< Nehemia 6 >

1 Aa ie natalily amy Sanbalate naho i Tobià naho amy Geseme nte-Arabe vaho amo rafelahi’ay ila’eo, te namboareko i kijoliy naho tsy aman-keba’e—ndra t’ie mboe tsy natroako hey ty raven-dala’ o lalam-beio—
Now it came to pass, when Sanaballat, and Tobias, and Gesam the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies, heard that I had built the wall, and [that] there was no opening left therein; ([but] hitherto I had not set up the doors on the gates; )
2 le nañitrik’ amako t’i Sanbalate naho i Geseme, ty hoe: Antao hifañaoñe e Keferime amonto’ i Onò añe. F’ie nikilily haratiañe amako.
that Sanaballat and Gesam sent to me, saying, Come and let us meet together in the villages in the plain of Ono. But they [were] plotting to do me mischief.
3 Le nañitrifako ìrake nanao ty hoe: Mitoloñe raha jabajaba iraho le tsy eo ty hizotsoako mb’eo; ino ty hanjirañe i fitoloñañey hiavotako ama’e, hizotsoako mb’ama’ areo mb’eo?
So I sent messengers to them, saying, I am doing a great work, and I shall not be able to come down, lest the work should cease: as soon as I shall have finished it, I will come down to you.
4 Inempatse ty nampihitrifa’ iareo amako i hoe zay; le ie avao ty natoiko.
And they sent to me [again] to this effect; and I sent them [word] accordingly.
5 Nañitrike ty mpitoro’e amako amy sata zay ho faha-lime’e t’i Sanbalate, ninday taratasy misokake am-pità’e;
Then Sanaballat sent his servant to me with an open letter in his hand.
6 le hoe ty sinokitse ao: Fa talilieñe amo kilakila ondatio (vaho fa niventè’ i Geseme) te mikitro-piolàñe irehe naho o nte-Iehodao; Izay ty amboarañe i kijoliy; le ihe ty ho mpanjaka’ iareo, ty amy entañe Izay.
And in it was written, It has been reported amongst the Gentiles that you and the Jews are planning to revolt: therefore you are building the wall, and you will be a king to them.
7 Le nanendre mpitoky irehe hitsey ama’o e Ierosalaime ao ty hoe, Amam-panjaka ty e Iehoda ao; aa le hatalily amy mpanjakay o entañe zao. Antao arè hifañaoñe.
And moreover you has appointed prophets to yourself, that you might dwell in Jerusalem as a king over Juda: and now these words will be reported to the king. Now then, come, let us take counsel together.
8 Le nahitriko ama’e ty hoe: Ndra loli’e tsy nanoeñe o nisaontsie’oo, te mone fikitrohan-tro’o avao.
And I sent to him, saying, It has not happened according to these words, [even] as you say, for you frame them falsely out of your heart.
9 Fonga te nañembañe anay, ami’ty fitsakorea’ iareo, ty hoe: Hirepak’ amy fitoloñañey ty fità’ iareo le tsy ho fonitse. Aa, ehe, haozaro o tañakoo henaneo!
For all were trying to alarm us, saying, Their hands shall be weakened from this work, and it shall not be done. Now therefore I have strengthened my hands.
10 Aa le nimoak’ añ’anjomba’ i Semaià ana’ i Delaià, ana’ i Mehetabele iraho, ie nigabeñe ao; le hoe re, Antao hifañaoñe añ’ anjomban’ Añahare ao le harindrin-tika ty lala’ i anjombay; fa toe ho avy hañè doza ama’o iereo; eka, amy haleñey t’ie hivotrak’ eo hanjevoñ’ azo.
And I came into the house of Semei the son of Dalaia the Son of Metabeel, and he was shut up; and he said, Let us assemble together in the house of God, in the midst of it, and let us shut the doors of it; for they are coming by night to kill you.
11 Le hoe iraho, Hibotitsike hao ty manahak’ ahy? Le ia iraho te hifoak’ amy anjombay hirombak’ay? Izaho tsy himoak’ ao.
And I said, Who is the man that shall enter into the house, that he may live?
12 Le napotako an-troke ao t’ie tsy nirahen’ Añahare; amy te nitokia’e haratiañe vaho toe kinarama’ i Tobià naho i Sanbalate.
And I observed, and, behold, God had not sent him, for the prophecy was a fable [devised] against me:
13 Nitambezan-dre hañembañ’ ahy, soa te hanoeko naho hanan-kakeo vaho hanaña’ iareo talily raty hanisìañ’ ahy.
and Tobias and Sanaballat had hired against me a multitude, that I might be frightened, and do this, and sin, and become to them an ill name, that they might reproach me.
14 Tiahio o fitoloña’ iareoo ry Andrianañahareko, t’i Tobià naho i Sanbalate naho i Noadià, mpitoki-ampela naho o mpitoky ila’e ho nañembañe ahikoo.
Remember, O God, Tobias and Sanaballat, according to these their deeds, and the prophetess Noadia, and the rest of the prophets who tried to alarm me.
15 Aa le nifonitse tañ’ andro faha roapolo-lime ambi’ i Saramantiñey, i andro faha limampolo-ro’ ambi’ey i kijoliy.
So the wall was finished on the twenty-fifth day of the [month] Elul, in fifty-two days.
16 Ie amy zao naho songa nahajanjiñe o rafelahi’ay iabio naho sindre nahaisake o fifeheañe nañohok’ anaio, le ni-po-pahavaniañe vaho nifohi’ iareo te i Andrianañahare’aiy ty nañimba i fahafonirañey.
And it came to pass, when all our enemies heard [of it], that all the nations round about us feared, and great alarm fell upon them, and they knew that it was of our God that this work should be finished.
17 Ie henane zay le nañitrike taratasy maro amy Tobià o roandria’ Iehodao vaho niheo am’iereo o boak’ amy Tobiào;
And in those days letters came to Tobias from many nobles of Juda, and those of Tobias came to them.
18 amy te nimaro e Iehoda ao ty nifanta ama’e, amy t’ie vinanto’ i Sekanià, ana’ i Arà; mbore fa nañenga ty anak’ ampela’ i Mesolame ana’ i Berekià ty ana’e Iohanane.
For many in Juda were bound to him by oath, because he was son-in-law of Sechenias the son of Herae; and Jonan his son had taken the daughter of Mesulam the son of Barachia to wife.
19 Le natalili’ iareo amako o sata’e soao naho ama’e ka o rehakoo vaho nañitrike taratasy hañembañe ahy t’i Tobià.
And they reported his words to me, and carried out my words to him: and Tobias sent letters to terrify me.
