പുറപ്പാട് 2
1 എന്നാൽ ലേവികുടുംബത്തിലെ ഒരു പുരുഷൻ പോയി ഒരു ലേവ്യകന്യകയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
And there was a certain man of the tribe of Levi, who took to wife one of the daughters of Levi.
2 അവൾ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. അവൻ സൗന്ദര്യമുള്ളവൻ എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു അവനെ മൂന്നു മാസം ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ചു.
And she conceived, and bore a male child; and having seen that he was fair, they hid him three months.
3 അവനെ പിന്നെ ഒളിച്ചുവെപ്പാൻ കഴിയാതെ ആയപ്പോൾ അവൾ ഒരു ഞാങ്ങണപ്പെട്ടകം വാങ്ങി, അതിന്നു പശയും കീലും തേച്ചു, പൈതലിനെ അതിൽ കിടത്തി, നദിയുടെ അരികിൽ ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയിൽ വെച്ചു.
And when they could no longer hide him, his mother took for him an ark, and besmeared it with bitumen, and cast the child into it, and put it in the ooze by the river.
4 അവന്നു എന്തു ഭവിക്കുമെന്നു അറിവാൻ അവന്റെ പെങ്ങൾ ദൂരത്തു നിന്നു.
And his sister was watching from a distance, to learn what would happen to him.
5 അപ്പോൾ ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി നദിയിൽ കുളിപ്പാൻ വന്നു; അവളുടെ ദാസിമാർ നദീതീരത്തുകൂടി നടന്നു; അവൾ ഞാങ്ങണയുടെ ഇടയിൽ പെട്ടകം കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അതിനെ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ ദാസിയെ അയച്ചു.
And the daughter of Pharao came down to the river to bathe; and her maids walked by the river's side, and having seen the ark in the ooze, she sent her maid, and took it up.
6 അവൾ അതു തുറന്നാറെ പൈതലിനെ കണ്ടു: കുട്ടി ഇതാ, കരയുന്നു. അവൾക്കു അതിനോടു അലിവുതോന്നി: ഇതു എബ്രായരുടെ പൈതങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And having opened it, she sees the babe weeping in the ark: and the daughter of Pharao had compassion on it, and said, This [is one] of the Hebrew's children.
7 അവന്റെ പെങ്ങൾ ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രിയോടു: ഈ പൈതലിന്നു മുല കൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരു എബ്രായസ്ത്രീയെ ഞാൻ ചെന്നു വിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവരേണമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
And his sister said to the daughter of Pharao, Wilt thou that I call to thee a nurse of the Hebrews, and shall she suckle the child for thee?
8 ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി അവളോടു: ചെന്നു കൊണ്ടുവരിക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. കന്യക ചെന്നു പൈതലിന്റെ അമ്മയെ വിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
And the daughter of Pharao said, Go: and the young woman went, and called the mother of the child.
9 ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രി അവളോടു: നീ ഈ പൈതലിനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി മുലകൊടുത്തു വളർത്തേണം; ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ശമ്പളം തരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സ്ത്രീ പൈതലിനെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി മുലകൊടുത്തു വളർത്തി.
And the daughter of Pharao said to her, Take care of this child, and suckled it for me, and I will give thee the wages; and the woman took the child, and suckled it.
10 പൈതൽ വളർന്നശേഷം അവൾ അവനെ ഫറവോന്റെ പുത്രിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടു പോയി, അവൻ അവൾക്കു മകനായി: ഞാൻ അവനെ വെള്ളത്തിൽ നിന്നു വലിച്ചെടുത്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവൾ അവന്നു മോശെ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.
And when the boy was grown, she brought him to the daughter of Pharao, and he became her son; and she called his name, Moses, saying, I took him out of the water.
11 ആ കാലത്തു മോശെ മുതിർന്നശേഷം അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവരുടെ ഭാരമുള്ള വേല നോക്കി, തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരിൽ ഒരു എബ്രായനെ ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യൻ അടിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
And it came to pass in that length of time, that Moses having grown, went out to his brethren the sons of Israel: and having noticed their distress, he sees an Egyptian smiting a certain Hebrew of his brethren the children of Israel.
12 അവൻ അങ്ങോട്ടും ഇങ്ങോട്ടും നോക്കീട്ടു ആരും ഇല്ലെന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ മിസ്രയീമ്യനെ അടിച്ചു കൊന്നു മണലിൽ മറവുചെയ്തു.
And having looked round this way and that way, he sees no one; and he smote the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.
13 പിറ്റേ ദിവസവും അവൻ ചെന്നപ്പോൾ രണ്ടു എബ്രായ പുരുഷന്മാർ തമ്മിൽ ശണ്ഠയിടുന്നതു കണ്ടു, അന്യായം ചെയ്തവനോടു: നിന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനെ അടിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
And having gone out the second day he sees two Hebrew men fighting; and he says to the injurer, Wherefore smitest thou thy neighbour?
14 അതിന്നു അവൻ: നിന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു പ്രഭുവും ന്യായാധിപതിയും ആക്കിയവൻ ആർ? മിസ്രയീമ്യനെ കൊന്നതുപോലെ എന്നെയും കൊല്ലുവാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ കാര്യം പ്രസിദ്ധമായിപ്പോയല്ലോ എന്നു മോശെ പറഞ്ഞു പേടിച്ചു.
And he said, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us? wilt thou slay me as thou yesterday slewest the Egyptian? Then Moses was alarmed, and said, If [it be] thus, this matter has become known.
15 ഫറവോൻ ഈ കാര്യം കേട്ടാറെ മോശെയെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ അന്വേഷിച്ചു. മോശെ ഫറവോന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു ഓടിപ്പോയി, മിദ്യാൻദേശത്തു ചെന്നു പാർത്തു; അവൻ ഒരു കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ ഇരുന്നു.
And Pharao heard this matter, and sought to slay Moses; and Moses departed from the presence of Pharao, and dwelt in the land of Madiam; and having come into the land of Madiam, he sat on the well.
16 മിദ്യാനിലെ പുരോഹിതന്നു ഏഴു പുത്രിമാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവർ വന്നു അപ്പന്റെ ആടുകൾക്കു കുടിപ്പാൻ വെള്ളം കോരി തൊട്ടികൾ നിറെച്ചു.
And the priest of Madiam had seven daughters, feeding the flock of their father Jothor; and they came and drew water until they filled their pitchers, to water the flock of their father Jothor.
17 എന്നാൽ ഇടയന്മാർ വന്നു അവരെ ആട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു: അപ്പോൾ മോശെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവരെ സഹായിച്ചു അവരുടെ ആടുകളെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു.
And the shepherds came, and were driving them away; and Moses rose up and rescued them, and drew water for them, and watered their sheep.
18 അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പനായ റെഗൂവേലിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ: നിങ്ങൾ ഇന്നു ഇത്ര വേഗം വന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചു.
And they came to Raguel their father; and he said to them, Why have ye come so quickly to-day?
19 ഒരു മിസ്രയീമ്യൻ ഇടയന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വിടുവിച്ചു, ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വെള്ളം കോരിത്തന്നു ആടുകളെ കുടിപ്പിച്ചു എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
And they said, An Egyptian delivered us from the shepherds, and drew water for us and watered our sheep.
20 അവൻ തന്റെ പുത്രിമാരോടു: അവൻ എവിടെ? നിങ്ങൾ അവനെ വിട്ടേച്ചു പോന്നതെന്തു? ഭക്ഷണം കഴിപ്പാൻ അവനെ വിളിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And he said to his daughters, And where is he? and why have ye left the man? call him therefore, that he may eat bread.
21 മോശെക്കു അവനോടുകൂടെ പാർപ്പാൻ സമ്മതമായി; അവൻ മോശെക്കു തന്റെ മകൾ സിപ്പോറയെ കൊടുത്തു.
And Moses was established with the man, and he gave Sepphora his daughter to Moses to wife.
22 അവൾ ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു: ഞാൻ അന്യദേശത്തു പരദേശി ആയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു ഗേർശോം എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.
And the woman conceived and bore a son, and Moses called his name Gersam, saying, I am a sojourner in a strange land.
23 ഏറെ നാൾ കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു മിസ്രയീംരാജാവു മരിച്ചു. യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ അടിമവേല നിമിത്തം നെടുവീർപ്പിട്ടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അടിമവേല ഹേതുവായുള്ള നിലവിളി ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ എത്തി.
And in those days after a length of time, the king of Egypt died; and the children of Israel groaned because of their tasks, and cried, and their cry because of their tasks went up to God.
24 ദൈവം അവരുടെ നിലവിളി കേട്ടു; ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിനോടും യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടും യാക്കോബിനോടും തനിക്കുള്ള നിയമവും ഓർത്തു.
And God heard their groanings, and God remembered his covenant made with Abraam and Isaac and Jacob.
25 ദൈവം യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചു; ദൈവം അറിഞ്ഞു.
And God looked upon the children of Israel, and was made known to them.
