യെശയ്യാവ് 49
1 ദ്വീപുകളേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾപ്പിൻ; ദൂരത്തുള്ള വംശങ്ങളേ, ശ്രദ്ധിപ്പിൻ; യഹോവ എന്നെ ഗർഭംമുതൽ വിളിച്ചു; എന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ ഉദരത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കയിൽ തന്നേ എന്റെ പേർ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
Pay attention, you islands, and listen closely, you far away peoples. The Lord has called me from the womb; from the womb of my mother, he has been mindful of my name.
2 അവൻ എന്റെ വായെ മൂർച്ചയുള്ള വാൾപോലെയാക്കി തന്റെ കയ്യുടെ നിഴലിൽ എന്നെ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചു; അവൻ എന്നെ മിനുക്കിയ അമ്പാക്കി തന്റെ പൂണയിൽ മറെച്ചുവെച്ചു, എന്നോടു:
And he has appointed my mouth as a sharp sword. In the shadow of his hand, he has protected me. And he has appointed me as an elect arrow. In his quiver, he has hidden me.
3 യിസ്രായേലേ, നീ എന്റെ ദാസൻ; ഞാൻ നിന്നിൽ മഹത്വീകരിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
And he has said to me: “You are my servant, Israel. For in you, I will glory.”
4 ഞാനോ; ഞാൻ വെറുതെ അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചു; എന്റെ ശക്തിയെ വ്യർത്ഥമായും നിഷ്ഫലമായും ചെലവഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; എങ്കിലും എന്റെ ന്യായം യഹോവയുടെ പക്കലും എന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പക്കലും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
And I said: “I have labored toward emptiness. I have consumed my strength without purpose and in vain. Therefore, my judgment is with the Lord, and my work is with my God.”
5 ഇപ്പോഴോ, യാക്കോബിനെ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ തിരിച്ചുവരുത്തുവാനും യിസ്രായേലിനെ തനിക്കുവേണ്ടി ശേഖരിപ്പാനും എന്നെ ഗർഭത്തിൽ തന്റെ ദാസനായി നിർമ്മിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു - ഞാൻ യഹോവെക്കു മാന്യനും എന്റെ ദൈവം എന്റെ ബലവും ആകുന്നു:
And now, says the Lord, who formed me from the womb as his servant, so that I may bring back Jacob to him, for Israel will not be gathered together, but I have been glorified in the eyes of the Lord and my God has become my strength,
6 നീ യാക്കോബിന്റെ ഗോത്രങ്ങളെ എഴുന്നേല്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും യിസ്രായേലിൽ സൂക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരെ തിരിച്ചുവരുത്തേണ്ടതിന്നും എനിക്കു ദാസനായിരിക്കുന്നതു പോരാ; എന്റെ രക്ഷ ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റത്തോളം എത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ജാതികൾക്കു പ്രകാശമാക്കിവെച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
and so he has said: “It is a small thing that you should be my servant so as to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and so as to convert the dregs of Israel. Behold, I have offered you as a light for the Gentiles, so that you may be my salvation, even to the furthest regions of the earth.”
7 യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനും അവന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധനുമായ യഹോവ, സർവ്വനിന്ദിതനും ജാതിക്കു വെറുപ്പുള്ളവനും അധിപതികളുടെ ദാസനുമായവനോടു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: വിശ്വസ്തനായ യഹോവനിമിത്തവും നിന്നെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത യിസ്രായേലിൻ പരിശുദ്ധൻ നിമിത്തവും രാജാക്കന്മാർ കണ്ടു എഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ കണ്ടു നമസ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.
Thus says the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, to a contemptible soul, to an abominable nation, to the servant of lords: The kings will see, and the princes will rise up, and they will adore, because of the Lord. For he is faithful, and he is the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.
8 യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: പ്രസാദകാലത്തു ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ഉത്തരം അരുളി; രക്ഷാദിവസത്തിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സഹായിച്ചു; ദേശത്തെ ഉയർത്തുവാനും ശൂന്യമായി കിടക്കുന്ന അവകാശങ്ങളെ കൈവശമാക്കിക്കൊടുപ്പാനും ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോടു: ഇറങ്ങിപെയ്ക്കൊൾവിൻ എന്നും അന്ധകാരത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവരോടു: വെളിയിൽ വരുവിൻ എന്നും പറവാനും ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കാത്തു,
Thus says the Lord: In a pleasing time, I have heeded you, and in the day of salvation, I have assisted you. And I have preserved you, and I have presented you as a covenant of the people, so that you would lift up the earth, and possess the scattered inheritances,
9 നിന്നെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നിയമമാക്കി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അവർ വഴികളിൽ മേയും; എല്ലാപാഴ്കുന്നുകളിലും അവർക്കു മേച്ചലുണ്ടാകും.
so that you would say to those who are bound, “Go forth!” and to those who are in darkness, “Be released!” They will pasture along the roads, and their pastures will be in every open place.
10 അവർക്കു വിശക്കയില്ല, ദാഹിക്കയുമില്ല; മരീചികയും വെയിലും അവരെ ബാധിക്കയില്ല; അവരോടു കരുണയുള്ളവൻ അവരെ വഴിനടത്തുകയും നീരുറവുകൾക്കരികെ അവരെ കൊണ്ടുപോകയും ചെയ്യും.
They will not hunger or thirst, nor will the heat of the sun beat down upon them. For the one who takes pity on them will rule them, and he will give them to drink from fountains of waters.
11 ഞാൻ എന്റെ മലകളെയൊക്കെയും വഴിയാക്കും; എന്റെ പെരുവഴികൾ പൊങ്ങിയിരിക്കും.
And I will make all my mountains into a road, and my paths will be exalted.
12 ഇതാ, ഇവർ ദൂരത്തുനിന്നും ഇവർ വടക്കുനിന്നും പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നും ഇവർ സീനീംദേശത്തുനിന്നും വരുന്നു.
Behold, some will come from far away, and behold, others from the north and from the sea, and still others from the land of the south.
13 ആകാശമേ, ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിക്ക; ഭൂമിയേ, ആനന്ദിക്ക; പർവ്വതങ്ങളേ, പൊട്ടി ആർക്കുവിൻ; യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; തന്റെ അരിഷ്ടന്മാരോടു കരുണ കാണിക്കുന്നു.
Give praise, O heavens! And exult, O earth! Let the mountains give praise with jubilation! For the Lord has consoled his people, and he will take pity on his poor ones.
14 സീയോനോ: യഹോവ എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, കർത്താവു എന്നെ മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
And Zion said: “The Lord has abandoned me, and the Lord has forgotten me.”
15 ഒരു സ്ത്രീ തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞിനെ മറക്കുമോ? താൻ പ്രസവിച്ച മകനോടു കരുണ, തോന്നാതിരിക്കുമോ? അവർ മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞാലും ഞാൻ നിന്നെ മറക്കയില്ല.
Can a woman forget her infant, so as not to take pity on the child of her womb? But even if she would forget, still I shall never forget you.
16 ഇതാ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ എന്റെ ഉള്ളങ്കയ്യിൽ വരെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ മതിലുകൾ എല്ലായ്പോഴും എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
Behold, I have engraved you on my hands. Your walls are always before my eyes.
17 നിന്റെ മക്കൾ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു വരുന്നു; നിന്നെ നശിപ്പിച്ചവരും ശൂന്യമാക്കിയവരും നിന്നെ വിട്ടുപോകുന്നു.
Your builders have arrived. Those who would tear you down and destroy you, they will depart from you.
18 തലപൊക്കി ചുറ്റും നോക്കുക; ഇവർ എല്ലാവരും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു കൂടുന്നു. എന്നാണ, നീ അവരെ ഒക്കെയും ആഭരണംപോലെ അണികയും ഒരു മണവാട്ടി എന്നപോലെ അവരെ അരെക്കു കെട്ടുകയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
Lift up your eyes all around, and see: all these have been gathered together; they have come to you. As I live, says the Lord, you shall be clothed with all these things, as if with an ornament. And like a bride, you shall wrap these things all around you.
19 നിന്റെ ശൂന്യസ്ഥലങ്ങളും പാഴിടങ്ങളും നാശം ഭവിച്ച ദേശവുമോ ഇപ്പോൾ നിവാസികൾക്കു പോരാതെവരും; നിന്നെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞവർ ദൂരത്തു അകന്നിരിക്കും.
For your deserts, and your solitary places, and the land of your ruination will now be too narrow, because of all the inhabitants. And those who devoured you will be chased far away.
20 നിന്റെ പുത്രഹീനതയിലെ മക്കൾ: സ്ഥലം പോരാതിരിക്കുന്നു; പാർപ്പാൻ സ്ഥലം തരിക എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറയും.
Even the children of your barrenness will say in your ears: “This place is too narrow for me. Make me a spacious place in which to dwell.”
21 അപ്പോൾ നീ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ: ഞാൻ പുത്രഹീനയും വന്ധ്യയും പ്രവാസിനിയും അലഞ്ഞു നടക്കുന്നവളും ആയിരിക്കേ ആർ ഇവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചു വളർത്തിത്തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു? ഞാൻ ഏകാകിയായിരുന്നുവല്ലോ; ഇവർ എവിടെ ആയിരുന്നു എന്നു പറയും.
And you will say in your heart: “Who has conceived them? I was barren and unable to give birth. I was taken away and held captive. And so, who has raised them? I was destitute and alone. And so, where have they been?”
22 യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ ജാതികൾക്കു എന്റെ കൈ ഉയർത്തുകയും വംശങ്ങൾക്കു എന്റെ കൊടി കാണിക്കയും ചെയ്യും; അവർ നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ തങ്ങളുടെ മാർവ്വിൽ അണെച്ചും പുത്രിമാരെ തോളിൽ എടുത്തും കൊണ്ടു വരും.
Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will lift up my hand to the Gentiles, and I will exalt my sign before the peoples. And they will carry your sons in their arms, and they will bear your daughters on their shoulders.
23 രാജാക്കന്മാർ നിന്റെ പോറ്റപ്പന്മാരും അവരുടെ രാജ്ഞികൾ നിന്റെ പോറ്റമ്മമാരും ആയിരിക്കും; അവർ നിന്നെ സാഷ്ടാംഗം വണങ്ങി, നിന്റെ കാലിലെ പൊടി നക്കും; ഞാൻ യഹോവ എന്നും എനിക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവർ ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകയില്ല എന്നും നീ അറിയും.
And kings will be your caretakers, and queens will be your nursemaids. They will reverence you with their face to the ground, and they will lick the dust at your feet. And you will know that I am the Lord. For those who hope in him will not be confounded.
24 ബലവാനോടു അവന്റെ കവർച്ച എടുത്തുകളയാമോ? അല്ല, നിഷ്കണ്ടകന്റെ ബദ്ധന്മാരെ വിടുവിക്കാമോ?
Can prey be taken from the strong? Or is anything taken captive by the powerful able to be saved?
25 എന്നാൽ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ബലവാനോടു ബദ്ധന്മാരെ എടുത്തുകളയാം; നിഷ്കണ്ടകന്റെ കവർച്ചയെയും വിടുവിക്കാം; നിന്നോടു പോരാടുന്നവനോടു ഞാൻ പോരാടുകയും നിന്റെ മക്കളെ രക്ഷിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.
For thus says the Lord: Certainly, even the captives will be taken away from the strong, even what has been taken by the powerful will be saved. And truly, I will judge those who have judged you, and I will save your children.
26 നിന്നെ ഞെരുക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ അവരുടെ സ്വന്തമാംസം തീറ്റും; വീഞ്ഞുപോലെ സ്വന്തരക്തം കുടിച്ചു അവർക്കു ലഹരി പിടിക്കും; യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ രക്ഷിതാവും യാക്കോബിന്റെ വീരൻ നിന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനും ആകുന്നു എന്നു സകലജഡവും അറിയും.
And I will feed your enemies their own flesh. And they will be inebriated with their own blood, as with new wine. And all flesh will know that I am the Lord, who saves you, and your Redeemer, the Strong One of Jacob.
