< Ohabolana 5 >

1 O anake, tsendreño ty hihiko; atokilaño mb’am-pahilalako ty sofi’o,
My son, attend to my wisdom, and bow thy ear to my understanding:
2 hifejaña’o ty filie-batañe, naho hañaja hilala o soñi’oo.
That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
3 Mitsopa-tantele ty soñin-tsimirirañe, vaho malama te amo solikeo ty vava’e;
For the lips of an adulteress drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
4 f’ie mafaitse te amo vahon-tsoiñeo am-para’e, masioñe hoe fibara sambe-lela’e.
But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.
5 Mizotso mb’am-pikoromaham-beo o tombo’eo, mitalifitse mb’an-tsikeokeok’ ao ty lia’e. (Sheol h7585)
Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. (Sheol h7585)
6 Tsy haraharae’e i lalan-kaveloñey; mihelahela o lala’eo, fe amoea’e.
Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are unstable, that thou canst not know them.
7 Aa le mitsanoña ahy henaneo ry anake, vaho ko mivike amo entam-bavakoo.
Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
8 Ahankaño lavits’ aze ty lala’o, vaho ko itotofa’o ty sariran-akiba’e;
Remove thy way far from her, and come not near the door of her house:
9 tsy mone hatolo’o ami’ty ila’e ty enge’o, naho o tao’oo amy mifajifajiy,
Lest thou give thy honour to others, and thy years to the cruel:
10 mbore hampiboboke ty ambahiny ty haozara’o, vaho mb’añ’akiba’ ty alik’ama’o o nimokora’oo;
Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;
11 Hiñeoñeon-drehe añ’andron-kònka’o, ie mihomake ty nofo’o naho ty sandri’o,
And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
12 ami’ty hoe: Akore te nalaim-pandilovan-draho, naho niheje’ ty troko o endakeo!
And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
13 Tsy nitsendreñeko ty fiarañanaña’ o mpañanakoo, tsy nanokilañako sofiñe o mpañoke ahikoo.
And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to them that instructed me!
14 Fa an-titotse ho nianto iraho, añivo’ ty fivory naho i valobohòkey.
I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
15 Minoma rano an-kadaha’o avao rano midoañe boak’an-tatefatse’o ao.
Drink waters out of thy own cistern, and running waters out of thy own well.
16 Hienene mb’an-dalambey mb’eo hao ty rano’o migoangoañeo? rano hitsiritsiok’ an-damoke eo?
Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.
17 Ehe t’ie azo, fa ko andiva’o ami’ty ambahiny.
Let them be only thy own, and not for strangers with thee.
18 Ho soa-tata ty fipotitiaha’o, vaho irebeho ty valin-katora’o.
Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
19 Hirañe mikoko re, renen-kira maintelèñe— hampaheneñe azo nainai’e o fatroa’eo, i fikokoa’ey avao ty hilosora’o.
Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
20 Akore, anake, t’ie tsepahe’ ty karapilo? naho fihine’ ty arañan’ ambahiny?
And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with an adulteress, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
21 Sindre añatrefam-pihaino’ Iehovà o lala’ ondatio, Songa tsikarahe’e o lalan-tsile’eo.
For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
22 Ho fandrihe’ ty hatsivokara’e ty lo-tsereke, vaho hamihiñe aze am-bahotse o hakeo’eo.
His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sins.
23 Hikenkan-dre fa po-hilala, ty halosoran-kagegea’e ty hampivike aze.
He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
