ഉല്പത്തി 9
1 ദൈവം നോഹയെയും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവരോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങൾ സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകി ഭൂമിയിൽ നിറവിൻ.
So God blessed Noah and his sons, —and said to them Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth;
2 നിങ്ങളെയുള്ള പേടിയും നടുക്കവും ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ആകാശത്തിലെ എല്ലാപറവകൾക്കും സകല ഭൂചരങ്ങൾക്കും സമുദ്രത്തിലെ സകലമത്സ്യങ്ങൾക്കും ഉണ്ടാകും; അവയെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
and let the fear of you and the dread of you be upon every living creature of the earth, and upon every bird of the heavens, —over everything that moveth along on the ground, and over all the fishes of the sea, —into your hand, have they been given.
3 ഭൂചരജന്തുക്കളൊക്കെയും നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആഹാരം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ; പച്ചസസ്യംപോലെ ഞാൻ സകലവും നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.
As for every moving thing that hath life, yours, shall it be, for food, —Like the green herb, have I given you all things.
4 പ്രാണനായിരിക്കുന്ന രക്തത്തോടുകൂടെ മാത്രം നിങ്ങൾ മാംസം തിന്നരുതു.
Yet flesh with the life thereof, the blood thereof, shall ye not eat;
5 നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രാണനായിരിക്കുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്തത്തിന്നു ഞാൻ പകരം ചോദിക്കും; സകലമൃഗത്തോടും മനുഷ്യനോടും ചോദിക്കും; അവനവന്റെ സഹോദരനോടും ഞാൻ മനുഷ്യന്റെ പ്രാണന്നു പകരം ചോദിക്കും.
And surely your blood, of your lives, will I require, From the hand of every living creature, will I require it, —and from the hand of man From the hand of each one’s brother, will I require the life of man:
6 ആരെങ്കിലും മനുഷ്യന്റെ രക്തം ചൊരിയിച്ചാൽ അവന്റെ രക്തം മനുഷ്യൻ ചൊരിയിക്കും; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്വരൂപത്തിലല്ലോ മനുഷ്യനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയതു.
He that sheddeth man’s blood, by man, shall his blood be shed, —For, in the image of God, made he man.
7 ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവരായി പെരുകുവിൻ; ഭൂമിയിൽ അനവധിയായി പെറ്റു പെരുകുവിൻ.
Ye, therefore, be fruitful and multiply, swarm in the earth and multiply therein.
8 ദൈവം പിന്നെയും നോഹയോടും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരോടും അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:
And God spake unto Noah, and unto his sons with him saying:
9 ഞാൻ, ഇതാ, നിങ്ങളോടും നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്തതിയോടും
I, therefore, behold me! establishing my covenant with you, —and with your seed after you;
10 ഭൂമിയിൽ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉള്ള പക്ഷികളും കന്നുകാലികളും കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളുമായ സകലജീവജന്തുക്കളോടും പെട്ടകത്തിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട സകലവുമായി ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലമൃഗങ്ങളോടും ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
and with every living soul that is with you, of birds, of tame-beasts and of all wild-beasts of the earth that are with you, —of all coming forth out of the ark, even to all wild-beasts of the earth;
11 ഇനി സകലജഡവും ജലപ്രളയത്താൽ നശിക്കയില്ല; ഭൂമിയെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ഇനി ജലപ്രളയം ഉണ്ടാകയുമില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു ഒരു നിയമം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
yea, I will establish my covenant with you, so that all flesh shall not be cut off any more, by reason of the waters of a flood, —neither shall there be any more a flood to destroy the earth.
12 പിന്നെയും ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: ഞാനും നിങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഉള്ള സകലജീവജന്തുക്കളും തമ്മിൽ തലമുറതലമുറയോളം സദാകാലത്തേക്കും ചെയ്യുന്ന നിയമത്തിന്റെ അടയാളം ആവിതു:
And God said, This, is the sign of the covenant which I am granting betwixt me and you, and every living soul that is with you, —to age-abiding generations: —
13 ഞാൻ എന്റെ വില്ലു മേഘത്തിൽ വെക്കുന്നു; അതു ഞാനും ഭൂമിയും തമ്മിലുള്ള നിയമത്തിന്നു അടയാളമായിരിക്കും.
My bow, have I set in the cloud, —and it shall be for a sign of a covenant, betwixt me and the earth;
14 ഞാൻ ഭൂമിയുടെ മീതെ മേഘം വരുത്തുമ്പോൾ മേഘത്തിൽ വില്ലു കാണും.
and it shall be when I draw a veil of cloud over the earth, —and the bow in the cloud appeareth,
15 അപ്പോൾ ഞാനും നിങ്ങളും സർവ്വജഡവുമായ സകലജീവജന്തുക്കളും തമ്മിലുള്ള എന്റെ നിയമം ഞാൻ ഓർക്കും; ഇനി സകലജഡത്തെയും നശിപ്പിപ്പാൻ വെള്ളം ഒരു പ്രളയമായി തീരുകയുമില്ല.
then will I remember my covenant which is betwixt me and you, and every living soul among all flesh, —that the waters may no more become a flood, to destroy all flesh:
16 വില്ലു മേഘത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടാകും; ദൈവവും ഭൂമിയിലെ സർവ്വജഡവുമായ സകലജീവികളും തമ്മിൽ എന്നേക്കുമുള്ള നിയമം ഓർക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ അതിനെ നോക്കും.
so the bow shall be in the cloud, —and I will behold it, to remember an age-abiding covenant, between God, and every living soul among all flesh that is on the earth.
17 ഞാൻ ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള സർവ്വ ജഡത്തോടും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന നിയമത്തിന്നു ഇതു അടയാളം എന്നും ദൈവം നോഹയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
And God said unto Noah, This is the sign of the covenant which have established, between me and all flesh that is on the earth.
18 പെട്ടകത്തിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടവരായ നോഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ ശേമും ഹാമും യാഫെത്തും ആയിരുന്നു; ഹാം എന്നവനോ കനാന്റെ പിതാവു.
And the sons of Noah who came forth out of the ark, were—Shem and Ham and Japheth, —now, Ham, was the father of Canaan.
19 ഇവർ മൂവരും നോഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ; അവരെക്കൊണ്ടു ഭൂമി ഒക്കെയും നിറഞ്ഞു.
These three, were the sons of Noah, —and from these, was all the earth overspread.
20 നോഹ കൃഷിചെയ്‌വാൻ തുടങ്ങി; ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി.
And Noah began to be a husbandman, —so he planted a vineyard:
21 അവൻ അതിലെ വീഞ്ഞുകുടിച്ചു ലഹരിപിടിച്ചു തന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിൽ വസ്ത്രം നീങ്ങി കിടന്നു.
and dank of the wine and became drunk, and uncovered himself in the midst of his tent.
22 കനാന്റെ പിതാവായ ഹാം പിതാവിന്റെ നഗ്നത കണ്ടു വെളിയിൽ ചെന്നു തന്റെ രണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാരെയും അറിയിച്ചു.
And Ham the father of Canaan saw his father’s shame, —and told his two brethren outside.
23 ശേമും യാഫെത്തും ഒരു വസ്ത്രം എടുത്തു, ഇരുവരുടെയും തോളിൽ ഇട്ടു വിമുഖരായി ചെന്നു പിതാവിന്റെ നഗ്നത മറെച്ചു; അവരുടെ മുഖം തിരിഞ്ഞിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ പിതാവിന്റെ നഗ്നത കണ്ടില്ല.
And Shem and Japheth took a mantle, and put it on the shoulder of them both and went backwards, and covered the shame of their father, but their faces were backwards, and the shame of their father, saw they not.
24 നോഹ ലഹരിവിട്ടുണർന്നപ്പോൾ തന്റെ ഇളയമകൻ ചെയ്തതു അറിഞ്ഞു.
And Noah awoke from his wine, —and came to know what his youngest son had done to him.
25 അപ്പോൾ അവൻ: കനാൻ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ; അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർക്കു അധമദാസനായ്തീരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And he said, Accursed be Canaan, —a servant of servants, shall he be to his brethren!
26 ശേമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ സ്തുതിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ; കനാൻ അവരുടെ ദാസനാകും.
And he said, Blessed be Yahweh, God of Shem, —And let Canaan be their servant:
27 ദൈവം യാഫെത്തിനെ വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ; അവൻ ശേമിന്റെ കൂടാരങ്ങളിൽ വസിക്കും; കനാൻ അവരുടെ ദാസനാകും എന്നും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
God give extension to Japheth, But make his habitation in the tents of Shem, And let Canaan be their servant.
28 ജലപ്രളയത്തിന്റെ ശേഷം നോഹ മുന്നൂറ്റമ്പതു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു.
And Noah lived after the flood, —three hundred and fifty years:
29 നോഹയുടെ ആയുഷ്കാലം ആകെ തൊള്ളായിരത്തമ്പതു സംവത്സരമായിരുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവൻ മരിച്ചു.
so, all the days of Noah, were—nine hundred and fifty years, —and he died.
