< Josoa 6 >
1 Ie amy zao, nigabeñe fatratse t’Ieriko ty amo ana’ Israeleo: leo raike tsy niakatse, ndra raike tsy nimoak’ ao—
Now Jericho was closely shut up and besieged, and none went out of it, and none came in.
2 Le hoe t’Iehovà amy Iehosoa: Inao te natoloko am-pità’o t’Ieriko, naho i mpanjaka’ey vaho o fanalolahio.
And the Lord said to Joshua, Behold, I deliver Jericho into your power, and its king in it, [and its] mighty men.
3 Hiarikatoha’ areo i rovay; ze hene lahindefoñe ty hiariari’ i rovay indraike. Andro eneñe ty hanoa’o Izay.
And do you set the men of war round about it.
4 Hitintiñe tsifan’ añondrilahy fito ty mpisoroñe fito aolo’ i vatam-pañinay; ie ami’ty andro faha-fito le hiaria’ areo im-pito i rovay vaho hampipopò o tsifan’ añondrio i mpisoroñe rey.
And it shall be [that] when you shall sound with the trumpet, all the people shall shout together.
5 Ie amy zao, naho tiofe’ iareo ela i tsifan’ añondry rey, naho janji’ areo ty feo’ i antsivay, le sindre hampipoñake ty pazake ondatio naho hikoromake ho pisake ty kijoli’ i rovay vaho songa hiranga an-kahiti’e miaolo mb’eo t’indaty.
And when they have shouted, the walls of the city shall fall of themselves; and all the people shall enter, each one rushing direct into the city.
6 Kinanji’ Iehosoa ana’ i None o mpisoroñeo, le hoe ty asa’e tama’e: Ongaho i vatam-pañinay vaho mpisoroñe fito ty hinday tsifan’ añondrilahy fito aolo’ i vatam-pañina’ Iehovày.
And Joshua the [son] of Naue went in to the priests, and spoke to them, saying,
7 Le hoe ty asa’e am’ ondatio: Mionjona mb’eo le arikatoho i rovay vaho ampiaolò o lahin-defoñeo i vatam-pañina’ Iehovày.
And let seven priests having seven sacred trumpets proceed thus before the Lord, and let them sound loudly; and let the ark of the covenant of the Lord follow.
8 Ie amy zao: nisaontsy am’ ondatio t’Iehosoa, le nionjom-beo i mpisoroñe fito nitañe tsifan’ añondrilahy fito añatrefa’ Iehovà rey, le nitiofe’ iereo o tsifao vaho nanonjohy iareo i vatam-pañina’ Iehovày.
Charge the people to go round, and encompass the city; and let your men of war pass on armed before the Lord.
9 Niaolo o mpisoroñe nitiok’ antsivao amy zao ondaty nitam-pialiañeo, le nanonjohy i vatam-pañinay o mpivolio; vaho nitolom-pipopò avao o tsifao.
And let the men of war proceed before, and the priests bringing up the rear behind the ark of the covenant of the Lord [proceed] sounding the trumpets.
10 Linili’ Iehosoa amy zao ondatio ami’ty hoe: Ko mikoràke, ee te tsy ho janjiñeñe hey ty fiarañanaña’ areo, vaho tsy hiakatse am-palie’ areo ndra saontsy raike ampara’ ty andro koiheko te hipazake; le hene hipozak’ amy zay.
And Joshua commanded the people, saying, Cry not out, nor let any one hear your voice, until he himself declare to you the time to cry out, and then you shall cry out.
11 Aa le nampiariarie’e i vatam-pañina’ Iehovày i rovay, indraike t’ie niarikatoheñe naho nibalik’ an-tobe iareo vaho nialeñe an-tobe ao.
And the ark of the covenant of God having gone round immediately returned into the camp, and lodged there.
12 Nitroatse marain-tsi-kiake t’Iehosoa vaho rinambe’ o mpisoroñeo i vatam-pañina’ Iehovày.
And on the second day Joshua rose up in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the covenant of the Lord.
13 Aa le nainai’e nimb’eo nampipopò o tsifao i mpisoroñe fito ninday tsifan’ añondry fito añatrefa’ i vatam-pañina’ Iehovày rey; niaolo iareo o lahindefoñeo vaho nanonjohy i vatam-pañina’ Iehovày o nivolio, nainai’e am-pipopòeñe o antsivao.
And the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets went on before the Lord; and afterwards the men of war went on, and the remainder of the multitude went after the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the priests sounded with the trumpets.
14 Ie amy andro faharoey le nañariari’ i rovay indraike iereo vaho nimpoly an-tobe ao; nanoe’ iereo andro eneñe izay.
And all the rest of the multitude compassed the city six times from within a short distance, and went back again into the camp; this they did six days.
15 Ie amy andro fahafitoy le nitroatse te manjirik’ andro naho narierie’ iareo i rovay vaho nitoloña’ iareo im-pito; amy àndroy avao ty nañariaria’ iareo i rovay im-pito.
And on the seventh day they rose up early, and compassed the city on that day seven times.
16 Aa ie amy faha-fitoy naho nampipopò i tsifa rey o mpisoroñeo le nanao ty hoe am’ ondatio t’Iehosoa: Mipoñafa, fa natolo’ Iehovà ama’ areo i rovay.
And it came to pass at the seventh circuit the priests blew the trumpets; and Joshua said to the children of Israel, Shout, for the Lord has given you the city.
17 Hatokañe amy Iehovà i rovay, ie naho ze kolotoin-draha ama’e ao; i Rakabe karapilo avao ty ho veloñe naho ze mitraok’ ama’e añ’anjomba’e ao amy te naeta’e o ìrake nampihitrifen-tikañeo.
And the city shall be devoted, it and all things that are in it, to the Lord of Hosts: only do you save Raab the harlot, and all things in her house.
18 Ie amy zao ifoneño o raha navìkeo tsy mone mamà-batañe, fa naho rambese’ areo ho fanañañe o raha navikeo, le hafà’ areo ho am-poheke ka ty tobe’ Israele.
But keep yourselves strictly from the accursed thing, lest you set your mind upon and take of the accursed thing, and you make the camp of the children of Israel and accursed thing, and destroy us.
19 Kila miavake am’ Iehovà i volafotiy, i volamenay vaho o fanake torisìke naho viñeo; ie hazilik’ an-driha’ Iehovà ao.
And all the silver, or gold, or brass, or iron, shall be holy to the Lord; it shall be carried into the treasury of the Lord.
20 Aa le nampipoñake ty koike ondatio, nitiofeñe o tsifao. Naho nahajanjiñe ty feo’ o tsifao ondatio, le pinaza’ ondatio ty koke, naho nikoromake ho pisake i kijoliy vaho nitoañe mb’ an-drova ao ondatio, sindre gaon-dahy niaolo mb’eo nitavañe i rovay.
And the priests sounded with the trumpets: and when the people heard the trumpets, all the people shouted at once with a loud and strong shout; and all the wall fell round about, and all the people went up into the city:
21 Ie fonga nandrotsake an-dela-pibara ze tan-drova ao, ndra lahilahy ndra rakemba, o tora’eo naho o beio, o añombeo naho o añondrio vaho o borìkeo.
and Joshua devoted it to destruction, and all things that were in the city, man and woman, young man and old, and calf and ass, with the edge of the sword.
22 Le hoe t’Iehosoa am’ indaty roe nipiapia amy taney rey: Akia mb’ añ’ anjomba’ i karapiloy vaho akaro i rakembay naho ze hene aze ty amy nifantà’ areo.
And Joshua said to the two young men who had acted a spies, Go into the house of the woman, and bring her out thence, and all that she has.
23 Aa le nimoak’ ao i ajalahy nitampoñe rey naho nakare’ iereo t’i Rakabe naho ty rae’e naho i rene’e naho o rahalahi’eo naho ze vara’e iaby; nakare’ iareo ze hene longo’e vaho nampitobèñe alafe’ i tobe’ Israeley.
And the two young men who had spied out the city entered into the house of the woman, and brought out Raab the harlot, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and her kindred, and all that she had; and they set her without the camp of Israel.
24 Finorototo’ iereo afo i rovay naho ze he’e ama’e ao; naho tsy ty volafoty, ty volamena naho o fanake torisìke naho viñeo avao ze napò’ iareo am-panontoñam-baran-kiboho’ Iehovà ao.
And the city was burnt with fire with all things that were in it; only of the silver, and gold, and brass, and iron, they gave to be brought into the treasury of the Lord.
25 Le rinomba’ Iehosoa veloñe t’i Rakabe karapilo naho o añ’anjomban-drae’eo vaho o aze iabio; ie mimoneñe añivo’ Israele ao ampara’ te henane; ami’te naeta’e i nampihitrife’ Iehosoa hanampoñe Ieriko rey.
And Joshua saved alive Raab the harlot, and all the house of her father, and caused her to dwell in Israel until this day, because she hid the spies which Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
26 Aa le nampifantà’ Iehosoa ondatio henane zay ami’ty hoe: Voa-fàtse añatrefa’ Iehovà t’indaty miongake hañamboatse ty rova Ieriko toy; ami’ty fihomahan-tañoloñoloña’e ty hampipoha’e o mananta’eo vaho ami’ty fivetraha’ i tsitso’ey ty hampijadoña’e o lalam-bei’eo.
And Joshua adjured [them] on that day before the Lord, saying, Cursed [be] the man who shall build that city: he shall lay the foundation of it in his firstborn, and he shall set up the gates of it in his youngest son. And so did Hozan of Baethel; he laid the foundation in Abiron his firstborn, and set up the gates of it in his youngest surviving son.
27 Aa le nitahie’ Iehovà t’Iehosoa; vaho nanitsike i taney ty enge’e.
And the Lord was with Joshua, and his name was in all the land.
