< Joba 17 >

1 Fa demoke ty troko, le modo o androkoo; vaho veka’e amako ty kibory.
My spirit hath been destroyed, My days extinguished — graves [are] for me.
2 Toe amako atoa o mañinje ahikoo; naho harefe’ o masokoo ty fanigiha’ iareo?
If not — mockeries [are] with me. And in their provocations mine eye lodgeth.
3 Toloro antoke henaneo, Ihe ro tsoake, ia ka ty hifampipao-pitàñe amako?
Place, I pray Thee, my pledge with Thee; Who is he that striketh hand with me?
4 Fa nakite’o ty tro’ iareo tsy hahilala, aa le tsy honjone’o.
For their heart Thou hast hidden From understanding, Therefore Thou dost not exalt them.
5 Ie mifosa rañetse hahazoa’e raha, le hilesa ka o mason’ ana’eo.
For a portion he sheweth friendship, And the eyes of his sons are consumed.
6 Fe nanoa’e mpitolom-bola’ ondaty; firorà’ o lahilahio ty tareheko.
And he set me up for a proverb of the peoples, And a wonder before them I am.
7 Nampaieñe ty fioremeñako o masokoo, hoe talinjo avao o fangefangekoo.
And dim from sorrow is mine eye, And my members as a shadow all of them.
8 Ilatsa’ ondaty vantañeo, hitrobo-vatañe ty vaño hatreatre’e ty tsy aman-kake.
Astonished are the upright at this, And the innocent against the profane Stirreth himself up.
9 Mitan-ty lala’e ty marentane, naho mihaozatse vaho mihafatratse ty malio fitàñe.
And the righteous layeth hold [on] his way, And the clean of hands addeth strength, And — dumb are they all.
10 Aa inahareo iaby, mibaliha mb’etoa indraike, f’ie tsy hahatrea ondaty mahilala ama’ areo.
Return, and come in, I pray you, And I find not among you a wise man.
11 Fa modo o androkoo, nipeñapeñake o safirikoo; naho o fisalalan-trokoo!
My days have passed by, My devices have been broken off, The possessions of my heart!
12 Afote’ iereo ho andro ty haleñe [ami’ty hoe]: Mitotoke añatrefa’ i ieñey ty hazavàñe,
Night for day they appoint, Light [is] near because of darkness.
13 Ie andiñisako ho akibako ty tsikeokeoke, naho añ’ieñe ao ty andafihako i tihikoy, (Sheol h7585)
If I wait — Sheol [is] my house, In darkness I have spread out my couch. (Sheol h7585)
14 Aa naho tokaveko i koboñey, [ty hoe: ] Raeko irehe, naho i oletsey: Ihe ty Reneko naho rahavaveko;
To corruption I have called: — 'Thou [art] my father.' 'My mother' and 'my sister' — to the worm.
15 Aia arè o fitamakoo? I fisalalàkoy, ia ty mahaisak’ aze?
And where [is] now my hope? Yea, my hope, who doth behold it?
16 Hilenteke mb’an-tsikeokeoke ao hao re? hitrao-pitofàñe an-debok’ ao hao zahay. (Sheol h7585)
[To] the parts of Sheol ye go down, If together on the dust we may rest. (Sheol h7585)
