1 രാജാക്കന്മാർ 15

1 നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാംരാജാവിന്റെ പതിനെട്ടാം ആണ്ടിൽ അബിയാം യെഹൂദയിൽ വാണുതുടങ്ങി.

Now in the eighteenth year of king Jerobo'am the son of Nebat became Abiyam king over Judah.

2 അവൻ മൂന്നു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമിൽ വാണു; അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു മയഖാ എന്നു പേർ; അവൾ അബീശാലോമിന്റെ മകൾ ആയിരുന്നു.

Three years he reigned in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Ma'achah, the daughter of Abishalom.

3 തന്റെ അപ്പൻ മുമ്പെ ചെയ്തിരുന്ന സകലപാപങ്ങളിലും അവൻ നടന്നു; അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഹൃദയംപോലെ അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയിങ്കൽ ഏകാഗ്രമായിരുന്നില്ല.

And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him; and his heart was not entire with the Lord his God, like the heart of David his father.

4 എങ്കിലും ദാവീദിൻനിമിത്തം അവന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവന്റെ മകനെ അവന്റെ അനന്തരവനായി ഉയർത്തിയും യെരൂശലേമിനെ നിലനിർത്തിയുംകൊണ്ടു അവന്നു യെരൂശലേമിൽ ഒരു ദീപം നല്കി.

Nevertheless for the sake of David did the Lord his God give him a rule in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to allow Jerusalem to exist.

5 ദാവീദ് യഹോവെക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; ഹിത്യനായ ഊരീയാവിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിൽ മാത്രമല്ലാതെ അവൻ തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതിൽ ഒന്നും തന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലത്തൊരിക്കലും വിട്ടുമാറീട്ടില്ല.

Because David did what is right in the eyes of the Lord, and turned not aside from all that he had commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriyah the Hittite.

6 രെഹബെയാമും യൊരോബെയാമും തമ്മിൽ ജീവപര്യന്തം യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And there had been war between Rehobo'am and Jerobo'am all the days of his life.

7 അബീയാമിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവൻ ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. അബീയാമും യൊരോബെയാമും തമ്മിലും യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And the rest of the acts of Abiyam, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah. And there was [also] war between Abiyam and Jerobo'am.

8 അബിയാം തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; അവർ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ ആസാ അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

And Abiyam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Assa his son became king in his stead.

9 യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഇരുപതാം ആണ്ടിൽ ആസാ യെഹൂദയിൽ രാജാവായി.

And in the twentieth year of Jerobo'am the king of Israel became Assa king over Judah.

10 അവൻ നാല്പത്തൊന്നു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമിൽ വാണു; അവന്റെ അമ്മെക്കു മയഖാ എന്നു പേർ; അവൾ അബിശാലോമിന്റെ മകൾ ആയിരുന്നു.

And forty and one years did he reign in Jerusalem. And the name of his mother was Ma'achah, the daughter of Abishalom.

11 ആസാ തന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിനെപ്പോലെ യഹോവെക്കു പ്രസാദമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.

And Assa did what is right in the eyes of the Lord, like David his father.

12 അവൻ പുരുഷമൈഥുനക്കാരെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറത്താക്കി, തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന സകലവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

And he put away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols which his fathers had made.

13 തന്റെ അമ്മയായ മയഖ അശേരെക്കു ഒരു മ്ലേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹം ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ അവളെ രാജ്ഞിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; ആസാ അവളുടെ മ്ലേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹം വെട്ടിമുറിച്ചു കിദ്രോൻ തോട്ടിന്നരികെവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു.

And also Ma'achah his mother, even her he removed from being queen; because she had made a scandalous image for the grove; and Assa cut down her scandalous image, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.

14 എന്നാൽ പൂജാഗിരികൾക്കു നീക്കംവന്നില്ല. എങ്കിലും ആസയുടെ ഹൃദയം അവന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവയിങ്കൽ ഏകാഗ്രമായിരുന്നു.

But the high-places were not removed; nevertheless Assa's heart was entire with the Lord all his days.

15 വെള്ളി, പൊന്നു, ഉപകരണങ്ങൾ എന്നിങ്ങനെ തന്റെ അപ്പൻ നിവേദിച്ചതും താൻ തന്നേ നിവേദിച്ചതുമായ വസ്തുക്കളെ അവൻ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

And he brought the things which his father had sanctified, and his own sanctified things, into the house of the Lord, silver, and gold, and vessels.

16 ആസയും യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ബയെശയും തമ്മിൽ ജീവപര്യന്തം യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And there was war between Assa and Ba'sha the king of Israel all their days.

17 യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ബയെശാ യെഹൂദയുടെനേരെ വന്നു, യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ അടുക്കൽ പോക്കുവരുത്തിന്നു ആരെയും സമ്മതിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു രാമയെ പണിതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

And Ba'sha the king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, in order not to suffer any one to go out or come in to Assa the king of Judah.

18 അപ്പോൾ ആസാ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തിൽ ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന എല്ലാവെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും രാജധാനിയിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരവും എടുത്തു തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു; ആസാരാജാവു ദമ്മേശെക്കിൽ പാർത്ത ഹെസ്യോന്റെ മകനായ തബ്രിമ്മോന്റെ മകൻ ബെൻ-ഹദദ് എന്ന അരാംരാജാവിന്നു അവയെ കൊടുത്തയച്ചു:

Then did Assa take all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king's house, and gave them into the hand of his servants; and king Assa sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Chesyon, the king of Syria, who dwelt in Damascus, saying,

19 എനിക്കും നിനക്കും, എന്റെ അപ്പന്നും നിന്റെ അപ്പന്നും തമ്മിൽ സഖ്യത ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; ഇതാ, ഞാൻ നിനക്കു സമ്മാനമായി വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും കൊടുത്തയക്കുന്നു; യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ബയെശാ എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ ചെന്നു അവനോടുള്ള നിന്റെ സഖ്യത ത്യജിക്കേണം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

A covenant is between me and thee, [as] between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; go and do break thy covenant with Ba'sha the king of Israel, that he may withdraw from me.

20 ബെൻ-ഹദദ് ആസാരാജാവിന്റെ അപേക്ഷകേട്ടു, തന്റെ സേനാപതികളെ യിസ്രായേൽപട്ടണങ്ങൾക്കു നേരെ അയച്ചു ഈയോനും ദാനും ആബേൽ-ബേത്ത്-മയഖയും കിന്നെരോത്ത് മുഴുവനും നഫ്താലിദേശമൊക്കെയും പിടിച്ചടക്കി.

And Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Assa, and sent the captains of the armies which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote 'Iyon, and Dan, and Abel-beth-ma'achah, and the whole of Kinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.

21 ബയെശാ അതു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ രാമാ പണിയുന്നതു നിർത്തി തിർസ്സയിൽ തന്നേ പാർത്തു.

And it came to pass, when Ba'sha heard this, that he left off the building of Ramah, and remained in Tirzah.

22 ആസാരാജാവു ഒരു വിളംബരം പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കി ഒട്ടൊഴിയാതെ യെഹൂദയെ മുഴുവനും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി; അവർ ചെന്നു ബയെശാ പണിതു ഉറപ്പിച്ച രാമയുടെ കല്ലും മരവും എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ആസാരാജാവു അവകൊണ്ടു ബെന്യാമീനിലെ ഗേബയും മിസ്പയും പണിതു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു.

Then king Assa called together by proclamation all Judah, none being exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and its timber, wherewith Ba'sha had built; and king Assa built with them Geba' of Benjamin, and Mizpah.

23 ആസയുടെ മറ്റുള്ള സകല വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന്റെ സകലപരാക്രമപ്രവൃത്തികളും അവൻ ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും അവൻ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ പണിതതും യെഹൂദാരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ. എന്നാൽ അവന്റെ വാർദ്ധക്യകാലത്തു അവന്റെ കാലുകൾക്കു ദീനം പിടിച്ചു.

And the rest of all the acts of Assa, and all his mighty deeds, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah. Nevertheless in the time of his old age he became diseased in his feet.

24 ആസാ തന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെപ്പോലെ നിദ്രപ്രാപിച്ചു; തന്റെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തിൽ അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കൽ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

And Assa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son became king in his stead.

25 യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടിൽ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ മകനായ നാദാബ് യിസ്രായേലിൽ രാജാവായി; അവൻ രണ്ടു സംവത്സരം യിസ്രായേലിൽ വാണു.

And Nadab the son of Jerobo'am became king over Israel in the second year of Assa the king of Judah; and he reigned over Israel two years.

26 അവൻ യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു; തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വഴിയിലും അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപത്തിലും നടന്നു.

And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, and he walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he had induced Israel to sin.

27 എന്നാൽ യിസ്സാഖാർഗോത്രക്കാരനായ അഹിയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബയെശാ അവന്നു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി; ഫെലിസ്ത്യർക്കുള്ള ഗിബ്ബെഥോനിൽവെച്ചു അവനെ കൊന്നു; നാദാബും എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും ഗിബ്ബെഥോനെ വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

And Ba'sha the son of Achiyah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Ba'sha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines: while Nadab and all Israel were besieging Gibbethon.

28 ബയെശാ അവനെ യെഹൂദാ രാജാവായ ആസയുടെ മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ കൊന്നു; അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

And Ba'sha slew him in the third year of Assa the king of Judah, and became king in his stead.

29 അവൻ രാജാവായ ഉടനെ യൊരോബെയാംഗൃഹത്തെ മുഴുവനും നിഗ്രഹിച്ചു; യഹോവ ശിലോന്യനായ അഹിയാവു എന്ന തന്റെ ദാസൻമുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനപ്രകാരം അവൻ യൊരോബെയാമിന്നു ശ്വാസമുള്ള ഒന്നിനെയും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതെ അശേഷം മുടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jerobo'am; he left not any that breathed unto Jerobo'am, until he had destroyed him, according to the word of the Lord, which he had spoken by his servant Achiyah the Shilonite;

30 യൊരോബെയാം ചെയ്തതും യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ചതുമായ പാപങ്ങൾനിമിത്തവും അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതുനിമിത്തവും തന്നേ.

Because of the sins of Jerobo'am which he had sinned, and through which he had induced Israel to sin, by his provoking wherewith he provoked the Lord the God of Israel to anger.

31 നാദാബിന്റെ മറ്റുള്ള വൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവൻ ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും യിസ്രായേൽരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ വൃത്താന്തപുസ്തകത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

32 ആസയും യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവായ ബയെശയും തമ്മിൽ ജീവപര്യന്തം യുദ്ധം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And there was war between Assa and Ba'sha the king of Israel all their days.

33 യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ ആസയുടെ മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ അഹീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബയെശാ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും രാജാവായി തിർസ്സയിൽ ഇരുപത്തുനാലു സംവത്സരം വാണു.

In the third year of Assa the king of Judah became Ba'sha the son of Achiyah king over all Israel, in Thirzah, [for] twenty and four years.

34 അവൻ യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു. യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ വഴിയിലും അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ചെയ്യിച്ച പാപത്തിലും നടന്നു.

And he did what is evil in the eyes of the Lord, and walked in the way of Jerobo'am, and in his sin wherewith he had induced Israel to sin.
