkness; the flame will burn up his branches, and he will be defeated by the breath of his own mouth.
31 അവൻ വ്യാജത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കരുതു; അതു സ്വയവഞ്ചനയത്രേ; അവന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം വ്യാജം തന്നേ ആയിരിക്കും.
He will not believe, being vainly deceived by error, that he could be redeemed at any price.
32 അവന്റെ ദിവസം വരുംമുമ്പെ അതു നിവൃത്തിയാകും; അവന്റെ പനമ്പട്ട പച്ചയായിരിക്കയില്ല.
Before his time is completed, he will pass into ruin and his hands will wither away.
33 മുന്തിരിവള്ളിപോലെ അവൻ പിഞ്ചു ഉതിർക്കും; ഒലിവുവൃക്ഷംപോലെ പൂ പൊഴിക്കും.
He will be wounded like a grapevine, when its cluster is in first flower, and like an olive tree that casts off its flower.
34 വഷളന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടം വന്ധ്യത പ്രാപിക്കും; കൈക്കൂലിയുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങൾ തീക്കിരയാകും.
For the congregation of the hypocrites is fruitless, and fire will devour the tabernacles of those who love to accept money.
35 അവർ കഷ്ടത്തെ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു അനർത്ഥത്തെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഉദരം വഞ്ചനയെ ഉരുവാക്കുന്നു.
He has conceived sorrow, and he has brought forth iniquity, and his womb prepares deceit.
