< Jeremia 6 >
1 Mipitsiha mb’am-pipalirañe mb’eo ry ana’ i Beniamineo, boak’ an-teñateña’ Ierosalaime ao; popòho e Tekoa añe i antsivay, vaho ampitroaro fanairañe e Bete-hak’kereme eñe; fa hirik’ avaratse ty hankàñe, ty fandrotsahañe jabajaba.
O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Beth-haccerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.
2 I soa vintañe naho malemey, i anak’ampela’ i Tsioney ro haitoako.
I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate [woman].
3 Hivotrak’ ama’e o mpiarakeo rekets’ o lia-rai’eo, hampitroatse fiarikatohañe ami’ty kivoho’ iareo, le songa hiandrazañe an-toe’e.
The shepherds with their flocks shall come to her; they shall pitch [their] tents against her on every side; they shall feed every one in his place.
4 Ihentseño aly; miongaha hanameantika aze an-tsingilingiliñeñe. Feh’ ohatse amantika, fa miroñe i àndroy, mihalava o talinjon-karivao!
Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe to us! for the day departeth, for the shadows of the evening are lengthened.
5 Miavota hanamean-tika haleñe, handrotsahantika o anjomba’eo!
Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.
6 Hoe t’Iehovà’ i Màroy: Firao o hatae’eo; atroaro am’Ierosalaime ty fanongàm-panameañe; toe rova tsy mete tsy lilovañe, fa forekeke avao ty ama’e ao.
For thus hath the LORD of hosts said, Hew ye down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this [is] the city to be visited; she [is] wholly oppression in the midst of her.
7 Manahake ty fitana’ o vovoñeo ty hamamin-drano’e, ty fitana’e ho veloñe o haloloa’eo; janjiñeñe ama’e ao ty tazataza naho ty tsiborohetoke; añatrefako eo nainai’e ty hasiloke naho ty fere.
As a fountain casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her wickedness: violence and devastation is heard in her; before me continually [are] grief and wounds.
8 Mitaoa ry Ierosalaime, kera ho alik’amako nahareo, ie hampangoakoaheko ho tane tsy amam-pimoneñe.
Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.
9 Hoe t’Iehovà’ i Màroy: Ho vata’e tsindrohe’iareo ty sisa’ Israele hambañe amy t’ie vahe; ozaño am-pita’o indraike i tsampa’ey manahake ty mpanifo valoboke.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back thy hand as a grape-gatherer into the baskets.
10 Ia ty ho volañeko naho hatahataeko, hahafijanjiña’ iareo? Hehe, domoke o ravembia’ iareoo, tsy mahatsendreñe; Hete! fañinjeañe am’iereo ty tsara’ Iehovà, tsy mahafale’ iareo.
To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? Behold, their ear [is] uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the LORD is to them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
11 Fe lifo’ ty fiforoforo’ Iehovà iraho; mahamokotse ahy ty mitañ’aze; adoaño amo ajaja an-dalañeo, naho amo ajalahy mifañosoñeo; songa ho rambeseñe ie mirovaly, o zoke’eo rekets’ o androanavio.
Therefore I am full of the fury of the LORD; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with [him that is] full of days.
12 Ho limbeze’ ty ila’e o anjomba’iareoo, o tetekeo miharo amo rakemba’ iareoo; fa hatora-kitsiko amo mpimoneñe amy taneio ty tañako, hoe t’Iehovà.
And their houses shall be turned to others, [with their] fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the LORD.
13 Songa mitavañe hitomboa’e ty tsitso’e am’iareo pak’ami’ty loho bey; fonga mpikatramo ty mpitoky sikal’ami’ty mpisoroñe.
For from the least of them even to the greatest of them every one [is] given to covetousness; and from the prophet even to the priest every one dealeth falsely.
14 Nitaha’ iareo tsidaredare ty fere’ ondatikoo, ami’ty hoe, Fañanintsiñe, Fañanintsiñe, ie tsy eo ty Fanintsiñañe.
They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when [there is] no peace.
15 Toko’e ho nahasalatse iereo ty hativàñe nanoe’iereo, f’ie tsy mahay meñatse. Aa le hikorovoke amo mikorovokeo amy androm-pandilovañey iereo, vaho hitsikapy, hoe t’Iehovà.
Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? no, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time [that] I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
16 Hoe t’Iehovà: Mijohaña an-dala mifanivalañe eo le mahaisaha, mañontanea o oloñoloñe haehaeo, te aia i lalam-bantañey; vaho añavelò, hahatendreha’ areo fitofan’ arofo. Fa hoe iareo: Zahay tsy homb’eo.
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where [is] the good way, and walk in it, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk [in it].
17 Mbore nampitroarako mpijilo, nanao ty hoe: Haoño ty feo’ i antsivay! Hoe ka iereo: Zahay tsy hañaoñe.
Also I set watchmen over you, [saying], Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.
18 Aa le mijanjiña ry fifeheañeo vaho mahafohina ry valobohòkeo, ty haseseke am’iareo:
Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what [is] among them.
19 Tsanoño ry tane; Inao! handesako hankàñe ondaty retoa, ty toli’ o fikinià’ iareoo, amy t’ie tsy nañaoñe o volakoo; mbore nifarie’ iareo i Fanoroakoy.
Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, [even] the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened to my words, nor to my law, but have rejected it.
20 Hanoeko inoñe o rame boake Sebao, naho o fare boake tsietoitaneo? Tsy noko o enga’ oroa’ areoo, tsy mahafale ahy o fisoroña’ areoo.
To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a distant country? your burnt-offerings [are] not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet to me.
21 Aa le hoe t’Iehovà: Hehe te mampipoke vato mahatsikapy aolo’ ondaty retoa iraho, hampitsikapy roae reketse keleiañe; fonga ho mongotse ty mpimoneñe miharo rañetse.
Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will lay stumbling-blocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbor and his friend shall perish.
22 Aa le hoe t’Iehovà: Heheke, ondaty mangovovoke mb’etoy boak’an-tane avaratseo, fifeheañe jabajaba ty hahetseketseke boake tsietoimoneñe añe.
Thus saith the LORD, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.
23 Vontitire’ iareo ty fale naho ty lefoñe, masiake iereo, tsy miferenay, manahake ty fitroña’ i riakey ty fikoraha’ iareo; naho miningitse soavala, miriritse hoe lahin-defo miatrek’aly, ama’o ry anak’ ampela’ i Tsione!
They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they [are] cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.
24 Ie nitsanoña’ay talily, dredra’e o taña’aio; mamihiñe anay ty lovilovy, ty haorean-drakemba mitsongo.
We have heard the fame of it: our hands become feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, [and] pain, as of a woman in travail.
25 Ko miakatse mb’an-tetek’ ao, ko mañavelo an-damoke eo; amy te mampiboele harevendreveñañe mb’etia mb’atia ty fibara’ i rafelahiy.
Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy [and] fear [is] on every side.
26 O ry anak’ ampela’ ondatiko, misikìna gony, vaho milalilalia an-davenoke; miroveta hoe t’ie bako tokañe, mandalà añ’aferon’ate, amy te hivovò amantika i mpandrotsakey.
O daughter of my people, gird [thee] with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, [as for] an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.
27 Nanoeko mpañasohaso naho mpitsòke am’ondatikoo irehe, hahafohina’o naho hitsikaraha’o o sata’eo.
I have set thee [for] a tower [and] a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.
28 Fonga mpiola manjehatse iereo, mb’eo mb’eo mamokafoka avao; torisìke naho viñe, songa tsivokatse.
They [are] all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: [they are] brass and iron; they [are] all corrupters.
29 Mitioke mafe o famoforañeo, forototoe’ ty afo i firakey, tsy lefe ty fitoloñam-pitranahañe, amy te tsy mete ho faoheñe ama’e o halò-tserehañeo.
The bellows is burned, the lead is consumed by the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away.
30 Atao ty hoe taim-bolafoty iereo, amy te naforintse’ Iehovà.
Reprobate silver shall [men] call them, because the LORD hath rejected them.
