< Salamo 44 >

1 Ry Andrianañahare, fa jinanjin-dravembia’ay, fa natalilin-droae’ay o fitoloñañe nanoe’o tañ’ andro’ iereoo, amo andro faha’ matoetoeo.
For the choirmaster. A Maskil of the sons of Korah. We have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us the work You did in their days, in the days of old.
2 Ie am-pità’o ty nandroake o fifeheañeo le najado’o eo; dinemo’o ondatio, vaho naparatsia’o.
With Your hand You drove out the nations and planted our fathers there; You crushed the peoples and cast them out.
3 Tsy ty fibara’ iareo ty nahazoañe i taney; le tsy o fità’ iareoo ty naharombake, fa ty fità’o havana naho ty sira’o, vaho ty hazavan-dahara’o amy t’ie nisohe’o.
For it was not by their sword that they took the land; their arm did not bring them victory. It was by Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your face, because You favored them.
4 Mpanjakako irehe, ry Andrianañahare; lilio fandrombahañe t’Iakobe.
You are my King, O God, who ordains victories for Jacob.
5 Ihe ro igorea’ay o rafelahi’aio; ty tahina’o ty andialià’ay o mitroatse hiatreatre anaio.
Through You we repel our foes; through Your name we trample our enemies.
6 Tsy iatoako ty faleko, tsy maharombak’ ahy ty fibarako.
For I do not trust in my bow, nor does my sword save me.
7 Fa Ihe ro nandrombak’ anay amo rafelahi’aio, naho nanalatse o malaiñe anaio.
For You save us from our enemies; You put those who hate us to shame.
8 I Andrianañahare ro firengea’ay lomoñandro, vaho andriañe’ay nainai’e ty tahina’o. Selà
In God we have boasted all day long, and Your name we will praise forever.
9 F’ie nifarie’o henaneo, naho ninje’o; tsy indreze’o fionjonañe o lahindefo’aio.
But You have rejected and humbled us; You no longer go forth with our armies.
10 Ampiambohoe’o amo rafelahi’aio, vaho mamaok’ an-tsatri’e avao o malaiñe anaio,
You have made us retreat from the foe, and those who hate us have plundered us.
11 Fa natolo’o ho añondry kamaeñe, vaho nampivarakaihe’o amo fifeheañeo.
You have given us up as sheep to be devoured; You have scattered us among the nations.
12 Naleta’o ami’ty minjilite’e ondati’oo, tsy nahazoan-tombo’e t’ie naletake.
You sell Your people for nothing; no profit do You gain from their sale.
13 Nampañinje’o o mpifankarineo, fanivetiveañe naho fandrabioñañe amo mañohok’ anaio.
You have made us a reproach to our neighbors, a mockery and derision to those around us.
14 Anoe’o oha-drehake o fifeheañeo, fikoliñan-doha am’ondatio.
You have made us a byword among the nations, a laughingstock among the peoples.
15 Fañinjeañe lomoñandro ty aoloko eo, vaho nampikolopok’ ahy ty hameñaran-tareheko,
All day long my disgrace is before me, and shame has covered my face,
16 ami’ty fivola’ o mikobìke naho mamàtseo; ty amy fiatrefan-drafelahiy vaho i mpamale-fatey.
at the voice of the scorner and reviler, because of the enemy, bent on revenge.
17 Toe hene nifetsak’ ama’ay, f’ie tsy nañaliño Azo, vaho tsy nivalik’ amy fañina’oy.
All this has come upon us, though we have not forgotten You or betrayed Your covenant.
18 Toe tsy niamboho Azo o arofo’aio, vaho tsy niveve amy lala’oy o fandia’aio,
Our hearts have not turned back; our steps have not strayed from Your path.
19 f’ie dinemo’o an-toem-panalok’ eo, vaho kinolopo’o an-talinjon-kavilasy.
But You have crushed us in the lair of jackals; You have covered us with deepest darkness.
20 Aa naho nandikofa’ay ty tahinan’Añahare’ay, ke namela-pitàñe aman-drahare ankafankafa;
If we had forgotten the name of our God or spread out our hands to a foreign god,
21 Tsy ho nitsikarahen’ Añahare hao? Kanao arofoana’e ze mikafitse an-trok’ao.
would not God have discovered, since He knows the secrets of the heart?
22 Eka, Ihe ro anjamanañe anay handro am-pohatse; volilieñe hoe añondry ho lentañe.
Yet for Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.
23 Mivañona, ry Talè, Ino ty irota’o? Mitsekafa, ko farie’o kitro katroke zahay.
Wake up, O Lord! Why are You sleeping? Arise! Do not reject us forever.
24 Akore ty ampietaha’o laharañe, naho añaliñoa’o ty hasotria’ay vaho ty halovilovia’ay?
Why do You hide Your face and forget our affliction and oppression?
25 Fa mibokok’ an-debok’ ao ty fiai’ay; mipitek’ an-tane eo ty fisafoa’ay.
For our soul has sunk to the dust; our bodies cling to the earth.
26 Miongaha hañolotse anay, vaho jebaño ty amy fiferenaiña’oy.
Rise up; be our help! Redeem us on account of Your loving devotion.
