< Malakia 2 >
1 Ie henane zao: ho anahareo o lily zao ry mpisoroñeo.
And now, this commandment is for you, O ye priests.
2 Aa naho tsy haoñe’ areo, naho tsy tsakore’ areo añ’arofo ao, ty handrenge i añarakoy, hoe t’Iehovà, le hañitrifako fatse, vaho hozoñeko o fitahia’ areoo; eka, toe fa nozoñeko, amy te tsy ifahara’ ty tro’ areo.
If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts: I will even send out against you a curse, and I will curse your blessings; yea, I will curse the same, because ye do not lay it to heart.
3 Ingo, hendahako o tabiri’areoo, le ho hosorako hativàñe o lahara’ areoo, ty tai’ o takataka’ areoo; ie hisese añe mindre ama’e.
Behold, I will destroy unto you the seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your festive offerings; and one shall take you away with it.
4 Fohino arè te nampihitrifeko ama’ areo ty lily toy, soa te ho amy Levý nainai’e i fañinakoy, hoe t’Iehovà’ i Màroy.
And ye shall thereby know that I have sent out unto you this commandment, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the Lord of hosts.
5 Haveloñe naho filongoañe i fañinako ama’ey; natoloko aze ho fañeveñañe, toe nañeveña’e vaho niambane ami’ty añarako.
My covenant was with him life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and because of my name he had dread.
6 Tam-palie’e ao i Hake vantañey, vaho tsy nitendrek’ am-pamele’e ao ty hatsivokarañe; ie nindre nañavelo amako an-kanintsiñe naho an-kavañonañe vaho maro ty nampiambohoe’e ami’ty raty.
The law of truth was in his mouth, and falsehood was not found on his lips: in peace and equity he walked with me, and many did he turn away from iniquity.
7 Toe fañajàn-kilala ty fivimbim-pisoroñe, vaho ho tsoeheñe am-palie’e ao ty Hake; ie ìra’ Iehovà’ i Màroy.
For the priest's lips are ever to keep knowledge, and the law are they to seek from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.
8 Fe nitsile amy lalañey nahareo, naho nampitsikapy ty maro amy Hake; nitivae’ areo ty fañina’ i Levý, hoe t’Iehovà’ i Màroy.
But ye are indeed departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble in the law; ye have corrupted the covenant of the Levite, saith the Lord of hosts.
9 Aa le nisirikaeko naho nimavoeko añatrefa’ ze kila ondaty amy te tsy nambena’ areo o lalakooy, vaho mirihy t’ie mañorike Hake.
Therefore have I also made you contemptible and low before all the people, in the same measure as ye do not keep my ways, but act with partiality in the law.
10 Tsy raik’ avao hao t’i Raentika? Tsy Andrianañahare Raike hao ty namboatse an-tika? Aa vaho akore te songa mifampikatramo aman-drahalahy, hiteratera i fañinan-droaentikañey?
Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? [then] why shall we deal treacherously every man against his brother, to profane the covenant of our fathers?
11 Fa nanao hatsivokarañe t’Iehodà, hativàñe ty nanoeñe e Israele ao naho e Ierosalaime ao; fa vineta’ Iehodà i toetse navahe’ Iehovày ie nikokoa’e, amy nañenga’e ty anak’ ampelan- drahare ambahiny ho vali’e.
Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination hath been committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the sanctuary of the Lord which he loveth, and hath married the daughter of a strange god.
12 Haitoa’ Iehovà amo kiboho’ Iakobeo t’indaty manao izay, ie mañenga soroñe amy Iehovà’ i maroiy. he t’ie mpiaolo ke te mpañorike.
The Lord will cut off unto the man that doth this, son and grandson, out of the tents of Jacob, and him that bringeth near an offering unto the Lord of hosts.
13 Inao ka ty fanoe’areo: atsafe’ areo rano-maso ty kitreli’ Iehovà, am-pirovetañe, vaho am-pangololoihañe, amy te tsy haoñe’e i engay, tsy no’e ty handrambe an-taña’ areo.
And this do ye secondly, covering the altar of the Lord with tears, with weeping and with loud complaint, so that he turneth not any more his regard to the offerings, nor receiveth it with favor at your hand.
14 Le anoa’areo ty hoe: Aa vaho akore? Amy te Iehovà ro valolombeloñe añivo’o naho i tañanjomban- katora’oy, i fañahie’oy, ndra te nirañe’o i valim-pañina’oy.
Yet ye say, Wherefore? Because the Lord hath been witness between thee and the wife of thy youth, against whom thou hast indeed dealt treacherously: yet is she thy companion, and the wife of thy covenant.
15 Aa tsy nanoe’e [nofotse] raike hao? Aa manao akore t’ie raike? naho tsy te ipaia’e tiry mpañori-Kake. Aa le itaò ty arofo’ areo, ehe te tsy eo ty hifotetse amy tañanjomban-katora’ey.
And not one doth so who hath a remnant of a [good] spirit; for what desireth such a one? he seeketh [to possess] a godly posterity: therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none of you deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
16 Hejeko ty tsei-valy, hoe t’Iehovà, Andrianañahare’ Israele, naho ty misaroñe tiñake hoe t’ie sikiñe, hoe t’Iehovà’ i Màroy; aa le itaò o tro’ areoo, tsy mone hivalike.
For he hateth putting away [the wife], so hath said the Lord the God of Israel, and him who covereth his garment with violence, so hath said the Lord of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, and deal not treacherously.
17 Fa nimokore’ areo t’Iehovà amo enta’ areoo. le manao ty hoe: Aa vaho akore ty nampimokora’ay? Ami’ty atao’ areo ty hoe: Hene soa am-pivazohoa’ Iehovà eo ze manao raty, vaho no’e! ndra ty hoe; Aia i Andrianañaharen- kavantañañey?
Ye have wearied the Lord with your words: yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? By your saying, Every one that doth evil is good in the eyes of the Lord, and in them he findeth delight; or else, Where is the God of justice!
