യിരെമ്യാവു 23

1 എന്റെ മേച്ചൽപുറത്തെ ആടുകളെ നശിപ്പിക്കയും ചിതറിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ഇടയന്മാർക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

What trouble is coming to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! declares the Lord.

2 അതുകൊണ്ടു, തന്റെ ജനത്തെ മേയിക്കുന്ന ഇടയന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തെ സൂക്ഷിക്കാതെ അവയെ ചിതറിച്ചു ഓടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇതാ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ദോഷത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങളോടു ചോദിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says about the shepherds who were meant to look after my people: You have scattered my flock. You have chased them away You didn't take care of them, so now I will take care of you for all the evil you've done, declares the Lord.

3 എന്റെ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവയെ ഞാൻ അവയെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന സകലദേശങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും ശേഖരിച്ചു അവയുടെ പുല്പുറങ്ങളിലേക്കു വീണ്ടും കൊണ്ടുവരും; അവ വർദ്ധിച്ചു പെരുകും.

I myself will gather what's left of my flock from all the countries where I exiled them, and I will bring them back to their pasture, where they will increase in number.

4 അവയെ മേയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ ഇടയന്മാരെ നിയമിക്കും; അവ ഇനി പേടിക്കയില്ല, ഭ്രമിക്കയില്ല, കാണാതെപോകയുമില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

I will put shepherds in charge of them who will take care of them, and they won't be afraid or discouraged anymore, and none of them will be missing, declares the Lord.

5 ഞാൻ ദാവീദിന്നു നീതിയുള്ളോരു മുളയായവനെ ഉത്ഭവിപ്പിക്കുന്ന കാലം വരും; അവൻ രാജാവായി വാണു ബുദ്ധിയോടെ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു ദേശത്തു നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തും.

Look, the time is coming, declares the Lord, when I will choose a descendant of David who does what is right. As king he will rule with wisdom and do what is just and right throughout the country.

6 അവന്റെ കാലത്തു യെഹൂദാ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; യിസ്രായേൽ നിർഭയമായി വസിക്കും; അവന്നു യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ നീതി എന്നു പേർ പറയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

When he is king, Judah will be saved, and Israel will live in safety. This is the name he will be called: The Lord Who Makes Us Right.

7 ആകയാൽ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയാണ എന്നു ഇനി പറയാതെ,

Look, the time is coming, declares the Lord, when people won't say anymore, “On the Lord's life, who led the Israelites out of Egypt.”

8 യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ സന്തതിയെ വടക്കുദേശത്തുനിന്നും ഞാൻ അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരുന്ന സകലദേശങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയാണ എന്നു പറയുന്ന കാലം വരും; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ സ്വന്തദേശത്തു വസിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Instead they'll say, “On the Lord's life, who led the Israelites back from the northern country and all the other countries where he had exiled them.” Then they'll live in their own country.

9 പ്രവാചകന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാടു: എന്റെ ഹൃദയം എന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ നുറുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ അസ്ഥികൾ ഒക്കെയും ഇളകുന്നു; യഹോവ നിമിത്തവും അവന്റെ വിശുദ്ധവചനങ്ങൾനിമിത്തവും ഞാൻ, മത്തനായിരിക്കുന്നവനെപ്പോലെയും വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചു ലഹരിപിടിച്ചവനെപ്പോലെയും ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.

When it comes to the prophets: I'm really disturbed—I'm shaking inside! I stagger like a drunk, like someone who's had too much wine, because of what the Lord is like, because of his holy words.

10 ദേശം വ്യഭിചാരികളെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ശാപംനിമിത്തം ദേശം ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു; മരുഭൂമിയിലെ മേച്ചല്പുറങ്ങൾ ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഓട്ടം ദോഷമുള്ളതും അവരുടെ ബലം നേരുകെട്ടതും ആകുന്നു.

For the country is full of people committing adultery so it's under a curse. The land mourns and the desert pastures have dried up. The people live evil lives, using their energy to do wrong.

11 പ്രവാചകനും പുരോഹിതനും ഒരുപോലെ വഷളന്മാരായിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ആലയത്തിലും ഞാൻ അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടത കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Both prophets and priests show no respect for me. I see wickedness even in my Temple, declares the Lord.

12 അതുകൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ വഴി അവർക്കു ഇരുട്ടത്തു വഴുവഴുപ്പു ആയിരിക്കും; അവർ അതിൽ കാൽ തെറ്റി വീഴും; ഞാൻ അവർക്കു അനർത്ഥം, അവരുടെ സന്ദർശനകാലം തന്നേ, വരുത്തും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

That's why their path will become slippery; they will be chased away in the dark and fall down. I'm going to bring disaster on them at the time when they're punished, declares the Lord.

13 ശമര്യയിലെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരിൽ ഞാൻ ഭോഷത്വം കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ ബാലിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ പ്രവചിച്ചു എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

I saw the prophets of Samaria doing something really offensive: They prophesied in the name of Baal and led my people Israel to sin.

14 യെരൂശലേമിലെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരിലോ ഞാൻ അതിഭയങ്കരമായുള്ളതു കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്തു വ്യാജത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്നു; ആരും തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വിട്ടുതിരിയാതവണ്ണം അവർ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; അവരെല്ലാവരും എനിക്കു സൊദോംപോലെയും, അതിലെ നിവാസികൾ ഗൊമോറപോലെയും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

But now I see the prophets of Jerusalem doing something even more disgusting: They commit adultery and their lives are a lie. They support the wicked, so no one stops sinning. To me they're all like Sodom; the people of Jerusalem are like Gomorrah.

15 അതുകൊണ്ടു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ അവരെ കാഞ്ഞിരം തീറ്റി നഞ്ചുവെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിക്കും; യെരൂശലേമിലെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരിൽനിന്നല്ലോ വഷളത്വം ദേശത്തെല്ലാടവും പരന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു.

So this is what the Lord Almighty says about the prophets: I will give them wormwood to eat and poisoned water to drink, because evil has spread across the country from the prophets of Jerusalem.

16 സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങളോടു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കരുതു; അവർ നിങ്ങളെ വ്യാജം ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയുടെ വായിൽനിന്നുള്ളതല്ല സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തിലെ ദർശനമത്രേ അവർ പ്രവചിക്കുന്നതു.

This is what the Lord Almighty says: Don't pay attention to what these prophets say when they prophesy to you. They're fooling you with visions they make up in their own minds. They're not from me.

17 എന്നെ നിരസിക്കുന്നവരോടു അവർ: നിങ്ങൾക്കു സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നു; തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ശാഠ്യപ്രകാരം നടക്കുന്നവരോടൊക്കെയും: നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഒരു ദോഷവും വരികയില്ല എന്നും പറയുന്നു.

They keep on telling people who don't respect me, “The Lord says that you'll live in peace,” and to everyone following their own stubborn attitude, “Nothing bad is going to happen to you.”

18 യഹോവയുടെ വചനം ദർശിച്ചുകേൾപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അവന്റെ ആലോചനസഭയിൽ നിന്നവൻ ആർ? അവന്റെ വചനം ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നവൻ ആർ?

But who of them has attended the Lord's council to hear and understand what he's saying? Who has paid attention to his instructions and followed them?

19 യഹോവയുടെ ക്രോധം എന്ന കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു, വലിയ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റുതന്നേ, പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ തലമേൽ ചുറ്റിയടിക്കും.

Watch out! The Lord has sent out a furious storm, a tornado swirling around the heads of the wicked.

20 തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ ഉദ്ദേശങ്ങളെ നടത്തിത്തീരുവോളം യഹോവയുടെ കോപം മാറുകയില്ല; ഭാവികാലത്തു നിങ്ങൾ അതിനെ പൂർണ്ണമായി ഗ്രഹിക്കും.

The Lord's anger won't fade until he's finished doing everything he wants. Only then will you really understand.

21 ഞാൻ ഈ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ അയക്കാതിരുന്നിട്ടും അവർ ഓടി; ഞാൻ അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യാതിരുന്നിട്ടും അവർ പ്രവചിച്ചു.

I didn't send these prophets, but they run to deliver their messages. I didn't tell them to say anything, but they still go on prophesying.

22 അവർ എന്റെ ആലോചനസഭയിൽ നിന്നിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ, എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ എന്റെ ജനത്തെ കേൾപ്പിച്ചു അവരെ അവരുടെ ആകാത്തവഴിയിൽനിന്നും അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ദോഷത്തിൽനിന്നും തിരിപ്പിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.

Now if they had attended my council, they would have delivered my instructions to my people and brought them back from their evil way of life, from their evil actions.

23 ഞാൻ സമീപസ്ഥനായ ദൈവം മാത്രം ആകുന്നുവോ? ദൂരസ്ഥനായ ദൈവവുമല്ലയോ? എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Am I only a local God and not a God who operates widely? asks the Lord.

24 ഞാൻ കാണാതവണ്ണം ആർക്കെങ്കിലും മറയത്തു ഒളിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുമോ? എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാൻ ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നവനല്ലയോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Can people hide in secret places where I can't see them? asks the Lord. Don't I operate everywhere in heaven and on earth? asks the Lord.

25 ഞാൻ സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു, സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ഭോഷ്കു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ വാക്കു ഞാൻ കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

I've listened to the prophets who prophesy lies in my name. They say, “I've had a dream! I've had a dream!”

26 സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തിലെ വഞ്ചനയുടെ പ്രവാചകന്മാരായി ഭോഷ്കു പ്രവചിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാർക്കു ഈ താല്പര്യം എത്രത്തോളം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും?

How long will this continue? How long will these prophets go on prophesying these lies which are just the product of their own deluded minds?

27 അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ ബാൽ നിമിത്തം എന്റെ നാമം മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഇവർ അന്യോന്യം വിവരിച്ചു പറയുന്ന സ്വപ്നങ്ങൾകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ ജനം എന്റെ നാമം മറന്നുകളയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇടവരുത്തുവാൻ വിചാരിക്കുന്നു.

They think the dreams that they repeat to one another will lead my people to forget me, just like their forefathers forgot me by worshiping Baal.

28 സ്വപ്നംകണ്ട പ്രവാചകൻ സ്വപ്നം വിവരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ വചനം ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവൻ എന്റെ വചനം വിശ്വസ്തതയോടെ പ്രസ്താവിക്കട്ടെ; വൈക്കോലും കോതമ്പും തമ്മിൽ ഒക്കുമോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

A prophet who has a dream should say it's just a dream, but anyone I've spoken to should deliver my message faithfully. What is straw in comparison to grain? asks the Lord.

29 എന്റെ വചനം തീ പോലെയും പാറയെ തകർക്കുന്ന ചുറ്റികപോലെയും അല്ലയോ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Doesn't my word burn like fire? asks the Lord. Isn't it like a hammer smashing a rock?

30 അതുകൊണ്ടു ഒരുത്തനോടു ഒരുത്തൻ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ മോഷ്ടിക്കുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാർക്കു ഞാൻ വിരോധമാകുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Pay attention to this, declares the Lord. I'm opposed to those prophets who steal words from one another and then say it's a message from me.

31 തങ്ങളുടെ നാവെടുത്തു അരുളപ്പാടു എന്നു പറയുന്ന പ്രവാചകന്മാർക്കു ഞാൻ വിരോധമാകുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Pay attention to this declares the Lord. I'm opposed to those prophets who make up their own stories and then announce, “This is what the Lord says.”

32 വ്യാജസ്വപ്നങ്ങളെ പ്രവചിച്ചു വിവരിച്ചു ഭോഷ്കുകൊണ്ടു വ്യർത്ഥപ്രശംസകൊണ്ടും എന്റെ ജനത്തെ തെറ്റിച്ചുകളയുന്നവർക്കു ഞാൻ വിരോധമാകുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാൻ അവരെ അയച്ചിട്ടില്ല, അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, അവർ ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു ഒട്ടും പ്രയോജനമായിരിക്കയുമില്ല എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

Pay attention to this declares the Lord, I'm opposed to those who prophesy fictional dreams. They tell them in order to lead my people into sin with their wild lies. I didn't send them or give them any instructions, and they don't do anybody any good, declares the Lord.

33 ഈ ജനമോ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനോ പുരോഹിതനോ യഹോവയുടെ ഭാരം (അരുളപ്പാടു) എന്തു എന്നു നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ, നീ അവരോടു; നിങ്ങൾ ആകുന്നു ഭാരം; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ എറിഞ്ഞുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എന്നു പറക.

So when a prophet or priest or anyone else comes and asks you, “What is ‘the burden of the Lord?’” tell them, I'm not giving you a burden. I'm giving up on you, declares the Lord.

34 പ്രവാചകനോ പുരോഹിതനോ ജനമോ; യഹോവയുടെ ഭാരം എന്നു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ ആ മനുഷ്യനെയും അവന്റെ ഭവനത്തെയും സന്ദർശിക്കും.

If a prophet or priest or anyone else claims, “This is the burden of the Lord,” I will punish that person and their family.

35 യഹോവ എന്തുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു? യഹോവ എന്തു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെയത്രേ ഒരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനോടും താന്താന്റെ സഹോദരനോടും ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതു.

This is what everybody should say to their friends and relatives: “What answer has the Lord given?” or, “What has the Lord said?”

36 യഹോവയുടെ ഭാരം എന്നു ഇനി മിണ്ടരുതു; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അവനവന്റെ വാക്കു അവനവന്നു ഭാരമായ്തീരും; നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്ന ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങൾ മറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

Don't talk about “the burden of the Lord” anymore, because everybody has different ideas about this “burden,” perverting the words of the living God, the Lord Almighty, our God.

37 യഹോവ നിന്നോടു എന്തുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു? യഹോവ എന്തരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെയത്രേ പ്രവാചകനോടു ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതു.

This is what you are to say ask any prophet: “What message has the Lord given you?” and “What has the Lord told you?”

38 യഹോവയുടെ ഭാരം എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിലോ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; യഹോവയുടെ ഭാരം എന്നു പറയരുതു എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചിട്ടും നിങ്ങൾ യഹോവയുടെ ഭാരം എന്നീ വാക്കു പറകകൊണ്ടു

If they say, “This is the burden of the Lord,” then this is the Lord's response: Because you said, “This is the burden of the Lord,” and I warned you not to,

39 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ എടുത്തു നിങ്ങളെയും നിങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കും ഞാൻ തന്നിട്ടുള്ള നഗരത്തെയും എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു എറിഞ്ഞുകളയും.

now I'm going to pick you up like a burden and throw you away, you and the city that I gave to you and your forefathers.

40 അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു നിത്യനിന്ദയും മറന്നുപോകാത്ത നിത്യലജ്ജയും വരുത്തും.

I will disgrace you forever, you shame will never be forgotten.
