1 യെഹൂദയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: പേരെസ്, ഹെസ്രോൻ, കർമ്മി, ഹൂർ, ശോബൽ.

The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.

2 ശോബലിന്റെ മകനായ രെയായാവു യഹത്തിനെ ജനപ്പിച്ചു; യഹത്ത് അഹൂമായിയെയും ലാഹദിനെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇവർ സോരത്യരുടെ കുലങ്ങൾ.

And Reaiah the son of Shobal begot Jahath. And Jahath begot Ahumai and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites.

3 ഏതാമിന്റെ അപ്പനിൽനിന്നുത്ഭവിച്ചവർ ഇവർ: യിസ്രെയേൽ, യിശ്മാ, യിദ്ബാശ്; അവരുടെ സഹോദരിക്കു ഹസ്സെലൊല്പോനി എന്നു പേർ.

And these were the sons of the father of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi;

4 പെനൂവേൽ ഗെദോരിന്റെ അപ്പനും, ഏസെർ ഹൂശയുടെ അപ്പനും ആയിരുന്നു. ഇവർ ബേത്ത്ലേഹെമിന്റെ അപ്പനായ എഫ്രാത്തയുടെ ആദ്യജാതനായ ഹൂരിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ.

and Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.

5 തെക്കോവയുടെ അപ്പനായ അശ്ഹൂരിന്നു ഹേലാ, നയരാ എന്ന രണ്ടു ഭാര്യമാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

6 നയരാ അവന്നു അഹുസ്സാം, ഹേഫെർ, തേമനി, ഹായഹസ്താരി എന്നിവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. ഇവർ നയരയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ.

And Naarah bore for him Ahuzzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.

7 ഹേലയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: സേരെത്ത്, യെസോഹർ, എത്നാൻ.

And the sons of Helah were Zereth, Izhar, and Ethnan.

8 കോസ് ആനൂബിനെയും സോബേബയെയും ഹാരൂമിന്റെ മകനായ അഹർഹേലിന്റെ കുലങ്ങളെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു.

And Hakkoz begot Anub, and Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.

9 യബ്ബേസ് തന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരെക്കാൾ ഏറ്റവും മാന്യൻ ആയിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ അമ്മ: ഞാൻ അവനെ വ്യസനത്തോടെ പ്രസവിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവന്നു യബ്ബേസ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

And Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. And his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bore him with sorrow.

10 യബ്ബേസ് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തോടു: നീ എന്നെ നിശ്ചയമായി അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു എന്റെ അതിർ വിസ്താരമാക്കുകയും നിന്റെ കൈ എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു അനർത്ഥം എനിക്കു വ്യസനകാരണമായി തീരാതവണ്ണം എന്നെ കാക്കുകയും ചെയ്താൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു. അവൻ അപേക്ഷിച്ചതിനെ ദൈവം അവന്നു നല്കി.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that thy hand might be with me, and that thou would keep me from evil, that it not be to my sorrow! And God granted him that which he requested.

11 ശൂഹയുടെ സഹോദരനായ കെലൂബ് മെഹീരിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; ഇവൻ എസ്തോന്റെ അപ്പൻ.

And Chelub the brother of Shuhah begot Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

12 എസ്തോൻ ബേത്ത്-രാഫയെയും പാസേഹയെയും ഈർനാഹാസിന്റെ അപ്പനായ തെഹിന്നയെയും ജനിപ്പിച്ചു. ഇവർ രേഖാനിവാസികൾ ആകുന്നു.

And Eshton begot Beth-rapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir-nahash. These are the men of Recah.

13 കെനസ്സിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഒത്നീയേൽ, സെരായാവു; ഒത്നീയേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഹഥത്ത്.

And the sons of Kenaz: Othniel, and Seraiah. And the sons of Othniel: Hathath.

14 മെയോനോഥയി ഒഫ്രയെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; സെരായാവു ഗേ-ഹരാശീമിന്റെ അപ്പനായ യോവാബിനെ ജനിപ്പിച്ചു; അവർ കൗശലപ്പണിക്കാർ ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

And Meonothai begot Ophrah. And Seraiah begot Joab the father of Ge-harashim, for they were craftsmen.

15 യെഫുന്നെയുടെ മകനായ കാലേബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഈരൂ, ഏലാ, നായം; ഏലയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: കെനസ്.

And the sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh: Iru, Elah, and Naam. And the sons of Elah: Kenaz.

16 യെഹലലേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: സീഫ്, സീഫാ, തീര്യാ, അസരെയേൽ.

And the sons of Jehallelel: Ziph, and Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.

17 എസ്രയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: യേഥെർ, മേരെദ്, ഏഫെർ, യാലോൻ എന്നിവരായിരുന്നു. അവൾ മിര്യാമിനെയും ശമ്മയെയും എസ്തെമോവയുടെ അപ്പനായ യിശ്ബഹിനെയും പ്രസവിച്ചു.

And the sons of Ezrah: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon. And she bore Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.

18 അവന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ യെഹൂദീയ ഗെദോരിന്റെ അപ്പനായ യേരെദിനെയും സോഖോവിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ഹേബെരിനെയും സാനോഹയുടെ അപ്പനായ യെക്കൂഥീയേലിനെയും പ്രസവിച്ചു. ഇവരാകുന്നു മേരെദ് പരിഗ്രഹിച്ച ഫറവോന്റെ മകളായ ബിഥ്യയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ.

And his wife the Jewess bore Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. And these are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.

19 നഹമിന്റെ സഹോദരിയും ഹോദീയാവിന്റെ ഭാര്യയുമായവളുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ഗർമ്മ്യനായ കെയീലയുടെ അപ്പനും മയഖാത്യനായ എസ്തെമോവയും തന്നേ.

And the sons of the wife of Hodiah, the sister of Naham, were the fathers of Keilah the Garmite, and Eshtemoa the Maacathite.

20 ശീമോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: അമ്നോൻ, രിന്നാ, ബെൻ-ഹാനാൻ, തീലോൻ. യിശിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: സോഹേത്ത്, ബെൻ-സോഹേത്ത്.

And the sons of Shimon: Amnon, and Rinnah, Ben-hanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi: Zoheth, and Ben-zoheth.

21 യെഹൂദയുടെ മകനായ ശേലയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: ലേഖയുടെ അപ്പനായ ഏരും മാരേശയുടെ അപ്പനായ ലദയും ബേത്ത്-അശ്ബെയയിൽ ശണപടം നെയ്യുന്ന കൈത്തൊഴില്ക്കാരുടെ കുലങ്ങളും;

The sons of Shelah the son of Judah: Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of those who worked fine linen, of the house of Ashbea;

22 യോക്കീമും കോസേബാനിവാസികളും മോവാബിൽ അധികാരം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന യോവാശ്, സാരാഫ് എന്നിവരും യാശുബീ-ലേഹെമും തന്നേ. ഇവ പുരാണവൃത്താന്തങ്ങൾ അല്ലോ.

and Jokim, and the men of Cozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who had dominion in Moab, and Jashubilehem. And the records are ancient.

23 ഇവർ നെതായീമിലും ഗെദേരയിലും പാർത്ത കുശവന്മാർ ആയിരുന്നു; അവർ രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ അവന്റെ വേല ചെയ്‌വാൻ അവിടെ പാർത്തു.

These were the potters, and the inhabitants of Netaim and Gederah. They dwelt there with the king for his work.

24 ശിമെയോന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ: നെമൂവേൽ, യാമീൻ, യാരീബ്, സേരഹ്, ശൗൽ;

The sons of Simeon: Nemuel, and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;

25 അവന്റെ മകൻ ശല്ലൂം; അവന്റെ മകൻ മിബ്ശാം; അവന്റെ മകൻ മിശ്മാ.

Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.

26 മിശ്മയുടെ പുത്രന്മാർ: അവന്റെ മകൻ ഹമ്മൂവേൽ; അവന്റെ മകൻ സക്കൂർ; അവന്റെ മകൻ ശിമെയി;

And the sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.

27 ശിമെയിക്കു പതിനാറു പുത്രന്മാരും ആറു പുത്രിമാരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർക്കു അധികം മക്കളില്ലായ്കയാൽ അവരുടെ കുലമെല്ലാം യെഹൂദാമക്കളോളം വർദ്ധിച്ചില്ല.

And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters, but his brothers did not have many sons, neither did all their family multiply like the sons of Judah.

28 അവർ ബേർ-ശേബയിലും

And they dwelt at Beersheba, and Moladah, and Hazarshual,

29 മോലാദയിലും ഹസർ-ശൂവാലിലും ബിൽഹയിലും

and at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad,

30 ഏസെമിലും തോലാദിലും ബെഥൂവേലിലും

and at Bethuel, and at Hormah, and at Ziklag,

31 ഹൊർമ്മയിലും സിക്ലാഗിലും ബേത്ത്-മർക്കാബോത്തിലും ഹസർ-സൂസീമിലും ബേത്ത്-ബിരിയിലും ശയരയീമിലും പാർത്തു. ഇവ ദാവീദിന്റെ വാഴ്ചവരെ അവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ ആയിരുന്നു.

and at Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susim, and at Beth-biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities to the reign of David.

32 അവരുടെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങൾ: ഏതാം, അയീൻ, രിമ്മോൻ, തോഖെൻ, ആശാൻ ഇങ്ങനെ അഞ്ചു പട്ടണവും

And their villages were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities.

33 ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെ ചുറ്റും ബാൽവരെ അവെക്കുള്ള സകലഗ്രാമങ്ങളും തന്നേ. ഇവ അവരുടെ വാസസ്ഥലങ്ങൾ. അവർക്കു സ്വന്തവംശാവലിയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

And all their villages that were round about the same cities, to Baal. These were their habitations, and they have their genealogy.

34 മെശോബാബ്, യമ്ലേക്, അമസ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യോശാ, യോവേൽ,

And Meshobab, and Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah,

35 അസീയേലിന്റെ മകനായ സെരായാവിന്റെ മകനായ യോശിബ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ യേഹൂ, എല്യോവേനായി,

and Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,

36 യയക്കോബാ, യെശോഹായാവു, അസായാവു, അദീയേൽ, യസീമീയേൽ,

and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,

37 ബെനായാവു, ശെമെയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ശിമ്രിയുടെ മകനായ യെദായാവിന്റെ മകനായ അല്ലോന്റെ മകനായ ശിഫിയുടെ മകനായ സീസാ;

and Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah-

38 പേർ വിവരം പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന ഇവർ തങ്ങളുടെ കുലങ്ങളിൽ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരായിരുന്നു; അവരുടെ പിതൃഭവനങ്ങൾ ഏറ്റവും വർദ്ധിച്ചിരുന്നു.

these mentioned by name were rulers in their families, and their fathers' houses increased greatly.

39 അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടങ്ങൾക്കു മേച്ചൽ തിരയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഗെദോർപ്രവേശനത്തോളം താഴ്‌വരയുടെ കിഴക്കുവശംവരെ യാത്രചെയ്തു.

And they went to the entrance of Gedor, even to the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.

40 അവർ പുഷ്ടിയുള്ളതും നല്ലതുമായ മേച്ചൽ കണ്ടെത്തി; ദേശം വിസ്താരവും സ്വസ്ഥതയും സമാധാനവും ഉള്ളതായിരുന്നു; അവിടത്തെ പൂർവ്വനിവാസികൾ ഹാംവംശക്കാരായിരുന്നു.

And they found lush and good pasture, and the land was wide and quiet and peaceable, for those who dwelt there formerly were of Ham.

41 പേർവിവരം എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഇവർ യെഹൂദ്യരാജാവായ യഹിസ്കീയാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു അവിടെ ചെന്നു അവരുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങളെയും അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന മെയൂന്യരെയും ആക്രമിച്ചു, ഇന്നുവരെ അവർക്കു നിർമ്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തുകയും അവിടെ തങ്ങളുടെ ആട്ടിൻ കൂട്ടങ്ങൾക്കു മേച്ചൽ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു അവർക്കു പകരം പാർക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents, and the Meunim who were found there, and destroyed them utterly to this day, and dwelt in their stead because there was pasture there for their flocks.

42 ശിമെയോന്യരായ ഇവരിൽ അഞ്ഞൂറുപേർ, യിശിയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരായ, പെലത്യാവു, നെയര്യാവു, രെഫായാവു, ഉസ്സീയേൽ എന്നീ തലവന്മാരോടുകൂടെ സേയീർപർവ്വതത്തിലേക്കു യാത്രചെയ്തു.

And some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.

43 അവർ അമാലേക്യരിൽ ചാടിപ്പോയിരുന്ന ശിഷ്ടജനത്തെ വെട്ടിക്കൊന്നു ഇന്നുവരെ അവിടെ പാർക്കുന്നു.

And they smote the remnant of the Amalekites who escaped, and have dwelt there to this day.
