യെഹെസ്കേൽ 33
1 യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ;
A message from the Lord came to me, saying,
2 മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ നിന്റെ സ്വജാതിക്കാരോടു പ്രവചിച്ചു പറയേണ്ടതു: ഞാൻ ഒരു ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരെ വാൾ വരുത്തുമ്പോൾ, ആ ദേശത്തിലെ ജനം തങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽനിന്നു ഒരു പുരുഷനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു കാവല്ക്കാരനായിവെച്ചാൽ,
“Son of man, tell your people: If I brought an army to attack a country, the people there would choose one of them to be their watchman.
3 ദേശത്തിന്റെ നേരെ വാൾ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവൻ കാഹളം ഊതി ജനത്തെ ഓർമ്മപ്പെടുത്തുമ്പോൾ
When he saw the army advancing to attack the country, he would blow the trumpet to warn everyone.
4 ആരെങ്കിലും കാഹളനാദം കേട്ടു കരുതിക്കൊള്ളാതെ ഇരുന്നാൽ, വാൾ വന്നു അവനെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അവന്റെ രക്തം അവന്റെ തലമേൽ തന്നേ ഇരിക്കും.
So if you hear the trumpet but don't pay attention to the warning, and you're killed in the attack, you will be responsible for your own death.
5 അവൻ കാഹളനാദം കേട്ടിട്ടു കരുതിക്കൊണ്ടില്ല; അവന്റെ രക്തം അവന്റെമേൽ ഇരിക്കും; കരുതിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ അവൻ തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിക്കുമായിരുന്നു.
Since you heard the trumpet but didn't pay attention to the warning, then you will be responsible for your own death. If you had paid attention the warning, you could have saved your life.
6 എന്നാൽ കാവല്ക്കാരൻ വാൾ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു കാഹളം ഊതാതെയും ജനം കരുതിക്കൊള്ളാതെയും ഇരുന്നിട്ടു വാൾ വന്നു അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു ഒരുത്തനെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുന്നു എങ്കിൽ, ഇവൻ തന്റെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം ഛേദിക്കപ്പെട്ടുപോയി എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ രക്തം ഞാൻ കാവല്ക്കാരനോടു ചോദിക്കും.
But if the watchman saw the attack coming and didn't blow the trumpet to warn everyone, and someone is killed, then that person will die in their sins, but I will hold the watchman responsible for their death.
7 അതുപോലെ മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തിന്നു കാവല്ക്കാരനാക്കി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, നീ എന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു വചനം കേട്ടു എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ അവരെ ഓർമ്മപ്പെടുത്തേണം.
Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for the people of Israel. Listen to what I tell you and warn them for me.
8 ഞാൻ ദുഷ്ടനോടു: ദുഷ്ടാ, നീ മരിക്കും എന്നു കല്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ ദുഷ്ടൻ തന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടുതിരിവാൻ കരുതിക്കൊള്ളത്തക്കവണ്ണം നീ അവനെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കാതെയിരുന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടൻ തന്റെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം മരിക്കും; അവന്റെ രക്തമോ ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും.
If I tell the wicked ‘You're wicked; you're going to die’; but you don't warn them to change what they're doing, then they'll die in their sins and I will hold your responsible for their deaths.
9 എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടൻ തന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടുതിരിയേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അവനെ ഓർമ്മപ്പെടുത്തീട്ടും അവൻ തന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടുതിരിയാഞ്ഞാൽ, അവൻ തന്റെ അകൃത്യംനിമിത്തം മരിക്കും; നീയോ, നിന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
But if you warn the wicked to change what they're doing, and they don't, they will die in their sins, but you will save your own life.
10 അതുകൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ യിസ്രായേൽ ഗൃഹത്തോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: ഞങ്ങളുടെ അതിക്രമങ്ങളും പാപങ്ങളും ഞങ്ങളുടെമേൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ എങ്ങനെ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കും എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു.
Son of man, tell the people of Israel that this is what they've been saying, ‘We recognize our sins and wrongs, and they weigh on us, wearing us out. How can we go on living?’
11 എന്നാണ, ദുഷ്ടന്റെ മരണത്തിൽ അല്ല, ദുഷ്ടൻ തന്റെ വഴി വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു ജീവിക്കുന്നതിൽ അത്രേ എനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളതെന്നു യഹോവയായ കർത്താവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാടു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദുർമ്മാർഗ്ഗങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുതിരിവിൻ, തിരിവിൻ; യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹമേ, നിങ്ങൾ എന്തിന്നു മരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു പറക.
Tell them: As I live, declares the Lord God, it brings me no pleasure when wicked people die. I wish they would stop sinning and live! Stop! Stop sinning! Why should you die, people of Israel?
12 മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നീ നിന്റെ സ്വജാതിക്കാരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: നീതിമാൻ അതിക്രമം ചെയ്യുന്ന നാളിൽ അവന്റെ നീതി അവനെ രക്ഷിക്കയില്ല; ദുഷ്ടൻ തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വിട്ടുതിരിയുന്ന നാളിൽ തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടതയാൽ ഇടറിവീഴുകയില്ല; നീതിമാൻ പാപം ചെയ്യുന്ന നാളിൽ, അവന്നു തന്റെ നീതിയാൽ ജീവിപ്പാൻ കഴികയുമില്ല.
So, son of man, tell your people: All the good things a good person has done won't save them when they sin; while the bad things a bad person has done won't be a problem for them if they stop sinning. But good people won't live if they start sinning.
13 നീതിമാൻ ജീവിക്കുമെന്നു ഞാൻ അവനോടു പറയുമ്പോൾ, അവൻ തന്റെ നീതിയിൽ ആശ്രയിച്ചു അകൃത്യം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ, അവന്റെ നീതിപ്രവൃത്തികൾ ഒന്നും അവന്നു കണക്കിടുകയില്ല; അവൻ ചെയ്ത നീതികേടുനിമിത്തം അവൻ മരിക്കും.
If I tell a good person that they will live and then they rely on their goodness and start sinning, then none of the good things they did will be remembered; he will die because of the sins.
14 എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ ദുഷ്ടനോടു: നീ മരിക്കും എന്നു പറയുമ്പോൾ അവൻ തന്റെ പാപം വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു നീതിയും ന്യായവും പ്രവർത്തിക്കയും
But if I tell a bad person, ‘You're going to die’ and they stop sinning and do what is good and right,
15 പണയം തിരികെ കൊടുക്കയും അപഹരിച്ചതു മടക്കിക്കൊടുക്കയും നീതികേടു ഒന്നും ചെയ്യാതെ ജീവന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളെ അനുസരിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ അവൻ മരിക്കാതെ ജീവിക്കും.
if they return security given for a loan, pay back what they've stolen, and follows my laws about how to live, not doing wrong—then they will live; they won't die.
16 അവൻ ചെയ്ത പാപം ഒന്നും അവന്നു കണക്കിടുകയില്ല; അവൻ നീതിയും ന്യായവും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ ജീവിക്കും.
None of their sins will be remembered; they have done what is good and right and so they will live.
17 എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ സ്വജാതിക്കാർ: കർത്താവിന്റെ വഴി ചൊവ്വുള്ളതല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നു; അവരുടെ വഴിയത്രേ ചൊവ്വില്ലാതെയിരിക്കുന്നതു.
However, your people are complaining, ‘What the Lord does isn't right.’ But it's what they're doing that isn't right.
18 നീതിമാൻ തന്റെ നീതി വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു നീതികേടു പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ അവൻ അതിനാൽ തന്നേ മരിക്കും.
If a good person stops doing good and sins, they will die because of it.
19 എന്നാൽ ദുഷ്ടൻ തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടത വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു നീതിയും ന്യായവും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ അവൻ അതിനാൽ ജീവിക്കും.
On the other hand, if a bad person turns from their sins and they do what is good and right, they will live as a result.
20 എന്നിട്ടും കർത്താവിന്റെ വഴി ചൊവ്വുള്ളതല്ല എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു; യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹമേ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളിൽ ഓരോരുത്തനെയും അവനവന്റെ നടപ്പിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം ന്യായം വിധിക്കും.
So how can you say, ‘What the Lord does isn't right’? Well, I'm going to judge each of you depending on what you've done, people of Israel.”
21 ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവാസത്തിന്റെ പന്ത്രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടു, പത്താം മാസം, അഞ്ചാം തിയ്യതി, യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നു ചാടിപ്പോയ ഒരുത്തൻ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: നഗരം പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടുപോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
On the fifth day of the tenth month of the twelfth year of our exile, a refugee who'd escaped from Jerusalem arrived and told me, “The city has been captured!”
22 ചാടിപ്പോയവൻ വരുന്നതിന്റെ തലെനാൾ വൈകുന്നേരം യഹോവയുടെ കൈ എന്റെമേൽ വന്നു; രാവിലെ അവൻ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുമ്പോഴേക്കു യഹോവ എന്റെ വായ് തുറന്നിരുന്നു; അങ്ങനെ എന്റെ വായ് തുറന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ പിന്നെ മിണ്ടാതെ ഇരുന്നില്ല.
The previous evening before the messenger arrived the Lord had touched me so I could speak again. This was before the man came to see me in the morning. I wasn't mute any longer—I could speak again.
23 യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ: മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ,
A message from the Lord came to me, saying,
24 യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തിലെ ശൂന്യസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ പാർക്കുന്നവർ: അബ്രഹാം ഏകനായിരിക്കെ അവന്നു ദേശം അവകാശമായി ലഭിച്ചു; ഞങ്ങളോ പലരാകുന്നു; ഈ ദേശം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു അവകാശമായി ലഭിക്കും എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
“Son of man, people living among the ruins in Israel are saying, ‘Abraham was only one man, but the country was given to him to own. There's plenty of us, so the country should belong to us.’
25 അതുകൊണ്ടു നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ മാംസം രക്തത്തോടുകൂടെ തിന്നുകയും നിങ്ങളുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ നോക്കി നമസ്കരിക്കയും രക്തം ചൊരികയും ചെയ്യുന്നു;
So tell them that this is what the Lord God says: You eat meat with the blood still in it. You go and worship your idols. You commit murder. Do you really think the country should belong to you?
26 നിങ്ങൾ ദേശത്തെ കൈവശമാക്കുമോ? നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളുടെ വാളിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കയും മ്ലേച്ഛത പ്രവർത്തിക്കയും ഓരോരുത്തനും തന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ വഷളാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ദേശത്തെ കൈവശമാക്കുമോ?
You rely on your swords to get your way. You have done some disgusting things. You're all having sex with each other's wives. Should the country belong to you?
27 നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു: യഹോവയായ കർത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: എന്നാണ, ശൂന്യസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ പാർക്കുന്നവർ വാൾകൊണ്ടു വീഴും; വെളിമ്പ്രദേശത്തുള്ളവരെ ഞാൻ മൃഗങ്ങൾക്കു ഇരയായി കൊടുക്കും; ദുർഗ്ഗങ്ങളിലും ഗുഹകളിലും ഉള്ളവരോ മഹാമാരികൊണ്ടു മരിക്കും.
Tell them that this is what the Lord God says: As I live, in the people living among the ruins will be killed by the sword. Those living in the countryside will be eaten by wild animals. Those living in the fortresses and caves will die from disease.
28 ഞാൻ ദേശത്തെ പാഴും ശൂന്യവും ആക്കും; അതിന്റെ ബലത്തിന്റെ പ്രതാപം നിന്നുപോകും; യിസ്രായേൽപർവ്വതങ്ങൾ ആരും വഴിപോകാതവണ്ണം ശൂന്യമായിത്തീരും.
I will turn the country into a wasteland, and power you are so proud of will be ended. The mountains of Israel will become wild places that no one will want to travel through.
29 അവർ ചെയ്ത സകലമ്ലേച്ഛതകളുംനിമിത്തം ഞാൻ ദേശത്തെ പാഴും ശൂന്യവുമാക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ യഹോവ എന്നു അവർ അറിയും.
Then the people will acknowledge that I am the Lord, when I have turned the country into a wasteland because of all the disgusting things they have done.
30 മനുഷ്യപുത്രാ, നിന്റെ സ്വജാതിക്കാർ മതിലുകൾക്കരികത്തും വീട്ടുവാതില്ക്കലുംവെച്ചു നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സംഭാഷിച്ചു: യഹോവയിങ്കൽനിന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടു എന്തെന്നു വന്നു കേൾപ്പിൻ എന്നു തമ്മിൽതമ്മിലും ഓരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ സഹോദരനോടും പറയുന്നു.
Son of man, your people are talking about you out in the streets and in the doorways of their houses. They encourage one another, saying, ‘Come on! Let's go and hear a message from the Lord!’
31 സംഘം കൂടിവരുന്നതുപോലെ അവർ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽവന്നു എന്റെ ജനമായിട്ടു നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഇരുന്നു നിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേൾക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ അവർ അവയെ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ല; വായ്കൊണ്ടു അവർ വളരെ സ്നേഹം കാണിക്കുന്നു; ഹൃദയമോ, ദുരാഗ്രഹത്തെ പിന്തുടരുന്നു.
So my people come and visit you like they usually do. They sit and listen to the message you share, but they don't do anything about it. Even though they talk about love, all they're thinking about is how to cheat others.
32 നീ അവർക്കു മധുരസ്വരവും വാദ്യനൈപുണ്യവും ഉള്ള ഒരുത്തന്റെ പ്രേമഗീതംപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ നിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ കേൾക്കുന്നു; ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലതാനും.
In fact, to them you're just someone who sings love songs with a lovely voice and who is a fine musician. They listen to the message you share, but they don't do anything about it.
33 എന്നാൽ അതു സംഭവിക്കുമ്പോൾ - ഇതാ, അതു വരുന്നു - അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു അറിയും.
So when what you say does happen (and it will), then they will realize that they did have a prophet among them.”
