< Matio 3 >

1 Nivotrake eo añ’andro rezay t’i Jaona Mpandipotse nitaroñe am-patrambei’ Iehodà ao,
And in those dayes, Iohn the Baptist came and preached in the wildernes of Iudea,
2 le hoe re: Mitoliha am-pisolohoañe, fa mitotoke i fifehean-dindiñey!
And said, Repent: for the kingdome of heauen is at hand.
3 hañeneke i nampisaontsieñe Isaia mpitokiy, ty hoe: Ty fiarañanaña’ ty mikoike, Hajario am-patrambey ao ty homba’ Iehovà, avantaño an-dratroratro ao o lala’ i Andrianañaharen-tikañeio.
For this is he of whome it is spoken by the Prophet Esaias, saying, The voyce of him that crieth in the wildernes, Prepare ye the way of the Lord: make his pathes straight.
4 Inge t’i Jaona, nisikim-bolon-drameva naho nisadian-kolitsena mainte an-toha’e naho betratra vaho tantele amboròvoke ty mahakama’e.
And this Iohn had his garment of camels heare, and a girdle of a skinne about his loynes: his meate was also locusts and wilde hony.
5 Le niavotse mb’ama’e mb’eo ty boake e Ierosaleme, naho boak’ Iehodà iaby, vaho boak’ amy ze hene fifeheañe mañohoke Iordaney,
Then went out to him Ierusalem and all Iudea, and all the region rounde about Iordan.
6 ie nisoloho amo tahi’ iareoo le nilipotse am’ Iordaney, ty amy saontsi’ey.
And they were baptized of him in Iordan, confessing their sinnes.
7 Niisa’e te maro amo Fariseo naho Tsadokeo ty nivotrake amy filipora’ey, vaho nanoa’e ty hoe: Ry tiri’ ty mereñe! Ia ty nanoro anahareo ty hibotitsike amy haviñeran’ Añahare ho tondrokey?
Now when he sawe many of the Pharises, and of the Sadduces come to his baptisme, he said vnto them, O generations of vipers, who hath forewarned you to flee from the anger to come?
8 Mamokara vokam-pisolohoañe ki’e;
Bring foorth therefore fruite worthy amendment of life.
9 ko mitsakore an-trok’ ao ty hoe: Rae’ay t’i Abraàme; Eka! Ataliliko ama’ areo, te lefen’ Añahare ty mampitroatse ty ana’e Abraàme boak’ amo vato retoañe.
And thinke not to say with your selues, We haue Abraham to our father: for I say vnto you, that God is able euen of these stones to raise vp children vnto Abraham.
10 Fa mañohatse am-poto-katae eo ty fekoñe; ho firaeñe naho forototoeñe añ’afo ao ty tsy mamoa voa soa. Le hoe i màroy tama’e: Aa naho izay, ino ty hanoe’ay? hoe ty natoi’ i Jaona, ee te handiva raike ami’ty tsy manañe ze aman-tsaron-droe. Aa le nimb’eo ondatio hilipotse, naho maro ty nañontane ty hoe: Ino ty hanoe’ay, Le hoe ty natoi’e: Ko hembañe aman-dra ia ia naho ko itrevoha’o vaho mifalea amo azoo. Aa le nañereñere naho nitsakore añ’ arofo afa-boiñe ondaty iabio, ty hoe: he Iesoà t’i Jaona.
And now also is the axe put to the roote of the trees: therfore euery tree which bringeth not forth good fruit, is hewen downe, and cast into ye fire.
11 Hoe ty natoi’ i Jaona am’ iabikey: Inao, toe ampiliporeko an-tsam-pisolohoañe nahareo, fe ho avy ty fatratse te amako, le tsy sazò ahy ty hampibalake i talin-kana’ey; ie ty handipotse anahareo ami’ty afo’ i Arofo Masiñey.
In deede I baptize you with water to amendment of life, but he that commeth after me, is mightier then I, whose shoes I am not worthie to beare: hee will baptize you with the holy Ghost, and with fire.
12 Am-pità’e ty fanonga’e hamaopaoke ty toem-panonga’e vaho hanontoñe ty ampemba’e am-pañajañ’ ao fe ho forototoe’e añ’afo tsy mete akipeke o karafo’eo.
Which hath his fanne in his hand, and wil make cleane his floore, and gather his wheate into his garner, but will burne vp the chaffe with vnquenchable fire.
13 Nihirike e Galilia t’iIesoà, nandoake am’Iordaney hilipotse añamy Jaona.
Then came Iesus from Galile to Iordan vnto Iohn, to be baptized of him.
14 Fe nisarasara t’i Jaona t’ie halipotse le nanao ty hoe: Tsy Ihe hao ty ho nandipots’ ahy, te ihe mb’ amako?
But Iohn earnestly put him backe, saying, I haue neede to be baptized of thee, and commest thou to me?
15 Le hoe ty natoi’ Iesoà aze: Iantofo, amy te mañeva antika ty hañeneke ze havantañañe; aa le nampilipore’ i Jaona.
Then Iesus answering, saide to him, Let be nowe: for thus it becommeth vs to fulfill all righteousnes. So he suffered him.
16 Ie vaho nitroatse amy ranoy, le nisokafeñe o likerañeo vaho nivazoho’e nizotso hoe deho i Arofon’ Añaharey, nimoneñe ama’e.
And Iesus when hee was baptized, came straight out of the water. And lo, the heaues were opened vnto him, and Iohn saw the Spirit of God descending like a doue, and lighting vpon him.
17 Le inay ty fiarañanañañe boak’ andindìñe ey nanao ty hoe: Intoy ty Anadahiko, i kokoañey, vata’e kokoañe, ie ty ifaleako.
And loe, a voyce came from heauen, saying, This is my beloued Sonne, in whome I am well pleased.
