< Matio 23 >

1 Le nitaroñe’ Iesoà amy lahialeñey naho amo mpiama’eo,
Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes, and to His disciples,
2 ty hoe: Fiambesa’ o Fariseoo naho o Androanavio ty fiambesa’ i Mosè;
saying, “On the seat of Moses sat down the scribes and the Pharisees;
3 ze itsara’e, ambeno naho ano; fe ko oriheñe o fepè’ iareo ndra o sata’ iareoo, amy t’ie misaontsy fa tsy manao.
all, then, as much as they may say to you to observe, observe and do, but according to their works do not do, for they say, and do not do;
4 Mitakàroke iereo, manolotse voròngo jabajaba saro-jinie’ ty soro’ ondaty, f’ie mifoneñe tsy hañonjoñe ndra ty rambom-pitàñe hameve aze.
for they bind together burdens [too] heavy and grievous to bear, and lay [them] on the shoulders of men, but with their finger they will not move them.
5 Fonga anoe’ iereo ho fisambañe o fitoloña’ iareoo; itare’ iereo ty kontra’iareo, naho halavae’ iereo o lifin-tsarimbo’ iareoo.
And all their works they do to be seen by men, and they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the fringes of their garments,
6 Tea’ iereo ty hàndre an-dohà’e eo amo sabadidakeoo, naho ty ampiambesareñe aolo am-pivory ao,
they also cherish the first couches at the banquets, and the first seats in the synagogues,
7 naho ty mibaboke an-damoke ao, vaho ty hikanjiañe ty hoe: Raby.
and the salutations in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
8 Fe ko irie’areo te hanoeñe ty hoe Talè, amy te raike ty Talè’ areo, vaho mpiroahalahy iaby nahareo.
And you may not be called Rabbi, for one is your teacher—the Christ, and you are all brothers;
9 Tsy ho kanjie’ areo ty hoe Rae t’indaty an-tane atoy, fa raike t’i Rae’ areo, i andindìñey.
and you may not call [any] your father on the earth, for one is your Father, who is in the heavens,
10 Tsy hatao Mpiaolo ka nahareo, fa raike ty Mpiaolo’ areo, i Norizañey.
nor may you be called teachers, for one is your teacher—the Christ.
11 Ty bey ama’areo ty hitoroñe anahareo.
And the greater of you will be your servant,
12 Harèke ty mitoabotse, haonjoñe ty miambane.
and whoever will exalt himself will be humbled, and whoever will humble himself will be exalted.
13 Hankàñe ama’ areo Fariseo naho Androanavio, ty mpamañahy! amy te agabe’ areo am’ondatio i fifehean-dikerañey; tsy imoaha’ areo, le sebañe’ areo tsy himoake ao o te hizilikeo.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men, for you do not go in, nor do you permit those going in to enter.
14 Hankàñe ama’ areo Fariseo naho Androanavio, ty mpamañahy! Abotse’ areo naho infanjara’ areo ty hanaña’ o vantotseo ami’ty kora-lava. Aa le ho fandilovañ’ ela ty anahareo.
[[Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you eat up the houses of the widows, and for a pretense make long prayers, because of this you will receive more abundant judgment.]]
15 Mañariary riake naho tane nahareo hamehe ty tro’ ondaty raike ho ami’ty fiantofa’areo, ie mivahotse ao le fa indroe’ i taoloy ty haratia’e. (Geenna g1067)
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you go around the sea and the dry land to make one proselyte, and whenever it may happen—you make him a son of Gehenna twofold more than yourselves. (Geenna g1067)
16 Hankàñe ama’ areo ry fifañosoña’ ty goa, ie atao’ areo ty hoe: Tsy hañavake ty mifanta amy anjomban’ Añaharey, fe azi’areo hañavake ty mifanta aman-dra inoñ’ inoñe natokañe ami’ty firafi’ i anjomban’ Añaharey!
Woe to you, blind guides, who are saying, Whoever may swear by the temple, it is nothing, but whoever may swear by the gold of the temple—is debtor!
17 Ry ondaty dagola naho goao! ty aia ty ambone, o raha natokan-ko amy anjombay, ke i anjombay?
Fools and blind! For which [is] greater, the gold, or the temple that is sanctifying the gold?
18 Le tsy ampañavaha’areo ka ty mifanta amy kitreliy, fe azi’areo hañenga ty mifanta amy engaeñe amy kitreliy.
And, Whoever may swear by the altar, it is nothing, but whoever may swear by the gift that is on it—is debtor!
19 Ty goa; aia ty ambone, i engaeñey hera i kitreliy, i engay ke i anjombay?
Fools and blind! For which [is] greater, the gift, or the altar that is sanctifying the gift?
20 Ty mifanta amy kitreliy mifanta ama’e naho amy ze he’e ama’e.
He therefore who swore by the altar, swears by it, and by all things on it;
and he who swore by the temple, swears by it, and by Him who is dwelling in it;
22 Ze mifanta amy fiambesan’ Añaharey, mifanta ama’e naho amy mpiambesatse ama’ey.
and he who swore by Heaven, swears by the throne of God, and by Him who is sitting on it.
23 Hankàñe ama’ areo, Fariseo naho Androanavio, Asese’ areo ty faha-folo’ o añam-poretrakeo, ty beañe, naho ty taikombelahy, fe apo’ areo ty vente’ o lili’ i Hake zao: ty fatarihañe, ty hatò, naho ty figahiñañe; toe hanoeñe i lily rezay fe tsy handikofañe o ila’eo.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you give tithe of the mint, and the dill, and the cumin, and neglected the weightier things of the Law—judgment, and kindness, and faith; these it was necessary to do, and those not to neglect.
24 Ry tirim-piaolo goa, mpanatavañe lale-dronono vaho mpampigedran-drameva.
Blind guides! Who are straining out the gnat, and are swallowing the camel.
25 Hankàñe ama’ areo, Fariseo naho Androanavio, ty mpamañahy! Liove’ areo alafe’e ty fitovy naho ty akalañe, f’ie lifo-katramo naho haleorañe ty ao.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you make clean the outside of the cup and the plate, and within they are full of robbery and self-indulgence.
26 Ty mpamañahy, liovo hey ty am-po’e ao, le halio ka ty alafe’e.
Blind Pharisee! First cleanse the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside of them may also become clean.
27 Hankàñe ama’ areo, Fariseo naho Androanavio, ty mpamañahy! fa mpihambañe amo kibory nifotieñeo, ie fanjàka ho a ondatio ty alafe’e eo, fe minitse taolan-dolo naho hativàñe ty ao.
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you are like to whitewashed graves, which outwardly indeed appear beautiful, and within are full of bones of dead men, and of all uncleanness;
28 Ie mieva h’ondaty vañoñe añatrefa’ ondatio, te mone atsa-pamañahiañe vaho halo-tsereke ty an-tro’ areo ao.
so also you outwardly indeed appear to men righteous, and within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
29 Hankàñe ama’ areo, mpamañahy, Fariseo naho Androanavio! Fa aore’ areo ty lona’ o mpitokio naho volovoloe’ areo ty kibori’ o mahitio,
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the graves of the prophets, and adorn the tombs of the righteous,
30 vaho manao ty hoe: Naho teo zahay tañ’ andron-droae’ay le tsy ho nomei’ay ty hañohofan-doza amo mpitokio.
and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
31 Aa le mpitalily vatañe t’ie ana’ o mpamono mpitokio.
So that you testify to yourselves that you are sons of them who murdered the prophets;
32 Fanoe’ areo o satan-droae’ areoo.
and you fill up the measure of your fathers.
33 Ty mereñe! Tariran-dapetake, akore ty hipotitsiha’ areo ty fa’ i tsikeokeokey naho tsy mitolike am-pisolohoañe? (Geenna g1067)
Serpents! Brood of vipers! How may you escape from the judgment of Gehenna? (Geenna g1067)
34 Aa le: Inao, hañitrifako mpitoky naho mahihitse naho Androanavy; ho vonoe’ areo ty ila’e, ho lafae’ areo am-pivori’ areo ao ty ila’e, vaho ho horidañe’ areo an-tanañe pak’an-drova.
Because of this, behold, I send to you prophets, and wise men, and scribes, and of them you will kill and crucify, and of them you will scourge in your synagogues, and will pursue from city to city,
35 Soa te hene hafetsake ama’ areo ze lio miavake nadoañe an-tane atoy, mifototse ami’ty lio’ i Abela vañoñey, pak’ami’ty lio’ i Zakaria ana’ i Barakia vinono’ areo añivo’ i anjomban’ Añaharey naho i kitreliy.
that on you may come all the righteous blood being poured out on the earth from the blood of Abel the righteous, to the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar:
36 Eka! to t’itaroñako te, hidoñe ami’ty tariratse toy i he’e zay,
truly I say to you, all these things will come on this generation.
37 naho am’ Ierosaleme, mpamono mpitoky, naho manintake o niraheñeo; impire hao ty nisalalako hatontoñe o ana’oo, hambañe ami’ty anontona’ ty rene akoho o ana’e ambanen’ ela’eo, fe tsy nimete nahareo!
Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that are killing the prophets, and stoning those sent to you, how often I willed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her own chickens under the wings, and you did not will.
38 Aa le hengañe mangoakoake ama’areo o anjomba’areoo;
Behold, your house is left to you desolate;
39 Eka! itaroñako te tsy ho oni’ areo iraho henane zao, ampara’ te hanoe’ areo ty hoe: Andriañeñe ty mitotsak’ ami’ty tahina’ Iehovà!
for I say to you, you may not see Me from now on, until you may say, Blessed [is] He who is coming in the Name of the LORD.”
