< Jeremia 29 >

1 Intoy ty enta’ i taratasy nampihitrife’ Iirmeà mpitoky boak’ Ierosalaime mb’amo sehangan-droandriañe an-drohy añe naho amo mpisoroñeo naho am’ondaty iaby nasese’ i Nebokadnetsare mpanjaka’ i Bavele mb’am-pandrohizañe añe boak’ Ierosalaime ao mb’e Bavele añeo,
Now these are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem to the residue of the elders of the captivity, and to the priests, to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon,
2 ie fa nienga’ Ierosalaime t’Iekonia mpanjaka naho i rene-mpanjakay naho o mpifelekeo, naho o roandria’ Iehodà naho Ierosalaimeo naho o mpandranjio vaho o mpanefeo,
(after Jeconiah the king, the queen mother, the eunuchs, the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, the craftsmen, and the smiths had departed from Jerusalem),
3 am-pità’ i Elasà, ana’ i Safane ana’ i Gemarià, ana’ i Kelkià nirahe’ i Tsidkia mpanjaka’ Iehodà mb’ amy Nebokadnetsare mpanjaka’ i Bavele, nanao ty hoe:
by the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan and Gemariah the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent to Babylon to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon). It said:
4 Hoe t’Iehovà’ i Màroy, t’i Andrianañahare’ Israele, amo mpirohy iabio, o nampaneseko an-drohy boak’ Ierosalaime mb’e Bavele mb’eoo:
The LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says to all the captives whom I have caused to be carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon:
5 Andranjio anjomba le imoneño, amboleo an-koboñe ao vaho ikamao ty voka’e;
“Build houses and dwell in them. Plant gardens and eat their fruit.
6 mañengà valy naho misamaha ana-dahy naho anak’ampela; androroto enga-vao o ana-dahi’ areoo le atoloro amo mpañengao ty anak’ ampela’ areo, hisamaha’ iareo ana-dahy naho anak’ ampela; vaho manaranaha añe fa ko miketrake.
Take wives and father sons and daughters. Take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters. Multiply there, and don’t be diminished.
7 Ampanintsiño i rova nampaneseko anahareo an-drohiy vaho mihalalia am’ Iehovà ho aze; amy te i fierañeraña’ey ty hierañeraña’ areo.
Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the LORD for it; for in its peace you will have peace.”
8 Fa hoe t’Iehovà’ i Màroy, i Andrianañahare’ Israeley; Ko apo’ areo hamañahy anahareo o mpitoky naho mpañandro añivo’ areoo, vaho ko haoñe’ areo o nofy nampañanofiseñe iareoo.
For the LORD of Armies, the God of Israel says: “Don’t let your prophets who are amongst you and your diviners deceive you. Don’t listen to your dreams which you cause to be dreamt.
9 Ie mitoky vìlañe ama’ areo ami’ ty añarako; fa tsy niraheko, hoe t’Iehovà.
For they prophesy falsely to you in my name. I have not sent them,” says the LORD.
10 Aa hoe t’Iehovà: Ie heneke ty fitompolo taoñe e Bavele ao, le ho tiliheko naho hanoeko i hasoa nivolañeko ama’ areoy, t’ie hampoliko an-toetse atoy.
For the LORD says, “After seventy years are accomplished for Babylon, I will visit you and perform my good word towards you, in causing you to return to this place.
11 Toe apotako ty fisafiriako ho anahareo, hoe t’Iehovà, fisafiriam-pierañerañañe fa tsy hankàñe, hanolorako fitamàn-tsoa naho fisalalàñe.
For I know the thoughts that I think towards you,” says the LORD, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.
12 Hikanjy ahy nahareo, le hombeo iraho; hihalalia’areo, vaho ho tsanoñeko.
You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
13 Hipay ahy le ho rendre’ areo naho mitsoek’ an-kaampon’ arofo.
You shall seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.
14 Ho oni’ areo iraho, hoe t’Iehovà, naho hafoteko ty fandrohizañe anahareo, naho hatontoko boak’ amo hene tane naho hirik’ amo toetse iaby nandroahako anahareoo, hoe t’Iehovà; le hampoliko mb’amy toetse nampaneseko anahareo mb’am-pandrohizañey.
I will be found by you,” says the LORD, “and I will turn again your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places where I have driven you,” says the LORD. “I will bring you again to the place from where I caused you to be carried away captive.”
15 Ami’ty natao’ areo ty hoe: Fa nampitroara’ Iehovà mpitoky e Bavele ao tika.
Because you have said, “The LORD has raised us up prophets in Babylon,”
16 Aa hoe t’Iehovà ty amy mpanjaka miambesatse am-piambesa’ i Davidey naho ty am’ondaty iaby mpimoneñe an-drova atoio, o rolongo’ areo tsy nindre nienga ama’ areo mb’ am-pandrohizañ’ añeo,
the LORD says concerning the king who sits on David’s throne, and concerning all the people who dwell in this city, your brothers who haven’t gone with you into captivity,
17 hoe t’Iehovà’ i Màroy: Inao te hampañitrifeko am’ iereo ty fibara, ty hasalikoañe, naho ty angorosy, vaho hampanahafeko ami’ty sakoa mangeñe tsy mete haneñe ty amy haratia’ey;
the LORD of Armies says: “Behold, I will send on them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like rotten figs that can’t be eaten, they are so bad.
18 naho horidañeko am-pibara naho saliko naho kiria naho hampandronje-ronjèko mb’amy ze kila fifehea’ ty tane toy ho fatse naho halatsañe, ho fikosihañe, vaho fañinjeañe amo fifelehañe iaby niroaheko iareoo;
I will pursue after them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will deliver them to be tossed back and forth amongst all the kingdoms of the earth, to be an object of horror, an astonishment, a hissing, and a reproach amongst all the nations where I have driven them,
19 amy t’ie tsy nanaoñ’ o volakoo, hoe t’Iehovà, ie nañitrifako o mpitoky mpitorokoo, nañaleñaleñe te namantoke, f’ie tsy nimete nijanjiñe, hoe t’Iehovà.
because they have not listened to my words,” says the LORD, “with which I sent to them my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but you would not hear,” says the LORD.
20 Aa le mijanjiña ty tsara’ Iehovà ry am-pandrohizañe añe iaby nampaneseko boak’ Ierosalaime mb’e Bavele mb’eoo.
Hear therefore the LORD’s word, all you captives whom I have sent away from Jerusalem to Babylon.
21 Hoe t’Iehovà’ i Màroy, t’i Andrianañahare’ Israele, ty amy Akabe ana’ i Kolaià, naho i Tsidkià ana’ i Maaseià, i mitoky vande ama’ areo aman’ añarako rey: Inao t’ie haseseko am-pità’ i Nebokadnetsare mpanjaka’ i Bavele; vaho ho vonoe’e añatrefam-pihaino’ areo;
The LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says concerning Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, who prophesy a lie to you in my name: “Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and he will kill them before your eyes.
22 le ho toñone’ ze hene mpirohi’ Iehodà e Bavele ao ty fatse ami’ty hoe: Hanoe’ Iehovà hambañe amy nanoa’e amy Akabe naho amy Tsidkià, i nampiforototoe’ ty mpanjaka’ i Bavele añ’afo ao rey;
A curse will be taken up about them by all the captives of Judah who are in Babylon, saying, ‘The LORD make you like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;’
23 amy t’ie nitoloñe haloloañe e Israele ao, naho nanao hakarapiloañe amo tañanjomban-drañe’eo naho nisaontsy vìlañe ami’ty añarako, f’ie tsy nandiliako; toe maharendreke iraho naho mahatalily, hoe t’Iehovà.
because they have done foolish things in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours’ wives, and have spoken words in my name falsely, which I didn’t command them. I am he who knows, and am witness,” says the LORD.
24 Le ty amy Semaià nte-Nekelamý, isaontsio ty hoe,
Concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite you shall speak, saying,
25 Hoe ty nafè’ Iehovà’ i Màroy, i Andrianañahare’ Israeley: Amy te ihe nanokitse taratasy ami’ty añara’o amy ze hene’ ondaty e Ierosalaime ao naho amy Tsefanià ana’ i Maaseià mpisoroñe, vaho amo mpisoroñe iabio, nanao ty hoe:
“The LORD of Armies, the God of Israel, says, ‘Because you have sent letters in your own name to all the people who are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah, the priest, and to all the priests, saying,
26 Fa nanoe’ Iehovà mpisoroñe irehe hisolo’ Iehoiada mpisoroñe, soa te ho amam-pisary ty añ’ anjomba’ Iehovà ty amy ze dagola mitoky, hampijoñe aze am-balabey naho an-dongòk’ ao.
“The LORD has made you priest in the place of Jehoiada the priest, that there may be officers in the LORD’s house, for every man who is crazy and makes himself a prophet, that you should put him in the stocks and in shackles.
27 Aa vaho akore te tsy nendaha’o t’Iirmeà nte-Anatote, ie manao ho mpitoky ama’ areo,
Now therefore, why have you not rebuked Jeremiah of Anathoth, who makes himself a prophet to you,
28 naho nampañitrife’e ama’ay e Bavele atoy ty hoe: Mbe ho ela ty fandrohizañe; mandranjia anjomba, le imoneño; le mambolea an-godoboñe ao vaho kamao ty voka’e?
because he has sent to us in Babylon, saying, The captivity is long. Build houses, and dwell in them. Plant gardens, and eat their fruit?”’”
29 Le vinaki’ i Tsefanià mpisoroñe an-dravembia’ Iirmeà mpitoky i taratasy zay.
Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the hearing of Jeremiah the prophet.
30 Niheo am’ Iirmeà amy zao ty tsara’ Iehovà nanao ty hoe:
Then the LORD’s word came to Jeremiah, saying,
31 Ampisangitrifo amo hene am-pandrohizañeo ty hoe: Hoe t’Iehovà ty amy Semaià nte Nekelamý: Amy te nitoky ama’ areo t’i Semaià, f’ie tsy niraheko, vaho nampiantofa’e anahareo ty haremborake,
“Send to all of the captives, saying, ‘The LORD says concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: “Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you, and I didn’t send him, and he has caused you to trust in a lie,”
32 le hoe t’Iehovà: Inao! ho liloveko t’i Semaià nte Nekelamý naho o tiri’eo; ie tsy hanañe ty hitrao-pimoneñe am’ ondaty retoa, vaho tsy ho isa’e ty soa hanoeko am’ ondatikoo, hoe t’Iehovà; ty amo fiolañe tinaro’e am’ Iehovào.
therefore the LORD says, “Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his offspring. He will not have a man to dwell amongst this people. He won’t see the good that I will do to my people,” says the LORD, “because he has spoken rebellion against the LORD.”’”
