യിരെമ്യാവു 11

1 യഹോവയിങ്കൽനിന്നു യിരെമ്യാവിന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടു:

The word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,

2 ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടു യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരോടും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളോടും പ്രസ്താവിപ്പിൻ.

Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;

3 നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഈ നിയമത്തിൻ വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാത്ത മനുഷ്യൻ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ.

and say thou unto them, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel: Cursed be the man that heareth not the words of this covenant,

4 അവയെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു അവരെ ഇരിമ്പുചൂളയായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാളിൽ കല്പിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്‌വിൻ; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു ജനവും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദൈവവും ആയിരിക്കും എന്നരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace, saying, Obey my voice, and do them, according to all which I command you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God;

5 ഇന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ദേശം കൊടുക്കും എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ അവരോടു ചെയ്ത സത്യം നിവർത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ. അതിന്നു ഞാൻ: ആമേൻ, യഹോവേ, എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

that I may establish the oath which I sware unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as at this day. Then answered I, and said, Amen, O Jehovah.

6 അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: നീ യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളിലും യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ വീഥികളിലും ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും വിളിച്ചുപറക: ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടു ചെയ്തുകൊൾവിൻ.

And Jehovah said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.

7 ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാളിലും ഇന്നുവരെയും ഞാൻ അതികാലത്തും ഇടവിടാതെയും അവരോടു: എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice.

8 അവരോ അനുസരിക്കയും ചെവി ചായ്ക്കയും ചെയ്യാതെ ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ ദുഷ്ടഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ ശാഠ്യപ്രകാരം നടന്നു; ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ അവരോടു ചെയ്‌വാൻ കല്പിച്ചതും അവർ ചെയ്യാതെയിരുന്നതുമായ ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാൻ അവരുടെമേൽ വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the stubbornness of their evil heart: therefore I brought upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they did them not.

9 യഹോവ പിന്നെയും എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിലും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളുടെ ഇടയിലും ഒരു കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

And Jehovah said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

10 അവർ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാത്ത പൂർവ്വപിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു, അന്യദേവന്മാരെ സേവിപ്പാൻ അവരോടു ചേർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ചെയ്ത നിയമം യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹവും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹവും ലംഘിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear my words; and they are gone after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.

11 അതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുവാൻ കഴിയാത്ത ഒരനർത്ഥം ഞാൻ അവർക്കു വരുത്തും; അവർ എന്നോടു നിലവിളിച്ചാലും ഞാൻ കേൾക്കയില്ല.

Therefore thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and they shall cry unto me, but I will not hearken unto them.

12 അപ്പോൾ യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളും ചെന്നു, തങ്ങൾ ധൂപം കാട്ടിവന്ന ദേവന്മാരോടു നിലവിളിക്കും; എങ്കിലും അവർ അവരെ അനർത്ഥകാലത്തു രക്ഷിക്കയില്ല.

Then shall the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem go and cry unto the gods unto which they offer incense: but they will not save them at all in the time of their trouble.

13 യെഹൂദയേ, നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണത്തോളം നിനക്കു ദേവന്മാരുണ്ടു; യെരൂശലേമിലെ വീഥികളുടെ എണ്ണത്തോളം നിങ്ങൾ ആ ലജ്ജാവിഗ്രഹത്തിന്നു ബലിപീഠങ്ങളെ, ബാലിന്നു ധൂപം കാട്ടുവാനുള്ള പീഠങ്ങളെ തന്നേ തീർത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

For according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to the shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal.

14 ആകയാൽ നീ ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കരുതു; അവർക്കു വേണ്ടി യാചനയോ പക്ഷവാദമോ കഴിക്കയുമരുതു; അവർ അനർത്ഥംനിമിത്തം എന്നോടു നിലവിളിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ കേൾക്കയില്ല.

Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me because of their trouble.

15 എന്റെ പ്രിയെക്കു എന്റെ ആലയത്തിൽ എന്തു കാര്യം? അവൾ പലരോടുംകൂടെ ദുഷ്കർമ്മം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ; വിശുദ്ധമാംസം നിന്നെ വിട്ടുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു; ദോഷം ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ നീ ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്നു.

What hath my beloved to do in my house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness [with] many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.

16 മനോഹര ഫലങ്ങളാൽ ശോഭിതമായ പച്ച ഒലിവുവൃക്ഷം എന്നു യഹോവ നിനക്കു പേർവിളിച്ചിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ മഹാകോലാഹലത്തോടെ അവൻ അതിന്നു തീ വെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളും ഒടിഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്നു.

Jehovah called thy name, A green olive-tree, fair with goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.

17 യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹവും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹവും ബാലിന്നു ധൂപം കാട്ടി എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതിൽ ദോഷം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കയാൽ നിന്നെ നട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ നിനക്കു അനർത്ഥം വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

For Jehovah of hosts, who planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, because of the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have wrought for themselves in provoking me to anger by offering incense unto Baal.

18 യഹോവ എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയതിനാൽ ഞാൻ അതു അറിഞ്ഞു; അന്നു നീ അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ എനിക്കു കാണിച്ചുതന്നു.

And Jehovah gave me knowledge of it, and I knew it: then thou showedst me their doings.

19 ഞാനോ അറുപ്പാൻ കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന മരുക്കമുള്ള കുഞ്ഞാടുപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ പേർ ആരും ഓർക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം വൃക്ഷത്തെ ഫലത്തോടുകൂടെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളക എന്നിങ്ങനെ അവർ എന്റെ നേരെ ഉപായം നിരൂപിച്ചതു ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

But I was like a gentle lamb that is led to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, [saying], Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.

20 നീതിയോടെ ന്യായംവിധിക്കയും അന്തരംഗവും ഹൃദയവും ശോധനകഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേ, നീ അവരോടു ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രതികാരം ഞാൻ കാണുമാറാകട്ടെ; ഞാൻ എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം നിന്നെ ബോധിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

But, O Jehovah of hosts, who judgest righteously, who triest the heart and the mind, I shall see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I revealed my cause.

21 അതുകൊണ്ടു: നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യാൽ മരിക്കാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ പ്രവചിക്കരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു നിനക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്ന അനാഥോത്തുകാരെക്കുറിച്ചു യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു:

Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Thou shalt not prophesy in the name of Jehovah, that thou die not by our hand;

22 ഞാൻ അവരെ സന്ദർശിക്കും; യൗവനക്കാർ വാൾകൊണ്ടു മരിക്കും; അവരുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ടു മരിക്കും.

therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine;

23 ഞാൻ അനാഥോത്തുകാരെ സന്ദർശിക്കുന്ന കാലത്തു അവർക്കു അനർത്ഥം വരുത്തുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവരിൽ ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

and there shall be no remnant unto them: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.
