1 Ie maraindrain-tsikiake, nivory hisafiry o roandriañeo naho o mpanoki-dilio naho i sinedriona iabiy vaho o mpisorom-beio, le rinohi’ iereo t’Iesoà, naho nase­se vaho natolo’ iareo amy Pilato.
And immediately, in the morning, the chief priests having made a consultation with the elders, and scribes, and the whole Sanhedrin, having bound Jesus, led [Him] away, and delivered [Him] to Pilate;
2 Aa le nañontanea’ i Pilato: Ihe hao ty Mpanjaka’ o Jiosio? Tinoi’e ty hoe: Ie i saontsi’oy.
and Pilate questioned Him, “Are You the King of the Jews?” And He answering said to him, “You say [it].”
3 Nitolon-kitomboke aze ami’ty raha tsiefa o mpisorom-beio.
And the chief priests were accusing Him of many things, [but He answered nothing.]
4 Nañontane aze indraike t’i Pilato ami’ty hoe: Tsy manoiñe v’Iheo? Inao o raha maro anisia’ iareoo?
And Pilate again questioned Him, saying, “You do not answer anything? Behold, how many things they testify against You!”
5 Tsy nanoiñe avao t’Iesoà; le niveren-draha t’i Pilato.
And Jesus no longer answered anything, so that Pilate wondered.
6 Ie amy zao lili’e amy sabadidakey ty hamotsotse am’iereo ty mpirohy raike, ze tea’ iereo.
And at every celebration he was releasing to them one prisoner, whomsoever they were asking for;
7 Aa le teo ty atao Barabasy, nitrao-pirohy amo mpiolao, namono ondaty amy kidý zay.
and there was [one] named Barabbas, bound with those making insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.
8 Le nionjom-beo i màroy nihalaly ama’e hanao i fanoe’ey.
And the multitude having cried out, began to ask for themselves as he was always doing to them,
9 Natoi’ i Pilato ami’ty hoe: Satri’ areo hao ty hamotsorako i Mpanjaka’ o Jiosioy?
and Pilate answered them, saying, “Will you [that] I will release to you the King of the Jews?”
10 Tali’e, nifohi’e te nasese’ o mpisorom-beio ama’e am-parahy.
For he knew that the chief priests had delivered Him up because of envy;
11 Fe trinobo’ o mpisorom-beio i màroy, hampañaha’e ho am’iareo t’i Barabasy.
and the chief priests moved the multitude that he might rather release Barabbas to them.
12 Nindrai’ i Pilato am’iereo ty hoe: Hataoko akore arè i atao’ areo Mpanjaka’o Jiosioy?
And Pilate answering, again said to them, “What, then, will you [that] I will do to Him whom you call King of the Jews?”
13 Le kinorà’ iereo, ty hoe: Peho amy hatae ajaley.
And they again cried out, “Crucify Him!”
14 Hoe ty nanoa’ i Pilato: Manao akore! Ino ty sata-rati’e? fe nindrai’ iereo am-pidabadoàñe ty hoe: Peho re!
And Pilate said to them, “Why—what evil did He do?” And they cried out the more vehemently, “Crucify Him!”
15 Aa ie te hampanintsiñe i màroy t’i Pilato, le navotso’e am’iereo t’i Barabasy naho nampandafae’e t’Iesoà vaho nasese’e ho peheñe añe.
And Pilate, resolving to do that which [was] satisfactory to the multitude, released Barabbas to them, and delivered up Jesus—having scourged [Him]—that He might be crucified.
16 Nendese’o lahin-defoñeo mb’ amy kijàm-pivoriy ao re, le nikoihe’ iereo ze hene mpirai-liao.
And the soldiers led Him away into the hall, which is [the] Praetorium, and call together the whole band,
17 Sinaro’ iereo malòmavo, naho nandrandrañe halam-patike ze nisabakañ’ aze,
and clothe Him with purple, and having plaited a garland of thorns, they put [it] on Him,
18 vaho nañontane aze ty hoe: Talilio ry Mpanjaka’ o Jiosio!
and began to greet Him, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
19 Linihi’ iereo am-bararata ty añambone’e naho nandrorañe naho nitongalefañe vaho nibokobokoañe.
And they were striking Him on the head with a reed, and were spitting on Him, and having bent the knee, were prostrating to Him,
20 Aa ie fa nikobìheñe le nafaha’ iereo ama’e i saro malo-mavoy, naho naombe ama’e o saro’eo, vaho nakare’ iereo ho peheñe añe.
and when they [had] mocked Him, they took the purple from off Him, and clothed Him in His own garments, and they led Him forth, that they may crucify Him.
21 Le nazi’iereo ty niary eo hirike an-kàloke añe, i Simona nte-Kirenia (rae’ i Aleksandro naho i Rofosy); hitarazo i hatae ajale’ Iesoày.
And they impress a certain one passing by—Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the field, the father of Alexander and Rufus—that he may carry His cross,
22 Le nasese’ iereo mb’amy toetse atao Golgotay mb’eo re (ze adika ty hoe: an-karandoha).
and they bring Him to the place [called] Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, “Place of [the] Skull”;
23 Nasozo’ iereo ama’e ty divay linaro rame, fe tsy rinambe’e.
and they were giving Him wine mingled with myrrh to drink, and He did not receive [it].
24 Le pinè’ iereo; naho zinara’ iareo an-tsato-piso o saro’eo, handrendreke ty hahazo.
And having crucified Him, they were dividing His garments, casting a lot on them, what each may take;
25 Amy ora faha-teloy ty nipehañe aze ambone’ i hatae ajaley.
and it was the third hour, and they crucified Him;
26 Pinatetse ambone’e eo ty nanisiañ’ aze ami’ty hoe: Ty Mpanjaka’ o Jiosio.
and the inscription of His accusation was written above: “THE KING OF THE JEWS.”
27 Nitrao-piradorado ama’e ty malaso roe, ty raike an-kavana’e naho ty raike an-kavia’e.
And they crucify two robbers with Him, one on the right hand and one on His left,
[[and the Writing was fulfilled that is saying, “And He was numbered with lawless ones.”]]
29 Songa nanirìka aze ze niary eo, nañekotseko-doha nanao ty hoe: Hoke! Ihe ho nandrotsake i Anjomban’ Añaharey naho handrafits’ aze añate’ ty telo andro,
And those passing by were slandering Him, shaking their heads, and saying, “Ha! The [One] throwing down the temple, and building [it] in three days!
30 rombaho ty vata’o vaho mizotsoa amo hatae ajaleo.
Save Yourself, and come down from the cross!”
31 Hoe ka ty tsikìke nifanoa’ o mpisorom-beio naho o mpanoki-dilio: Ie nandrombake ty ila’e ro tsy maha­romba-batañe.
And in like manner also the chief priests, mocking with one another, with the scribes, said, “He saved others; He is not able to save Himself.
32 Adono hizotso amo hatae ajaleo henaneo o Norizañe Mpanjaka’ Israeleo ho isake, hiantofan-tika. Nitety aze ka o naharo nipeheñe ama’eo.
The Christ! The King of Israel—let Him come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe”; and those crucified with Him were reproaching Him.
33 Ie amy ora fah’ eneñey, nivotrake amy Tane iabiy ty fimoromoroñañe sikal’ ami’ty ora faha-sive.
And the sixth hour having come, darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour,
34 Ie amy ora fahasivey le nipazake ty hoe t’Iesoà: Eloy, Eloy, lamà sabaktany, ze adika ty hoe: Andrianañahareko, Andrianañahareko, akore ty namorintseña’o ahy?
and at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a great voice, saying, “Eloi, Eloi, lamma sabachthani?” Which is, being interpreted, “My God, My God, why did You forsake Me?”
35 Ie nahajanjiñe izay o ila’e nisambao, le hoe ty asa’ iareo: Inay ie, mitoka i Elia.
And certain of those standing by, having heard, said, “Behold, He calls Elijah”;
36 Teo ty nilay naho nampipea vinegra ami’ty eponjy, le nasindri’e ami’ty bararata vaho naonjo’e ho si­tsihe’ Iesoà, le hoe re: Adono, ho isa-tika hera homb’eo t’i Elia hanjotso aze.
and one having run, and having filled a sponge with vinegar, having also put [it] on a reed, was giving Him to drink, saying, “Let alone, let us see if Elijah comes to take Him down.”
37 Le nampipoña-piarañanañañe t’Iesoà naho nirofotse ty arofo’e,
And Jesus having uttered a loud cry, yielded the spirit,
38 vaho nitori-anjake ty lamba fañefe’ i Anjomban’ Añaharey, nivaki-roe boak’ ambone pak’ ambane.
and the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom,
39 Ie nioni’ ty mpifele-jato nijohañe aolo aze eo ty fikaiha’e naho ty fidrohota’e, le hoe ty asa’e: Toe Anan’ Añahare ondatio.
and the centurion who was standing opposite Him, having seen that, having so cried out, He yielded the spirit, said, “Truly this Man was [the] Son of God.”
40 Ey hoek’ ey o roakemba nisambao; ama’e t’i Miriame nte-Magdalà naho i Marie rene’ Iakobe Zai’e naho i Josese vaho i Saloma;
And there were also women beholding far off, among whom was also Mary the Magdalene, and Mary of James the less, and of Joses, and Salome,
41 ie nañorike naho nitoroñe aze e Galilia añe; mbore maro ty rakemba ila’e nindre-lia ama’e t’ie nigodañe mb’e Ierosaleme ao.
who also, when He was in Galilee, were following Him and were ministering to Him, and many other women who came up with Him to Jerusalem.
42 Ie fa hiròñe i androy, te andro fañalankañañe (ty andro aolo’ i Sabatay),
And now evening having come, seeing it was the Preparation, that is, before Sabbath,
43 le nimb’eo t’Iosefe nte Arimatea, asiñeñe amy Fivori-beiy naho mpitamà i Fifehean’ Añaharey, nitoañe mb’amy Pilato ao nihalaly ty fañòva’ Iesoà.
Joseph of Arimathea, an honorable counselor, who also himself was waiting for the Kingdom of God, came, boldly entered in to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.
44 Nilatsa t’i Pilato te inao fa nivilasy re, le kinanji’e i mpifele-jatoy, vaho nañontane he t’ie toe nivilasy.
And Pilate wondered if He were already dead, and having called near the centurion, questioned him if He were long dead,
45 Ie nirendre’e amy mpifele-jatoy, le natolo’e am’ Iosefe i fañòvay.
and having known [it] from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph.
46 Nikaloa’e lamba leny, le nazotso’e, naho sinafo’e amy leniy, naho nirohota’e an-donake hinaly an-damilamy, vaho namarimbarìña’e vato ty lala’ i lonakey.
And he, having brought fine linen, and having taken Him down, wrapped Him in the linen, and laid Him in a tomb that had been hewn out of a rock, and he rolled a stone to the door of the tomb,
47 Nisambae’ i Miriame nte-Magdalà naho i Marie rene’ i Josese i nandrohotañ’ azey.
and Mary the Magdalene, and Mary of Joses, were beholding where He is laid.
