< Ohabolana 11 >

1 Tiva am’ Iehovà ty fandanjàñe vìlañe, fe no’e ty vato to.
A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.
2 Ie avy ty firengeañe, pok’eo ka ty hasalarañe; fe mpiamo mpirekeo ty hihitse.
When pride comes, then comes shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
3 Miaolo o vantañeo ty havañona’e, fe mampianto i lahiaga ty fikelokeloha’e.
The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
4 Tsy vente’e añ’andron-kankàñe ty vara, fe mamotsotse an-kavilasy ty havantañañe.
Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death.
5 Mampahity ty lala’ o malio tahiñeo ty havantaña’e, fe mikorovok’ ami’ty haratia’e o lo-tserekeo.
The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6 Mañaha ty vañoñe i havantaña’ey, fe hamahotse o piaroteñeo ty fatiti’iareo.
The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.
7 Ie mate ty lo-tsereke, momoke o fañiria’eo, vaho voroke ty fitamà’ i tsy mahitiy.
When a wicked man dies, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perishes.
8 Votsorañe amy falovilovia’ey ty vantañe, le mb’eo handimbe aze ty lo-tsereke.
The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked comes in his stead.
9 Mijoy ty rañe’e am-bava’e ty tsi-aman-Kàke, fe hilala ty mañaha o vañoñeo.
An hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
10 Ie miraorao o vantañeo, mirebeke ty rova; ie momoke ty lo-tsereke, inay ty firiñariñan-kobaiñe.
When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11 Mionjoñe ty rova tatae’ o vañoñeo, fe rotsahe’ ty vava’ o lo-tserekeo.
By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
12 Po-hilala ty maniva ondaty, fe mianjiñe t’indaty mahilala.
He that is void of wisdom despises his neighbor: but a man of understanding holds his peace.
13 Mb’eo mb’eo i mpitolom-bolañey mampiborake ty nitangogoeñe, fe mahakafi-draha ty migahiñe.
A talebearer reveals secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.
14 Ie po-panoroañe, mihotrake o borizañeo, fe fandreketañe t’ie mitolom-pisafiry.
Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
15 Toe hisotry ty miantoke songon’ ambahiny, fe soa fiaro ty malai-mañoho-pitàñe.
He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hates indebtedness is sure.
16 Asieñe ty rakemba matarike, vaho manontom-bara ty fanalolahy.
A gracious woman retains honor: and strong men retain riches.
17 Mañasoa ty tro’e t’indaty matarike, fe mijoy ty vata’e ty mpampisoañe.
The merciful man does good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubles his own flesh.
18 Mikarama hakoahañe ty lo-tsereke, fe ho soa tambe ty mitongy havantañañe.
The wicked works a deceitful work: but to him that sows righteousness shall be a sure reward.
19 Ho veloñe ty mifahatse an-kavañonañe, fe hihomake ty mañean-karatiañe.
As righteousness tends to life: so he that pursues evil pursues it to his own death.
20 Tiva am’ Iehovà ty mengok’ an-troke, fe ifalea’e ty mañavelo an-kahiti’e.
They that are of a fraudulent heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.
21 Tsy mikalafo te tsy ho po-lafa ty lo-tsereke, fe ho haha ty tiri’ o vantañeo.
Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
22 Hoe bange volamena ami’ty oron-dambo ty ampela montramontra tsy mahalie-batañe.
As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.
23 Ty hasoa avao ty fisalala’ o vañoñeo; fe haviñerañe ty fitamà’ i lahiaga.
The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
24 Eo ty fampiparaitahañe mbe mampitombo avao; eo ty matity ami’ty mañeva, f’ie ho rarake.
There is that scatters, and yet increases; and there is that withholds more than is meet, but it tends to poverty.
25 Hiraorao t’indaty matarike, vaho ho tondrahañe ka ty manondrake.
The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that waters shall be watered also himself.
26 Honjire’ ondatio ty matity ampemba, fe fitahiañe ty ho añambone’ i mandetak’ azey.
He that withholds corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be on the head of him that sells it.
27 Osiheñe ty mitsoe-kasoa, fe ami’ty mipay haratiañe, izay ty ho zoe’e.
He that diligently seeks good procures favor: but he that seeks mischief, it shall come to him.
28 Hihotrake ty miato vara, fe handrevake hoe ravets-atae maindoñe o vantañeo.
He that trusts in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
29 Handova tioke ty mpanolo-tsotry añ’anjomba’e, le hitoroñe ty mahihi-troke ty dagola.
He that troubles his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
30 Hataen-kaveloñe ty vokare’ o vantañeo, vaho mpandrekets’arofo ty mahihitse.
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that wins souls is wise.
31 Kanao ho tambezeñe an-tane atoy o vantañeo, àntsake ty tsereheñe naho o piaroteñeo.
Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
