1 Ie niorotse nañoke añ’olon-driake eo indraike le akore ty hamaron-dahialeñe nihipoke ama’ey kanao nijon-dakañe le niambesatse an-driake ey, vaho tañ’ olotse, an-tamboho ey i màroy.
AND again he began to teach by the sea side: and a vast multitude was assembled about him, so that he went into a vessel to sit down on the sea, and all the multitude was on the land close by the sea.
2 Le nitaroña’e raha maro am-pandrazàñañe, vaho hoe re te nañoke:
And he taught them in parables many things, and said unto them in the course of his teaching,
3 Inao: Teo te niavotse mb’eo ty mpandrara-tabiry handrarake.
Hear me! Behold, a sower went out to sow;
4 Ie nandrarake, le nipoke añ’ olon-dalañe eo ty ila’e vaho nimb’eo o voroñeo nitsimok’ aze.
and it came to pass as he sowed, some fell by the road side, and the birds of the air came and ate it up.
5 Ty ila’e nipoke ami’ty lamilamy marivo tane, fe nitiry aniany, amy te tsy nilaleke i taney,
And some fell on a rocky soil, where it had not much mold, and immediately it sprung up, because it had no depth of earth:
6 ie nanjirike i àndroy, fe nimae, vaho niforejeje amy te tsy niam-bahatse.
and when the sun arose it was scorched up; and because it had not root, it withered away.
7 Nipoke am-patike ao ka ty ila’e, fe nitiram-patike nampidageañe aze vaho tsy namoa.
And some fell among thorns, and the thorns sprang up with it and choked it, and it produced no fruit.
8 Ty ila’e nipoke an-tane hoba, le nitiry naho nandrevake vaho namokatse, teo ty telo-polo, teo ty enem-polo, vaho teo ty zato.
And some fell on good ground, and produced fruit, growing up, and increasing, and yielded one part thirty fold, and another sixty, and another an hundred.
9 Le hoe re: Ze aman-dravembia mahajanjiñe, Le mijanjiña.
And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10 Ie nitolake, le nañontanea’ o mpiama’eo naho i folo ro’amby rey i nirazañe’ey,
But when they were alone, those who were about him with the twelve, asked him the meaning of the parable.
11 vaho nanoa’e ty hoe: Inahareo ro nitolorañe ty tafatoño’ i Fifehean’ Añaharey, fe hene razañeñe o alafe’eo
And he said to them, To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are without, all things are in parables:
12 soa te: ie miisake, ro hañisake fe tsy hahaoniñe; ie mitsendreñe, ro hijanjiñe, fe tsy haharendreke; ke hitolike, vaho ho hahàñe o tahi’iareoo.
That seeing they may see, yet not perceive; and hearing may hear, yet not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins be forgiven them.
13 Le hoe re tam’ iereo: Tsy nirendre’ areo hao i ohatse zay? aa le akore ty haharendreha’ areo o fandrazañañe iabio?
And he saith to them, Know ye not this parable? and how will ye know all parables?
14 Mandrarake o tsarao i mpandrarakey.
The sower soweth the word.
15 O añ’olon-dalañeo, amy nandrarahañe i tsaraiy, ie mijanjiñe, pok’eo aniany i mpañìnjey manoitse i tsara nararake am’ iareoy.
Now these are they by the road side; where the word is sown; and when they have heard, immediately Satan cometh, and taketh away the word sown on their hearts:
16 Manahake izay o nararake am-batovatoeñeo, ie mahatsendreñe i tsaray le mandrambe aze an-kaehake amy zao;
and these in like manner are they who were sown on the rocky soil; who when they have heard the word, instantly with joy receive it;
17 f’ie tsy amam-bahatse, le aniany avao te mitojeha ty hasilofañe ndra ty fampisoañañe ty amy tsaray le torifike iareo.
and have no root in themselves, but are temporary professors: afterwards, when tribulation cometh or persecution for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.
18 I nararake am-patike ao rezay, le o mijanjiñe i tsaraio,
And those are the sown among the thorns; such as are hearers of the word;
19 fe mitsamoake ao ty fihakahaka’ ty tane toy, naho ty hakalitaha’ o varao, naho ty hatea-raha ila’e, ze mahadageañe i tsaray tsy hamokatse. (aiōn g165)
but the anxious cares of this world, and the seducing nature of wealth, and inordinate desires after other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
20 O retoañe nararake an-tane soao, le mijanjiñe i tsaray naho mandrambe aze vaho mamokatse: eo ty telo-polo, eo ty enem-polo, vaho eo ty zato.
And these are they who are sown on the good ground, such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirty fold, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
21 Le hoe re tam’ iereo: Endeseñe ho rongonan-karoñe hao ty jiro? ke hazilike ambane fandreañe ao? tsy hàmake t’ie apoke am-panampezan-jiro ey hao?
And he said unto them, Is a lamp brought out to be put under a bushel, or under a bed, and not to be placed on a stand?
22 Toe tsy ao ty naetake ze tsy ho bentareñe, vaho tsy ao ty nitsikoeñe ze tsy ho boraheñe.
For there is nothing hid, but that it should be brought to light, nor is any thing concealed, but that it should come into open day.
23 Ze aman-dravembia hijanjiñe, Mijanjiña.
If any man hath ears to hear, let him hear.
24 Le hoe re tam’ iereo: Ereñereo o janjiñe’ areoo; fa ami’ty fañarànañe añaràna’ areo ro añarànañe ama’ areo vaho ho tompeañe ama’areo mijanjiñe.
And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with the measure ye mete, shall it be measured back to you; and something over shall be given to you that hear.
25 Ho tovoñeñe ze manañe, fa ami’ty tsy manañe ndra ty kedekedek’ ama’e ro sintoneñe.
For to him that hath, there shall more be given to him; but he that hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken away from him.
26 Le hoe re: Razañeñe amy t’indaty mandrarake tabiry an-tane eo i Fifehean’ Añaharey,
And he said, The kingdom of heaven is of that kind, as if a man should cast seed into his field;
27 mirotse re te haleñe naho mitroatse boak’ andro; mitiry naho mitombo i tabiriy, fe tsy apota’e te manao akore.
and sleep and rise, night and day, and the sown corn should sprout, and grow into length, he knoweth not how:
28 Mampitiry ho aze i taney: i losoy aolo, le i toka-tsofi’ey, vaho izay o voa’e matoe an-doha’eo.
for the earth, naturally prolific, beareth fruit; first the blade, then the ear, then the full corn in the ear.
29 Ie rifo le ahitri’e i mesoy fa tondroke ty fitatahañe.
But when the grain is ready, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because harvest is come.
30 Hoe ka re: Inoñe ty handrazañan-tika i Fifehean’ Añaharey? Ohatse manao akore ty ampidodean-tika aze?
And he said, To what shall I liken the kingdom of God, and under what parabolic figure shall I represent it?
31 Ampanahafeñe ami’ty voa-nonoke, ie amboleañ’ an-tane ro kede amy ze tabiry an-tane atoy;
It is like a grain of mustard, which when it is sown in the earth, is among the least of all the seeds which are upon the earth:
32 f’ie tongisañe, le mitiry naho midorenake mandikoatse ze hatae an-tetek’ao vaho ampandrevahe’e tsampañe hanoa’ o voron-dikerañeo traño añ’alo’e ao.
but when it is sown, it groweth up and becomes greater than all herbaceous plants, and produceth vast branches; so that the birds of the air may roost under the shadow of it.
33 Maro ty fandrazañañe nitsarae’e hoe izay ty amy nahafijanjiña’ iareo.
And with many such like parables spake he to them the word.
34 Le tsy nitaroña’e naho tsy am-pandrazañañe avao; ie nitolake vaho nampalange ze he’e amo mpiama’eo.
And without a parable spake he not unto them; but in private he explained them all to his disciples.
35 Ie niroñe ho hariva i àndroy, le hoe re am’iereo: Antao hitsake mb’andafe eñe.
And the same day he saith unto them, as the evening shut in, Let us pass over to the other side.
36 Nienga i lahialeñey iereo naho nendesen-dre, ie tan-dakañe ao avao. Nindre lia ama’e ka ty lakañe ila’e.
And sending the multitude away, they took him just as he was in the vessel; and there were also some other little vessels with him.
37 Nikofaok’ amy zao ty tio-bey, le trinabotrabo’ o onjao i lakañey, vaho nañaly ho pea.
And a great hurricane arose, and the waves broke into the vessel, so that it was now full of water:
38 Tam-boli’ i lakañey re nirotse añ-akalañe, le nampivañoneñe ami’ty hoe: O Talè, tsy ahoa’o hao t’ie òpo?
and he was in the stern, sleeping on a pillow: and they awoke him, and say unto him, Master, is it no concern to thee that we are perishing?
39 Nitroatse re nitrevoke i tiokey naho nanao ty hoe amy riakey, Manintsiña, mipendreña. Le nijihetse i tiokey vaho nipendreñe ami’ty do’e.
And rising, he with authority charged the wind, and said to the sea, Silence! be still! And the wind subsided, and there was a great calm.
40 Le hoe re tam’ iereo: Ino ty ihembaña’ areo? Mboe tsy am-patokisañe hao?
And he said to them, Why are ye so timorous? How is it that ye have not confidence?
41 F’ie nianifañe, nifanao ty hoe: Ondaty manao akore v’itoio, te ivohora’ i tiokey naho i riakey!
And they were filled with the most reverential awe, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
