Joba 29
1 Tinoi’Iobe i lañona’ey, ami’ty hoe:
And Job continued and said in his parable,
2 Ee t’ie nanahake o volañeo, naho o andro narovan’ Añahare ahikoo;
Oh that I were as in months past, wherein God preserved me!
3 ie niiloilo ambone’ lohako eo ty failo’e, naho i hazavà’ey ty nirangako añ’ieñe ao;
As when his lamp shone over my head; when by his light I walked through darkness.
4 ie tañ’andro naha añoñ’ay ahy, vaho tambone’ kibohoko eo ty firañetan’ Añahare;
[As] when I steadfastly pursued my ways, when God took care of my house.
5 ie mbe tamako t’i El-Sadai, naho niarikoboñ’ ahy o keleiakoo;
When I was very fruitful, and my children were about me;
6 ie nisasan-kendron-dronono o liakoo, vaho nadoandoa’ o vatoo amako ty menake!
when my ways were moistened with butter, and the mountains flowed for me with milk.
7 Ie niakatse mb’an-dalambein-drova mb’eo iraho, ie rinambeko antameañe eo i fitobohakoy.
When I went forth early in the city, and the seat was placed for me in the streets.
8 Nisitak’ ahiko o ajalahio te zoeñe, songa niongake ty bey vaho nijohañe;
The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and all the old men stood up.
9 Nitroatse ami’ty fivesoveso’e o roandriañeo vaho nitàm-palie.
And the great men ceased speaking, and laid their finger on their mouth.
10 Nianjiñe ty fiarañanaña’ o roandriañeo, le nipitek’ an-dañilañy o famele’eo.
And they that heard [me] blessed me, and their tongue clave to their throat.
11 Ie jinanjin-dravembia, le natao’e haha iraho, ie niisam-pihaino, le nitalily ahy;
For the ear heard, and blessed me; and the eye saw me, and turned aside.
12 amy te rinombako ty rarake nikai-drombake, i bode-rae tsy amam-pañimbay.
For I saved the poor out of the hand of the oppressor, and helped the fatherless who had no helper.
13 Nivotrak’ amako ty tata’ i nipetrokey, vaho nampisaboeko an-kaehake ty arofo’ o vantotseo.
Let the blessing of the perishing one come upon me; yea, the mouth of the widow has blessed me.
14 Niombeako ty havantañañe, le nisalora’e; nanahake ty sabaka reke-tsarimbo ty havañonako.
Also I put on righteousness, and clothed myself with judgment like a mantle.
15 Ni-fihaino ami’ty fey iraho, naho fandia amo kepekeo.
I was the eye of the blind, and the foot of the lame.
16 Ni-rae’ o poie’eo, vaho nitsikaraheko ty nipaia’ i alik’amakoy.
I was the father of the helpless; and I searched out the cause which I knew not.
17 Pinekako ty famotsi’ o tsereheñeo naho tinavako amo nife’eo i nitsindrohe’ey.
And I broke the jaw-teeth of the unrighteous; I plucked the spoil out of the midst of their teeth.
18 Le hoe ty fitsakoreako, t’ie hikenkañe añ’akibako ao, naho hampimiràko amo faseñeo ty androko;
And I said, My age shall continue as the stem of a palm-tree; I shall live a long while.
19 mitsiriaria mb’an-drano o vahakoo vaho mialeñe amo tsampakoo ty zono.
[My] root was spread out by the water, and the dew would lodge on my crop.
20 Vao amako nainai’e ty engeko, vaoeñe an-tañako ao ty faleko.
My glory was fresh in me, and by bow prospered in his hand.
21 Nijanjiñe naho nandiñe ahy ondatio, nianjiñe t’ie namereako.
[Men] heard me, and gave heed, and they were silent at my counsel.
22 Ie nilañon-draho, tsy nisaontsy iereo, nitsopatsopak’ am’iereo o entakoo.
At my word they spoke not again, and they were very gland whenever I spoke to them.
23 Hoe orañe ty nandiñisa’ iareo ahiko; ie nipaña-palie hoe aman’ oram-panjaka.
As the thirsty earth expecting the rain, so they [waited for] my speech.
24 Nisomilahako t’ie tsy niantoke; le tsy nazè’ iereo ty filoeloean-tareheko.
Were I to laugh on them, they would not believe [it]; and the light of my face has not failed.
25 Jinoboko ty lala hombà’ iareo vaho nitoboke hoe talè, nimoneñe hoe mpanjaka ami’ty borizà’e, manahake ty mpañohòm-pandala.
I chose out their way, and sat chief, and dwelt as a king in the midst of warriors, as one comforting mourners.
