< Jaona 1 >
1 Tam-pifotorañe añe t’i Tsara, le nindre aman’ Añahare i Tsaray vaho Andrianañahare i Tsaray.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 Ie taman’ Andrianañahare amy fifotorañey.
He was in the beginning with God.
3 Ie ty nañamboarañe ze he’e; aa naho tsy ie, ndra loli’e tsy ho teo ze eo.
All things were made through him, and apart from him nothing was made that has been made.
4 Tama’e o haveloñeo; le nañazavàñe ondatio i haveloñey;
In him was life, and the life was the light of humanity.
5 mireandreañe añ’ieñe ao i Hazavàñey, le tsy nahatindry aze i ieñey.
And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn't overcome it.
6 Teo t’indaty nirahen’ Añahare, Jaona ty tahina’e.
There came a man, sent from God, whose name was John.
7 Pok’ eo re ho valolombeloñe hitalily i Hazavàñey, soa te hatokisa ze kila ondaty.
He came as a witness to testify about the light, that all might believe through him.
8 Tsy t’ie i Hazavàñey, f’ie ro hitaroñe i Hazavàñey.
He was not the light, but was sent that he might testify about the light.
9 Ie ty Hazavañe to mañazava ze hene ondaty mizilike an-tane atoy.
The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.
10 Tami’ ty voatse toy atoy re naho ie ty nañamboarañe ty voatse toy, fe tsy nahafohiñ’ aze ty voatse toy.
He was in the world, and the world was made through him, but the world did not recognize him.
11 Nivotrak’ amo Azeo re, fe tsy nirambesa’ o Azeo.
He came to his own, and those who were his own did not receive him.
12 Fe hene nimea’e lily ho anan’ Añahare ze nandrambe aze, ze miato amy tahina’ey,
But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name,
13 ie tsy nareñen-dio, tsy nisatrie’ ty nofotse, tsy nisafirie’ ondaty, fa i Andrianañahare.
who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14 Ninjare nofotse i Tsaray, ie namoroñe ty sokemitraha’e aman-tika atoy. Nioni’ay ty enge’e, i volonahetse mañeva ty maha bako-tokañe nampiarenen-dRae azey, ie fonitse hasoa naho hatò.
And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only of the Father, full of grace and truth.
15 Nitalily aze t’i Jaona ie nikoi-dava ty hoe: Ie i nanoeko ty hoe, I manonjohy ahiy ro ambone ahy amy t’ie taoloko.
John testified about him and shouted out, saying, "This was the one of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he was before me.'"
16 Songa nandrambe amy halifora’ey tika: hasoa atovon-kasoa.
For of his fullness we all received, and grace upon grace.
17 Toe i Mosè ty nanolorañe Hake, le Iesoà Norizañey ty nitotsaha’ ty falalañe naho ty hatò.
For the Law was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Yeshua the Messiah.
18 Tsy eo ty nahatrea an’Andrianañahare ndra mbia’ mbia; i bako tokañe añ’ arañan-dRae’ey, Ie ty mitaroñe.
No one has seen God at any time. The only Son, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.
19 Zao ty enta’ i Jaona te nirahe’ o Tehodao ty mpisoroñe naho nte-Levy hirik’e Ierosaleme añe nañontane aze, ty hoe: Ia v’iheo?
And this is John's testimony, when the Jewish leaders sent cohanim and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?"
20 Niantoke re, tsy nitety, fa ninà’e ty hoe: Tsy izaho i Norizañey.
And he confessed, and did not deny, but he confessed, "I am not the Messiah."
21 Aa hoe ty ontane’ iareo: Ia arè? i Elia v’iheo? le hoe re: Tsy ie iraho, I mpitokiy hao? le hoe re: Aiy!
And they asked him, "What then? Are you Elijah?" And he said, "I am not." "Are you the Prophet?" And he answered, "No."
22 Le hoe ty nanoa’ iareo: Ia v’iheo, hahatoiña’ay o nañirak’ anaio? Akore ty anoñona’o ty vata’o?
They said therefore to him, "Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?"
23 Hoe re: Izaho ty fiarañanaña’ i mikoik’ am-patrambey añey, Vantaño ty lala’ i Talè, amy nisaontsie’ Isaia mpitokiy.
He said, "I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Make straight the way of the Lord,' as Isaiah the prophet said."
24 Toe irake boak’ amo Fariseoo iereo,
(Now they had been sent from the Pharisees.)
25 ie nañontane ty hoe: Akore t’ie mampilipotse, ihe tsy i Norizañey, tsy i Elia, tsy i Mpitokiy?
And they asked him, "Why then do you immerse, if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?"
26 Tinoi’ i Jaona ty hoe: Mampilipotse an-drano iraho, fe mijohañe añivo’ areo ao ty tsy fohi’ areo;
John answered them, saying, "I immerse in water, but among you stands one whom you do not know.
27 i manonjohy ahy nanoeñe aolokoy; tsy sazo ahy ty hañaha i talin-kana’ey.
He is the one who comes after me, whose sandal strap I'm not worthy to loosen."
28 Nanoeñe e Betania alafe’ Iordaney zay amy fampilipora’ i Jaonay.
These things were done in Bethany across the Jordan, where John was immersing.
29 Tamy loakandroy, nioni’e te nitotofa’ Iesoà, le hoe re: Heheke o Vik’ añondrin’ Añahare mpañaha hakeo’ ty voatse toio.
The next day, he saw Yeshua coming to him, and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.
30 Ie i nitaroñekoy ty hoe: Manonjohy ahy t’indaty ambone te amako amy t’ie taoloko.
This is he of whom I said, 'After me comes a man who ranks ahead of me, because he existed before me.'
31 Tsy napotako re: fe ty hampiboahañe aze am’ Israele ty nivotrahako atoy hampilipotse an-drano.
I did not know him, but for this reason I came immersing in water: that he would be revealed to Israel."
32 Le hoe ty nitaroñe’ i Jaona: Nahatrea i Arofoy iraho, nizotso hoe deho boak’an-dindìñe ey nipetake ama’e.
And John testified, saying, "I saw the Ruach descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him.
33 Ninofiko re, fe nanao ty hoe amako i nañitrik’ ahy hampilipotse an-dranoy: Ty isa’o izotsoa’ i Arofoy vaho mipetak’ ama’e, ie ty mandipotse amy Arofo Masiñey.
And I did not recognize him, but he who sent me to immerse in water, he said to me, 'On whomever you will see the Ruach descending, and remaining on him, this is he who immerses in the Ruach ha-Kodesh.'
34 Le nahatrea iraho vaho mitaroñe te Ie i Anak’ Andrianañaharey.
And I have seen and have testified that this is the Chosen One of God."
35 Nijohañ’eo mindre ami’ty mpiama’e roe t’i Jaona te loak’ andro.
Again, the next day, John was standing with two of his talmidim,
36 Aa ie nahaisake Iesoà nañavelo, le hoe re: Heheke o Vik’ añondrin’ Añahareo!
and he looked at Yeshua as he walked, and said, "Look, the Lamb of God."
37 Jinanji’ i mpiama’e roe rey i saontsi’ey le nañorike Iesoà.
And the two talmidim heard him say this, and they followed Yeshua.
38 Nitolike t’Iesoà, nahavazoho t’ie nañorike vaho nanoa’e ty hoe: Ino ty ipaia’ areo? Le hoe iereo tama’e: O Raby, toe: Talè, aia ty imoneña’o?
And Yeshua turned and saw them following, and said to them, "What are you looking for?" They said to him, "Rabbi" (which translated means Teacher), "where are you staying?"
39 Le nanoa’e ty hoe: Antao, hañisake: Aa le nimb’eo iereo nahaisake i nimoneña’ey le nitambatse ama’e ao amy àndroy, ie va’e tami’ty ora faha-folo.
He said to them, "Come, and you will see." They came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about four in the afternoon.
40 Ty raik’ amy roe nahajanjiñe i Jaona naho nanonjohy aze rey le i Andrea, rahalahi’ i Simona Petera;
One of the two who heard John, and followed him, was Andrew, Shim'on Peter's brother.
41 Tendrek’ aze hey t’i Simona rahalahi’e le nanoa’e ty hoe: Nioni’ay t’i Mesia, toe: i Norizañey.
He first found his own brother, Shim'on, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah." (which is translated, Anointed One).
42 Nindese’e mb’amy Iesoà mb’eo, le ie nivazoho Iesoà le nanoe’e ty hoe: Ihe ro Simona ana’ i Jaona. Hatao Kefasy irehe, toe: vato).
He brought him to Yeshua. Yeshua looked at him, and said, "You are Shim'on the son of John. You shall be called Kefa" (which is translated, Peter).
43 Ie amy loak’ androy te homb’ e Galilia ao t’Iesoà, le nitendreke i Filipo vaho nanoa’e ty hoe: Oriho iraho.
On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galil, and he found Philip. And Yeshua said to him, "Follow me."
44 Nte-Betsaida t’i Filipo, ty rova’ i Andrea naho i Petera.
Now Philip was from Beit Tzaidah, of the city of Andrew and Peter.
45 Nirendre’ i Filipo t’i Natanaela vaho nanoa’e ty hoe: Fa nifanjo amy sinoki’ i Mosè amy Hake naho amo Mpitokioy zahay, Iesoà nte-Nazareta, ana’ Iosefe!
Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, "We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and the Prophets wrote: Yeshua of Natzeret, the son of Joseph."
46 Hoe t’i Natanaela tama’e: Mete iboahan-draha soa hao ty Nazareta? Antao hisary, hoe t’i Filipo ama’e.
And Nathanael said to him, "Can any good thing come out of Natzeret?" Philip said to him, "Come and see."
47 Ie nivazoho’ Iesoà t’i Natanaela nitotok’ aze, le hoe re ty ama’e: Heheke, ty toe ana’ Israele, ty tsy am-pamañahiañe!
Yeshua saw Nathanael coming to him, and said about him, "Look, a true Israelite in whom there is no deceit."
48 Le hoe ty nanoa’ i Natanaela: Aia ty naharofoana’o ahy? Tinoi’ Iesoà ty hoe: Ihe mbe tsy kinai’ i Filipo le nitreako ambane’ i sakoañey.
Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Yeshua answered him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."
49 Aa le tinoi’ i Natanaela ty hoe: O Raby, Anan’ Añahare irehe; Ihe ro Mpanjaka’ Israele.
Nathanael answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God. You are King of Israel."
50 Le ty hoe ty natoi’ Iesoà aze: Amy te nanoako t’ie nahatrea azo ambane’ i sakoañey hao ro nampiantok’ azo? Mbe ho oni’o ty lombolombo’e.
Yeshua answered him, "Because I told you, 'I saw you underneath the fig tree,' do you believe? You will see greater things than these."
51 Le tinovo’e ty hoe: Eka! to t’itaroñako te mbe ho oni’ areo ty fisokafa’ i likerañey naho ty fionjonañe naho ty fizotsoa’ o anjelin’ Añahareo amy Ana’ ondatiy.
And he said to him, "Truly, truly, I tell you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."
