1 Ie toly e Betleheme e Iehodà ao t’i Iesoà, tañ’andro’ i Heroda mpanjaka, le inge totsak’ e Ierosaleme ty mpañandro maro boak’ atiñanañe añe,
And Jesus having been born in Beth-Lehem of Judea, in the days of Herod the king, behold, magi from the east came to Jerusalem,
2 nanao ty hoe: Aia i Mpanjaka’ o Jiosio vaho samakey? Fa tinalake’ay atiñanañe eñe ty vasia’e, vaho pok’eo zahay an-dravoravom-piasiañe hitalaho ama’e.
saying, “Where is He who was born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east, and we came to worship Him.”
3 Ie jinanji’ i Heroda mpanjaka le nitsiborehetoke reketse ze hene mpimone’ Ierosaleme.
And Herod the king having heard, was stirred, and all Jerusalem with him,
4 Aa le hene natonto’e o androanavi’eo, vaho nañontanea’e he fohi’ iareo ty hisamahañe i Norizañey.
and having gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he was inquiring from them where the Christ is born.
5 Hoe ty natoi’ iareo: E Betleheme Iehodà ao, ty amy pinatetse amy mpitokiy ty hoe:
And they said to him, “In Beth-Lehem of Judea, for thus it has been written through the prophet:
6 Ihe Betleheme Iehodà, Efratà, tane’ Iehodà, Inao toe pininite’e amo fifokoa’ Iehodao irehe; fe hirik’ ama’o te hionjom-bamako ty ho Mpifehe e Israele ao.
And you, Beth-Lehem, the land of Judah, you are by no means the least among the leaders of Judah, for out of you will come One leading, who will feed My people Israel.”
7 Le kinanji’ i Heroda i mpañandro rey naho natola’e vaho nitsikarahe’e am’iereo i andro niboaha’ i vasiañey.
Then Herod, having called the magi privately, inquired exactly from them the time of the appearing star,
8 Nahitri’e mb’e Betleheme mb’eo iereo ami’ty hoe: Akia, hotsohotsò i Ajaja-lahiy, ie rendre’ areo, ampahafohino ahy, fa homb’ama’e mb’eo ka iraho hitalaho.
and having sent them to Beth-Lehem, he said, “Having gone—inquire exactly for the Child, and whenever you may have found, bring me back word, that I also having come may worship Him.”
9 Ie nahajanjiñe i mpanjakay le nienga; naho indroy i vasiañe niisa’ iereo atiñanañe añey niaolo iareo ampara’ te nipok’ amy toetsey, nijohañe ambone’ ty toe’ i ajajay ey.
And they, having heard the king, departed, and behold, the star, that they saw in the east, went before them, until, having come, it stood over where the Child was.
10 Nifale iereo toe nirañorano an-kobay te nahaisake i vasiañey.
And having seen the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy,
11 Aa ie nizilike an-traño ao le nitendreke aze naho i Marie rene’e; naho nitongaleke aolo’e eo, niambane ama’e, nanokake o horo’ iareoo naho nibanabana ravoravo ama’e: volamena naho mañi-dè vaho rame.
and having come into the house, they found the Child with His mother Mary, and having fallen down they worshiped Him, and having opened their treasures, they presented to Him gifts, gold, and frankincense, and myrrh,
12 Hinatahata’ ty anjely ami’ty nofy iereo, nanoro t’ie tsy hibalike mb’amy Heroda mb’eo, aa le nimpoly mb’an-tane’ iareo añe nañorike lalan-kafa.
and having been divinely warned in a dream not to return to Herod, through another way they withdrew to their own region.
13 Ie añe, intoy, nisodeha amy Josefe ty Anjeli’ Iehovà, nanao ty hoe: Mitroara, rambeso i Ajajalahiy naho i rene’e, mibioña mb’e Mitsraime añe vaho itaveaño ampara’ te tohineko, amy te paiae’ i Heroda havetrake i Ajajalahiy.
And on their having withdrawn, behold, a messenger of the LORD appears in a dream to Joseph, saying, “Having risen, take the Child and His mother, and flee to Egypt, and be there until I may speak to you, for Herod is about to seek the Child to destroy Him.”
14 Aa le nendese’e i Ajajay naho i rene’e,
And he, having risen, took the Child and His mother by night, and withdrew to Egypt,
15 vaho nitambatse añe ampara’ te niantantiritse t’i Heroda, hañenefañe ty nampisaontsieñe i mpitokiy ty hoe: Boake Mitsraime añe ty nitokavako ty Anako.
and he was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled that was spoken by the LORD through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”
16 Ie nifohi’ i Heroda ty nanoa’ i mpañandro rey, le tsy hay aia ty habose’e, toe niojeoje an-troke, vaho linili’e te hahitrike amo roandria’e iabio ty hanjamañe ze hene anak’ ajajalahy e Betleheme naho amparipari’e ao ze nisamake ambane ty tao nisaontsie’ i mpañandro reiy te nisamaheñe i ajalahiy.
Then Herod, having seen that he was deceived by the magi, was very angry, and having sent forth, he slew all the male children in Beth-Lehem, and in all its borders, from two years and under, according to the time that he inquired exactly from the magi.
17 Niheneke amy zay ty nisaontsie’ i Jeremia mpitoky:
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying,
18 Jinanjiñe e Rama ao ty fiarañanañañe; fandalañe naho fangololoihañe mafaitse: Mirovetse o ana’eo t’i Rahelie, ntt
“A voice in Ramah was heard—weeping and much mourning—Rachel weeping [for] her children, and she would not be comforted because they are not.”
19 Ie nihomake t’i Heroda, le nitoje amy Josefe e Mitsraime ao ama’ nofy ty anjeli’ Iehovà
And Herod having died, behold, a messenger of the LORD appears in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,
20 nanao ty hoe: Mitroara, rambeso i Ajajalahiy naho i rene’e, le akia mb’an-tane’ Israele añe; fa mate o nipay hañoho-doza amy Ajajaio.
saying, “Having risen, take the Child and His mother, and be going to the land of Israel, for they have died—those seeking the life of the Child.”
21 Aa le niongake re, ninday i Ajajay naho i rene’e, nimpoly mb’ an-tane Israele mb’eo.
And he, having risen, took the Child and His mother, and came to the land of Israel,
22 Jinanji’e te nandimbe i Heroda rae’e nifeleke e Iehodà ao t’i Horkanose, le nimarimarike tsy te homb’eo. Aa le nirisihe’ i Anjeliy ami’ty nofy re ty hitsile mb’ an-tane Gilgale añe.
and having heard that Archelaus reigns over Judea instead of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there, and having been divinely warned in a dream, he withdrew to the parts of Galilee,
23 Ie nandoake ao le nimoneñe an-drova atao Nazareta, hañeneke i nisaontsie’ o mpitokio te: Hatao nte-Naz’rete re.
and coming, he dwelt in a city named Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through the Prophets, that “He will be called a Nazarene.”
