< Jeremia 4 >
1 Ie mimpoly irehe, ry Israele, hoe t’Iehovà, le mimpolia amako, naho asitaho añ’atrefako eo o raha tìva’oo, vaho ko mitroetroe,
O Israel, if thou returne, returne vnto me, saith the Lord: and if thou put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remoue.
2 naho ifanta’o ty hoe: Amy te veloñe t’Iehovà! ami’ty fahiti’e naho ty hatò’e naho ty havañonañe, le ie ty hifampitata’ o fifeheañeo vaho hifampirengea’ iareo.
And thou shalt sweare, The Lord liueth in trueth, in iudgement, and in righteousnesse, and the nations shall be blessed in him, and shall glorie in him.
3 Fa hoe t’Iehovà am’ondati’ Iehodào naho am’ Ierosalaime: Trabatrabàho o moka’ areoo, vaho ko mitongy amo fatikeo.
For thus saith the Lord to the men of Iudah, and to Ierusalem,
4 Misavara ho am’ Iehovà, afaho ty ofoke añ’arofo’ areo ao, ry ondati’ Iehodào naho mpimoneñe e Ierosalaimeo, tsy mone hionjom-beo hoe afo ty habosehako, hisolebatse tsy mete vonoeñe, ami’ty hatsivokara’ o sata’areoo.
Breake vp your fallowe ground, and sowe not among the thornes: be circumcised to the Lord, and take away the foreskinnes of your hearts, ye men of Iudah, and inhabitants of Ierusalem, lest my wrath come foorth like fire, and burne, that none can quenche it, because of the wickednesse of your inuentions.
5 Kaikaiho e Iehodà ao, naho tseizo e Ierosalaime ao, ty hoe: Popòho amy taney ao ty antsiva; mifanontona, antao himoake amo rova fatratseo!
Declare in Iudah, and shewe forth in Ierusalem, and say, Blowe the trumpet in the lande: cry, and gather together, and say, Assemble your selues, and let vs goe into strong cities.
6 Atroaro mb’e Tsione ty viloñe, mipalira, ko mihenekeneke, fa minday hekoheko boak’ avaratse añe iraho, naho fandrotsahañe jabajaba.
Set vp the standart in Zion: prepare to flee, and stay not: for I will bring a plague from the North, and a great destruction.
7 Fa niakatse an-drongoñe ao ty liona, fa nionjoñe i mpandrotsake fifeheañey, fa niavotse an-toe’e ao hampangoakoake ty tane’o, ho harakarake avao o rova’oo, tsy ho amam-pimoneñe.
The lyon is come vp from his denne, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is departed, and gone forth of his place to lay thy land waste, and thy cities shalbe destroyed without an inhabitant.
8 Ie amy zay, misikina gony, miroveta, vaho mangololoiha: Fa mboe tsy nivike aman-tika ty haviñera’Iehovà.
Wherefore girde you with sackecloth: lament, and howle, for the fierce wrath of the Lord is not turned backe from vs.
9 Amy andro zay, hoe t’Iehovà, te hilesa ty fahavania’ i mpanjakay naho o roandriañeo; ho latsa o mpisoroñeo vaho ho veren-draha o mpitokio.
And in that day, saith the Lord, the heart of the King shall perish, and the heart of the princes and the Priestes shall be astonished, and the Prophets shall wonder.
10 Aa le hoe iraho, Ry Talè, Iehovà, akore te nifañahie’o ondaty retoa naho Ierosalaime, amy ty hoe: Hanintsiñe nahareo, ie fa totofem-pibara ty fiaiñe!
Then saide I, Ah, Lord God, surely thou hast deceiued this people and Ierusalem, saying, Ye shall haue peace, and the sworde perceth vnto the heart.
11 Ie amy zay ho taroñeñe am’ondaty retoa naho am’ Ierosalaime ty hoe: Ho hirik’ ankaboa’ i liolio am-patrambeiy ty tioke mihoboboke mb’amo anak’ ampela’ ondatikoo, tsy t’ie hanonga ndra hañororoke—
At that time shall it bee saide to this people and to Ierusalem, A dry winde in the hie places of the wildernes commeth towarde ye daughter of my people, but neither to fanne nor to clense.
12 tioke lombolombo izay ty homb’eo boak’ amako; fa hivolañako zaka henaneo.
A mightie winde shall come vnto me from those places, and nowe will I also giue sentence vpon them.
13 Heheke! Mionjoñe hoe rahon-dre, o sarete’eo hoe tangololahy; masika ta ty vantio o soavala’eo— feh’ohatse tika! fa mianto!
Beholde, he shall come vp as the cloudes, and his charets shalbe as a tempest: his horses are lighter then eagles. Woe vnto vs, for wee are destroyed.
14 Ry Ierosalaime, sasao añ’arofo’o ao o haloloañeo soa te ho rombaheñe, pak’ombia te mbe himoneñe ama’o ao o fikililia’o ratio?
O Ierusalem, wash thine heart from wickednes, that thou maiest be saued: how long shall thy wicked thoughtes remaine within thee?
15 Inao, mikoike boak’e Dane añe ty fiarañanañañe; vaho mitsey hankàñe ty boak’ am-bohi’ Efraime añe.
For a voyce declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.
16 Talilio o fifeheañeo, henaneo! ikoiho am’Ierosalaime; hirike tsietoitane añe o mpañarikatokeo hipoña-peo amo rova’ Iehodào.
Make ye mention of the heathen, and publish in Ierusalem, Beholde, the skoutes come from a farre countrey, and crie out against the cities of Iudah.
17 Fa niarikoboña’ iareo manahake o mpivoñon-tondao, amy t’ie niola amako, hoe t’Iehovà.
They haue compassed her about as the watchmen of the fielde, because it hath prouoked me to wrath, saith the Lord.
18 O sata’oo naho o fitoloña’oo ty naneseañe o raha zao; hankàñe ama’o; akore ty hafai’e! kanao mahatakatse ty arofo’o.
Thy wayes and thine inuentions haue procured thee these things, such is thy wickednesse: therefore it shall be bitter, therefore it shall perce vnto thine heart.
19 Ty añ’ovako, ty añ’ovako! ty haloviloviako! Hete! Ty troko! Ty troko! Midebodebo amako ao; izaho tsy mahafitsiñe; amy te ihe, fiaiko, ty nahatsanoñe i fipopòn’ antsivay, i kaik’ aliy.
My bely, my bely, I am pained, euen at the very heart: mine heart is troubled within me: I cannot be still: for my soule hath heard the sounde of the trumpet, and the alarme of the battell.
20 Vinonje’ ty hekoheko ty hankàñe, fonga nimongoreñe i taney; rotsake ami’ty manao zao o kibohokoo, ami’ty tsi-maemae-laletse o rindrin-kivohokoo.
Destruction vpon destruction is cryed, for the whole lande is wasted: suddenly are my tents destroyed, and my curtaines in a moment.
21 Ampara’ te ombia ty mbe hahatreavako i viloñey, ty hahatsanoñako ty feo i antsivay?
Howe long shall I see the standert, and heare the sounde of the trumpet?
22 Toe dereñe ondatikoo, tsy mahafohiñe ahy; ajaja minè, tsy mahilala. Kante an-katsivokarañe, ie tsy mahay manao soa.
For my people is foolish, they haue not knowen me: they are foolish children, and haue none vnderstanding: they are wise to doe euill, but to doe well they haue no knowledge.
23 Nenteako ty tane toy t'ie nihoake tsy amam-bintañe, vaho mb’ andikeramb’eo fe nipo-kazavàñe ty ey.
I haue looked vpon the earth, and loe, it was without forme and voide: and to the heauens, and they had no light.
24 Nenteako o vohitseo le nizoeko te niezeñezeñe, vaho fonga nivembèñe o haboañeo.
I behelde the mountaines: and loe, they trembled and all the hilles shooke.
25 Nenteako le hehe t’ie tsy ama’ ondaty, leo raike, vaho hene niborofotse o voron-tiokeo.
I behelde, and loe, there was no man, and all the birdes of the heauen were departed.
26 Nenteako, le ingo te paimpaiñe i tane ni-kobokaray, fonga narotsake añatrefa’ Iehovà o rovao, aolo’ ty haviñera’e miforoforo.
I behelde, and loe, the fruitfull place was a wildernesse, and all the cities thereof were broken downe at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce wrath.
27 Fa hoe t’Iehovà: Ho koake iaby i taney fe tsy ho fonga mongoreko.
For thus hath the Lord saide, The whole lande shall be desolate: yet will I not make a full ende.
28 Handala’ ty tane toy, naho haieñe o likerañe eñeo; ty amo volakoo; naereñereko, le tsy hiheve, vaho tsy hibalihako.
Therefore shall the earth mourne, and the heauens aboue shall be darkened, because I haue pronounced it: I haue thought it, and will not repent, neither will I turne backe from it.
29 Songa mivoratsake ty lay o rovao ami’ty fikoraha’ o mpiningi- tsoavalao naho o mpitàm-paleo, iziliha’ iareo ty matahetse; anganiha’ iareo o vatovatoeñeo; nengañe hoake iaby o rovao, leo ondaty raike tsy mimoneñe ao.
The whole citie shall flee, for the noyse of the horsemen and bowemen: they shall goe into thickets, and clime vp vpon the rockes: euery citie shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.
30 Le ihe tinavañey, Ino ty atao’o kanao misiki-mena mañabasà, naho miravake bange volamena, vaho ampiboenare’o loko o maso’oo? Tsy vente ty ihamina’o vatañe, songa malaiñe azo o sipa’oo, toe hañè-doza ama’o.
And when thou shalt be destroyed, what wilt thou doe? Though thou clothest thy selfe with skarlet, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of golde, though thou paintest thy face with colours, yet shalt thou trimme thy selfe in vaine: for thy louers will abhorre thee and seeke thy life.
31 Fa nahatsanoñe hoe fikoiahan’ ampela mitsongo iraho, ty fanaintaiña’ i misamake i tañoloñolo’eiy, ty fikoiaha’ ty ana’ i Tsione misehaseha, mañiti-tañampolo manao ty hoe: Hankàñe amako! Mitoirañe añatrefa’ o mpamonoo ty fiaiko!
For I haue heard a noyse as of a woman trauailing, or as one labouring of her first child, euen the voyce of the daughter Zion that sigheth and stretcheth out her handes: woe is me nowe: for my soule fainteth because of the murtherers.
