< Joela 2 >
1 Popòho e Tsione ao ty antsiva, koiho an-kaboako miavake ey ty hazolava; ee te hihondrahondra iaby ondaty an-tane atoio, fa hitsatoke ty andro’ Iehovà; toe fa an-titotse;
Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain; let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
2 Andro maieñe naho mimoromoroñe, andro mandrahoñe naho aman-talinjo mihanake am-bohitsey manahake t’ie manjirik’andro; ondaty mifamorohotse naho fàtratse; mboe lia’e tsy niañ’ohatse; vaho le lia’e tsy ho limbezañe, ampara’ ty taon-tariratse maro añe.
a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, as the dawn spread upon the mountains; a great people and a strong, there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after them, even to the years of many generations.
3 Mamorototo aolo’e eo ty afo, vaho mivoly ama’e ty soba miforehetse, ie hoe golobo’ i Edene ty aolo’e eo le liolio, mangoakoake ty amboho’e; tsy eo ty mahaborifitse ama’e.
A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and none hath escaped them.
4 Manahake o soavalao iereo, naho o mpiningi-tsoavalao, izay ty fitsondemboha’ iareo.
The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so do they run.
5 Manahake ty fitrakotrakon-tsarete mitrantràñe an-dengom-bohitse ey, hoe ty fikosisiha’ ty lel’afo mipilotse ahetse, naho ondaty maozatse miriritse hialy.
Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains do they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.
6 Mampalorè ondatio te zoeñe; fonga mikò-foty o laharañeo.
At their presence the peoples are in anguish: all faces are waxed pale.
7 Manahake o fanalolahio ty filaisa’ iareo, anganiha’ iareo o kijolio hoe lahin-defoñe, songa mandrodo amy lala’ey, tsy eo ty mivitsok’ am-pidadaña’e.
They run like mighty men; they climb the wall like men of war; and they march every one on his ways, and they break not their ranks.
8 Tsy mifampikititse iereo fa songa mitrokotroko amy lala’ey; aa ndra te mipenkañe ty singa ipaoha’e, ie tsy fere.
Neither doth one thrust another; they march every one in his path: and they burst through the weapons, and break not off [their course].
9 Herereafe’ ty rova, mirimatse an-drindriñe, manganike mb’anjomba ao; mitsoropoke an-dalan-kede hoe malaso.
They leap upon the city; they run upon the wall; they climb up into the houses; they enter in at the windows like a thief.
10 Manginikinik’ aolo’e eo ty tane, miozoñozoñe o likerañeo; mikò-mainte i àndroy naho i volañey, le asita’ o vasiañeo o fimilemile’eo.
The earth quaketh before them; the heavens tremble: the sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining:
11 Mampipoña-piarañanañañe añatrefa’ o lahindefo’eo t’Iehovà; amy te ra’elahy o lahindefo’eo, fatratse o mañorike o tsara’eoo; toe jabajaba ty andro’ Iehovà vaho mampangebahebake, Ia ty mahafifeak’ ama’e?
And the LORD uttereth his voice before his army; for his camp is very great; for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
12 Ie amy zao, hoe t’Iehovà, itoliho an-kaliforan’arofo, naho am-pililarañe, am-pirovetañe, vaho am-pangololoihañe.
Yet even now, saith the LORD, turn ye unto me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:
13 Mandrovita arofo fa tsy sikiñe, le mitoliha am’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ areo, fa matarike naho miferenaiñe, malaon-kaviñerañe naho ra’elahy an-kafatraram-pikokoañe, vaho teñene’e ty fametsahan-kankàñe.
and rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God, for he is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy, and repenteth him of the evil.
14 Ia ty mahafohiñe, hera hibalike re naho hiheve, vaho hamopoke fañanintsiñe am-boho’e eo, añengao mahakama naho enga-rano am’Iehovà Andrianañahare’ areo.
Who knoweth whether he will not turn and repent, and leave a blessing behind him, even a meal offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?
15 Popoho e Tsione ao i antsivay, añamasiño lilitse, koiho ty fivory miavake;
Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:
16 Atontono ondatio; hamasiño ty fivory, arokandrokaño o androanavio, atolaho o ajajao rekets’ o milomolomo am-patroao, ampiakaro an-kivoho’e i mpañengay, boak’ an-kiboho’e ao i enga-vaoy.
gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the old men, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.
17 Ehe te hiharovetse añivo’ i fizilihañey naho i kitreliy o mpisoroñe mpitoro’ Iehovào, hanao ty hoe: Ferenaiño ondati’oo, ry Iehovà, le ko atolo’o ho arinjeñeñe o lova’oo hamokafoka’ o kilakila’ ndatio; aa vaho akore t’ie hampiboele am’ondatio ty hoe: Aia t’i Andrianañahare’ iareo?
Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?
18 Nikirañe i tane’ey amy zao t’Iehovà, vaho ferenaiña’e ondati’eo,
Then was the LORD jealous for his land, and had pity on his people.
19 Hanoiñe t’Iehovà hanao ty hoe am’ondati’eo: Ingo te hampañitrifeko ampemba vao naho divay vao vaho menake, haha-anjañe anahareo, le tsy hanoeko ho fañinjea’ o kilakila’ ondatio ka.
And the LORD answered and said unto his people, Behold, I will send you corn, and wine, and oil, and ye shall be satisfied therewith: and I will no more make you a reproach among the nations:
20 Fa hasitako lavitse anahareo o ‘ntavaratseo, naho haronjeko mb’an-tane harake naho bangìñe añe; hitolike mb’amy riak’ atiñanañey o mpiaolo’eo, naho o am-boli’eo mb’an-driak’ ahandrefañey, le hionjoñe ty imbo’e vaho hiambone ty fitrotrora’e, amy te ra’elahy o nanoe’eo.
but I will remove far off from you the northern [army], and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, his forepart into the eastern sea, and his hinder part into the western sea; and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.
21 Ko hemban-drehe ry tane; mifalea naho mandià taroba; amy te fanjàka o fitoloña’ Iehovào.
Fear not, O land, be glad and rejoice; for the LORD hath done great things.
22 Ko matahotse ry bibin-kivokeo; fa mbe haindoñindoñe o fiandrazañe am-patrambeio, mbe hamoa ty voa’e o hatae’eo, songa hamokatse ty sakoa naho ty vahe.
Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field; for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength.
23 Mirebeha ry ana’ i Tsioneo, mifalea am’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ areo, fa havantañañe ty mampahavy i ora-mafaitsey, toe hampahavia’e orañe, i aoloy naho i orañ’asotriy manahake te taolo.
Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he giveth you the former rain in just measure, and he causeth to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain, in the first [month].
24 Ho lifotse ampemba o rihao, vaho handopatse divay naho menake o sajoao.
And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil.
25 Havahako ama’ areo o taoñe nabotse’ o valalao, naho o maramboloo, naho o beañeo vaho o voan-taneo, i mpirai-lian-dahin-defoñe niraheko ama’ areoy.
And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
26 Ho eneñe mahakama nahareo, toe ho anjañe, naho ho rengè’ areo ty tahina’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ areo, amy hasoa tsitantane nitoloña’ey; vaho tsy ho salatse ka ondatikoo.
And ye shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and shall praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
27 Le ho fohi’ areo te añivo’ Israele ao iraho, le te Izaho, Iehovà Andrianañahare’ areo ro tsy aman-tovo’e, vaho tsy ho salatse ka ondatikoo.
And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the LORD your God, and there is none else: and my people shall never be ashamed.
28 Ie heneke zao, hadoako amy ze atao nofotse ty Troko; le hitoky o ana-dahio naho o anak’ampela’ areoo, naho hañinofy o androanavi’ areoo, vaho hahaoniñe aroñaroñe o ajalahi’ areoo;
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:
29 Le hailiko amo mpitoroñeo, naho amo anak’ ampatañeo ty Troko amy andro rezay.
and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
30 Hampiboahako raha tsitantane an-dindiñe ey, naho an-tane atoy, lio naho afo, vaho hatoeñe mijoala.
And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.
31 Hafotetse ho ieñe i àndroy, naho ho lio i volañey, aolo ty fitotsaha’ i andro’ Iehovà jabajaba naho mampangebahebakey.
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.
32 Ie amy zay, ho rombaheñe ze mikanjy ty tahina’ Iehovà; fa hipolititse an-kaboa’ i Tsione ao naho e Ierosalaime ao ty ila’e amy nafè’ Iehovày, vaho ho kanjie’ Iehovà o sehanga’eo.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those that escape, as the LORD hath said, and among the remnant those whom the LORD doth call.
