< Joba 8 >
1 Nanoiñe amy zao t’i Bildade nte-Sohy:
Then Baldad the Sauchite answered, and said,
2 Pak’ombia te ho saontsie’o o raha zao? Ampara ombia te ho tio-bey avao o entam-palie’oo?
How long will you speak these things, [how long shall] the breath of your mouth [be] abundant in words?
3 Mengohen’ Añahare hao ty zaka? Ampiolahe’ i El-Sadai hao ty hatò?
Will the Lord be unjust when he judges; or will he that has made all things pervert justice?
4 Ie nandilats’ azo o ana’oo, le nasese’e ami’ty haozara’ o fiodia’eo.
If your sons have sinned before him, he has cast them away because of their transgression.
5 Aa naho nitsoehe’o t’i Andrianañahare vaho ty fiferenaiña’ i El-Sadai,
But be you early in prayer to the Lord Almighty.
6 naho malio naho vantan-drehe, le hivañona’e hampipoly i akiban-kavantaña’oy.
If you are pure and true, he will listen to your supplication, and will restore to you the habitation of righteousness.
7 Le ndra te nikede ty fifotora’o, hitombo ho ra’elahy ty figadoña’o.
Though then your beginning should be small, yet your end should be unspeakably great.
8 Ehe añontaneo i sà’ taoloy vaho imaneo o nitsikarahen-droae’eo,
For ask of the former generation, and search diligently among the race of [our] fathers:
9 Bahimo tika fa toly omale avao, mbore talinjo ambone’ ty tane toy o andron-tikañeo.
(for we are of yesterday, and know nothing; for our life upon the earth is a shadow: )
10 Aa vaho tsy ho toroa’ iareo hao, hisaontsy ama’o, hañakatse entañe boak’ añ’arofo’ iareo ao?
shall not these teach you, and report [to you], and bring out words from [their] heart?
11 Mahafitiry hao ty vinda lehe tsy an-tane hinake? Hitiry tsy aman-drano hao ty vondro?
Does the rush flourish without water, or shall the flag grow up without moisture?
12 Ie maindoñe, tsy nibiraeñe, le mbe miheatse aolo’ ze hene rongoñe.
When it is yet on the root, and [though] it has not been cut down, does not any herb wither before it has received moisture?
13 Izay ty lala’ o mañaliño an’ Andrianañahareo; toe modo fitamàñe ty tsy aman-Kake.
Thus then shall be the end of all that forget the Lord: for the hope of the ungodly shall perish.
14 Ie maràntsañe ty fiatoa’e; naho fararotse ty fatokisa’e.
For his house shall be without inhabitants, and his tent shall prove a spider's web.
15 Hiatoa’e ty anjomba’e fe tsy hahafijadoñe; vontitire’e fe tsy leo’e.
If he should prop up his house, it shall not stand: and when he has taken hold of it, it shall not remain.
16 Maindoñindoñe re añatrefa’ i àndroy andrevaha’ o tsampa’eo i golobo’ey,
For it is moist under the sun, and his branch shall come forth out of his dung-heap.
17 vandindire’ o vaha’eo ty votrim-bato, i traño-vatoo nitsifira’ iareoy.
He lies down upon a gathering of stones, and shall live in the mist of flints.
18 Ie ombotañe amy toe’ey, le ho lañe’e, ami’ty hoe, Mbe lia tsy nahatrea azo iraho.
If [God] should destroy [him], his place shall deny him. Hast you not seen such things,
19 Eka, Izay ty haeha’ i lia’ey, mbe hitiry amo debokeo ka ty ila’e.
that such is the overthrow of the ungodly? and out of the earth another shall grow.
20 Oniño te tsy ho farien’ Añahare ty vañoñe vaho tsy ho tohaña’e o lo-tserekeo.
For the Lord will by no means reject the harmless man; but he will not receive any gift of the ungodly.
21 Mbe ho lifore’e fiankahafañe ty falie’o naho o fivimbi’oo am-pazake.
But he will fill with laughter the mouth of the sincere, and their lips with thanksgiving.
22 Ho saroñen-kasalarañe ze malaiñe azo, ho modo ty kivoho’ o tsivokatseo.
But their adversaries shall clothe themselves with shame; and the habitation of the ungodly shall perish.
