< Josoa 3 >
1 Nañaleñale t’Iehosoa te nitroatse, le nienga i Sitime rekets’ o ana’ Israele iabio naho niheo mb’am’ Iardeney mb’eo, vaho nitobe eo aolo’ t’ie hitsake.
Joshua rose up early in the morning; and they moved from Shittim, and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel. They lodged there before they passed over.
2 Ie nimodo ty telo andro, le nimb’eo mb’eo amy tobey o mpiaoloo;
It happened after three days, that the officers went through the midst of the camp;
3 naho linili’ iareo ondatio ami’ty hoe: Naho oni’ areo i vatam-pañina’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ areoy, naho o mpisoroñe nte-Levy mitarazo azeo, le miavota an-toe’o, vaho oriho.
and they commanded the people, saying, "When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the cohanim the Levites bearing it, then you shall move from your place, and follow it.
4 Fe engao heba’e mizehe kiho ro’arivo varañe añivo’ areo naho ie, ko harinea’ areo, soa te ho fohi’ areo ty lalan-komba’ areo; fa mboe tsy niary mb’ atoy nahareo.
However, keep a distance of about two thousand nine hundred fifty-three feet between yourselves and the ark. Do not come near to it, that you may know the way by which you must go; for you have not passed this way before."
5 Le hoe t’Iehosoa am’ ondatio: Miefera fa hanao raha tsitantane añivo’ areo ao t’Iehovà hamaray.
Joshua said to the people, "Sanctify yourselves; for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you."
6 Nisaontsy amo mpisoroñeo t’Iehosoa ami’ty hoe: Rambeso i vatam-pañinay le mitsàha aolo ondatio. Rinambe’ iereo i vatam-pañinay vaho nimb’ aolo ondatio mb’eo.
Joshua spoke to the cohanim, saying, "Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people." They took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.
7 Le hoe t’Iehovà am’ Iehosoa, Hiorotse hampionjoñe azo ampahaoniña’ Israele iaby iraho te anito, hahafohina’ iareo te, manahake ty nindrezako amy Mosè ty hindrezako ama’o.
The LORD said to Joshua, "Today I will begin to magnify you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.
8 Aa le afantoho o mpisoroñe mitarazo i vatam-pañinaio, ami’ty hoe: Ie tsatok’ añ’olon-drano’ Iardeney le mijohaña am’ Iardeney.
You shall command the cohanim who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, 'When you come to the brink of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.'"
9 Le hoe t’Iehosoa amo ana’ Israeleo: Mb’etoa hijanjiñe ty tsara’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ areo.
Joshua said to the children of Israel, "Come here, and hear the words of the LORD your God."
10 Le hoe t’Iehosoa: Ho fohi’ areo henane zao te añivo’ areo ao t’i Andrianañahare veloñe le tsy mete tsy roahe’e aolo’ areo mb’eo o nte-Kanàneo, naho o nte Kiteo, naho o nte-Kiveo, naho o nte-Perizeo, naho o nte-Girgasio, naho o nte-Amoreo vaho o nte-Iebosio.
Joshua said, "Hereby you shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive the Canaanite, and the Hethite, and the Hivite, and the Perizzite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Jebusite out from before you.
11 Hehe te mitsak’ aolo’ areo mb’ am’ Iardeney ty vatam-pañina’ i Talè’ ty tane toy iaby.
Look, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passes over before you into the Jordan.
12 Aa le joboño ondaty folo-ro’ amby boak’ amy fifokoa’ Israele rey, songa ondaty raike i fifokoañe rey.
Now therefore take twelve men from the children of Israel, one man for each tribe.
13 Amy te, ie mijohañe an-drano’ Iardeney ty lelam-pandia’ o mpisoroñe mitarazo i vatam-pañina’ Iehovà, Talè’ ty tane bey toiio, le ho tampake ty rano’ Iardeney vaho hivotry ho haboañe o rano mikararake boak’ ambone añeo.
It shall come to pass, when the soles of the feet of the cohanim who bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan will be cut off, even the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand in one heap."
14 Aa naho niavotse an-kiboho’e ondatio hitsake Iardeney, le aolo ondatio o mpisoroñe nitarazo i vatam-pañinaio,
It happened, when the people moved from their tents to pass over the Jordan, the cohanim who bore the ark of the covenant being before the people,
15 le vata’e nivotrak’ añ’ olo-drano’ Iardeney ty fandia’ o mpitarazo i vatam-pañinaio—toe manganahana añ’olo’ Iardeney iaby o rano’ Iardeneio amo hene andro an-tsam-pamokarañeo—
and when those who bore the ark had come to the Jordan, and the feet of the cohanim who bore the ark had dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the time of harvest),
16 le nijihetse o rano nizotso boak’ ambone eio naho nionjoñe ho haboañe nitakatse ty atao Adame añe, i rova marine’ i Tsaretàne; le vata’e nitampake o ho nizotso mb’an-dRiak-Arabà naho mb’amy Riake Siray mb’eoo, vaho nitsake tandrife Ierikò ey ondatio.
that the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap, a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off. Then the people passed over right against Jericho.
17 Nijohañe an-tane maik’ anteñateña’ Iardeney o mpisoroñe nitarazo i vatam-pañina’ Iehovàio, le hene nitsak’ an-tane maike t’Israele, ampara’ te tafatsàke Iardeney iaby i valobohòkey.
The cohanim who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan; and all Israel passed over on dry ground, until all the nation had passed completely over the Jordan.
