< Matio 5 >

1 Ie tendreke i lahialeñey le nitroatse mb’am-bohitse ey naho niambesatse vaho nimb’ama’e mb’eo o mpiama’eo.
Seeing the multitudes, he went up onto the mountain. When he had sat down, his disciples came to him.
2 Nanoka-palie re, naho nañòke ami’ty hoe:
He opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
3 Haha o mirèke an-trok’ aoo, fa a iareo i fifehean-dikerañey.
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
4 Haha o miharovetseo fa hohoeñe,
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 Haha o trentrañeo, fa handova ty tane toy.
Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Haha o mivalingoa naho miheahea mipay havantañañeo, fa hanjañeñe.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
7 Haha o miferenaiñeo, fa hiferenaiñañe.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Haha o malio añ’arofoo, fa ho isa’iereo t’i Andrianañahare.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 Haha o milozoke fifampilongoañe, fa hatao anan’ Añahare.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.
10 Haha o samporeraheñe ty ami’ty hatòo, fa a iareo i fifehean-dikerañey.
Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
11 Haha nahareo te injèñe naho ampisoañeñe vaho tambaimbaiñeñe, amy ze fonga haloloañe ty amako, am-bolam-bande.
“Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Mirebeha naho mandià taroba amy te ra’elahy ty tambe’ areo andindìñe ao, fa hambañ’ amy zay ty nampisoañeñe o mpitoky taoloo.
Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
13 Sira’ ty tane toy nahareo. Fe naho nàmoñe i siray, inoñe ty haniràñe aze? Toe tsy vara fa hariañe alafe ao ho lialiàm-pandia.
“You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavour, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.
14 Hazavàñe an-tane atoy nahareo. Tsy lefe aetake ty rova namboareñe am-bohitse ey.
You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden.
15 Tsy ameloman-jiro hampikopoke aze añ’etake ao tsy hitapasàha’e, f’ie apoke am-pitàn-jiro eo, hañazava ze hene añ’anjomba ao.
Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house.
16 Aa le atsavavaho amy ze fonga ondaty ty hazavà’ areo, hitoroañe o sata-soa’ areo ho rengeñe naho onjoneñe añatrefan-dRae’ areo andindìñ’aoo.
Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
17 Ko atao’areo te nimb’ atoy iraho hamaoke Hake, Tsy nimb’atoy handrotsake fa ty hameno aze.
“Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 Eka, to t’itaroñako te, ampara’ te mihelañe añe i likerañey naho ty tane toy, tsy ho faopaoheñe amy Hake ndra amo Mpitokio ze ana-tsoritse ndra hirike, amy te kila ho heneke.
For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.
19 Ndra iaia miota ami’ty raike amy lily rezay vaho ampiohe’e ami’ty ila’e, ro hatao kabeake amy fifehean-dikerañey; fe ndra iaia mañambeñe vaho mañoke irezay, ty hatao jabajaba amy fifehean-dikerañey.
Therefore, whoever shall break one of these least commandments and teach others to do so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whoever shall do and teach them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.
20 Taroñeko ama’ areo, naho tsy mandikoatse ty havañona’ o Fariseoo naho o Androanavio ty havantaña’ areo le tsy hizilike am-pifehean-dikerañ’ ao nahareo.
For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, there is no way you will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
21 Tsy fa jinanji’areo hao ty nisaontsieñe amo ntaoloo ty hoe: Ko mañoho-doza, naho: Mikai-jaka mampihomake ty mpamono?
“You have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not murder;’ and ‘Whoever murders will be in danger of the judgement.’
22 Aa hoe iraho ama’areo: Hiatre-jaka ty maha-viñetse i mpiama’ey tsy an-dengo’e, naho hampiatrefem-pivory ze manao ty hoe aman-drahalahi’e: Itrotse irehe; vaho mipay afo an-tsikeokeoke ao ze manao aman-drahalahi’e ty hoe: Ty gege tia. (Geenna g1067)
But I tell you that everyone who is angry with his brother without a cause will be in danger of the judgement. Whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ will be in danger of the council. Whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of Gehenna. (Geenna g1067)
23 Aa ihe mibanabana an-kitrely vaho tiahi’o te anaña’ ty rañe’o kabò vaho itoreova’e,
“If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you,
24 le adono aolo’ i kitreliy eo i enga’oy naho akia, ifampilongo heike, izay vaho hengae’o i banabana’oy.
leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
25 Ampanintsiño masìka i rafelahi’oy, ie mbe indreza’o fañavelo an-dalañe ey, tsy mone hasese’e ami’ty zizy, le hasese’ i ziziy amy mpitoroñey, hampijoñe azo am-porozò ao.
Agree with your adversary quickly while you are with him on the way; lest perhaps the prosecutor deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison.
26 Eka, to t’italiliako, te tsy hiakatse ao ampara’ te avaha’o ty drala honka’e.
Most certainly I tell you, you shall by no means get out of there until you have paid the last penny.
27 Fa jinanji’ areo i nitsaraeñe am’iereo haehae’ey, ty hoe: Ko mañarapilo.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’
28 Fe hoe iraho ama’ areo: ze mikiroke ampela hilà’e aze, le fa nanao hakarapiloañe an-trok’ ao.
but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 Naho mizizy azo ty fihaino’o havana, akatraho vaho ahifiho añe; hasoa ho azo te hianto ty fange’o raike ta te homb’ an-tsikeokeoke ao ty vata’o iaby. (Geenna g1067)
If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna. (Geenna g1067)
30 Tovo’e: Ie manigìke azo ty fità’o, kitsiho; hasoa ho azo te ho rebake fange raike ta t’ie havokovoko an-tsikeokeoke ao ary vatañe. (Geenna g1067)
If your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off, and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna. (Geenna g1067)
31 Fa jinanji’ areo ty nitsaraeñe amo taoloo te: Ze mitsey valy ro hanolots’ aze takelam-pifanarahañe.
“It was also said, ‘Whoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorce,’
32 Itaroñeko te ze mañary valy, naho tsy t’ie nañarapilo, le tsi-mete tsy itolorañe takelam-pifanarahañe; naho o hakarapiloañeo, mañarapilo i lahilahiy vaho karapilo ty mañenga i nariañey.
but I tell you that whoever puts away his wife, except for the cause of sexual immorality, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries her when she is put away commits adultery.
33 Toe jinanji’ areo ka ty nisaontsieñe amo taoloo, Ko mifànta vìlañe ami’ty añarako, le avaho am’ Iehovà o nifantà’oo?
“Again you have heard that it was said to the ancient ones, ‘You shall not make false vows, but shall perform to the Lord your vows,’
34 Fe hoe iraho ama’ areo: ko manao fanta tsy vente’e aman-dra inoñ’ inoñe, ke amy likerañey, fa ie ty fiambesan’ Añahare;
but I tell you, don’t swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;
35 he ami’ty tane toy, amy te ie ty fitongoàm-pandia’e; ke am’ Ierosaleme, fa ie ty rovan’ Añahare,
nor by the earth, for it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King.
36 he ami’ty añambone’o ie tsy mahafoty ndra mahamainte ty maròy raike.
Neither shall you swear by your head, for you can’t make one hair white or black.
37 Ehe te ho Eka ty hoe Eka, naho ho Aiy ty hoe Tsie, fa hirik’ amy ratiy ze tovo’e.
But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘No.’ Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.
38 Toe jinanji’areo ty nitsaraeñe amy Hake: Fihaino soloam-pihaino, naho fihitsike soloam-pihitsike.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’
39 Fe hoe iraho ama’ areo: ko vale’o raty ty raty. Fa ze mandrara-tehake azo am-piambina’o havana, atoliho ama’e ka ty havia.
But I tell you, don’t resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 Ty te hanesek’ azo an-jaka, higaoñe i saravi’oy, afofio ama’e ka ty saro’o.
If anyone sues you to take away your coat, let him have your cloak also.
41 Ze manjizy azo hañavelo arivo lia, mindreza ama’e ro’arivo.
Whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two.
42 Anoloro ty mihalaly ama’o, le ko ifoneña’o ty te hisongo ama’o.
Give to him who asks you, and don’t turn away him who desires to borrow from you.
43 Fa jinanji’ areo ty nitsaraeñe amo taoloo: kokò ty marine azo, vaho hejeo ty malaiñe azo.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy.’
44 Fa hoe ka iraho ama’areo: Kokò o rafelahi’oo, tatao ty mamatse azo, le hasoao ty malaiñe, vaho mihalalia ho a o mampisoañe naho mamorekeke azoo,
But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,
45 soa t’ie ho anan-dRae’ areo andindìñe ao; fa songa ampanjirihe’e amo ratio naho amo soao i androy, vaho ampahavie’e amo vantañeo naho amo tsy vokatseo i orañey.
that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.
46 Aa naho o mikoko anahareoo avao ty kokoa’ areo, inoñe ty ho tambe’ areo? Tsy izay hao ty anoe’ o mijiajiao amo mikoko iareoo?
For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?
47 Aa naho o longo’areo avao ro añontanea’areo, ino ty anoe’o mandikoatse o kilakila’ndatio.
If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same?
48 Aa le mivantaña manahake te vantañe t’i Rae’ areo.
Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
