1 Iakobe, fetrek’oron’ Añahare naho i Talè Iesoà Norizañey, Ho amo foko folo ro’amby miparaitake an-tsese-tane añeo: Talilio areo.
James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
2 Ee t’ie hatao ho hafaleañe pea, ry longo naho mizo fitsohañe ankafankafa,
My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations;
3 fohiñe te minday fahaliñisañe ty fitsohañe o fatokisa’ areoo.
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience.
4 Le apoho ho heneke i fahaliñisañey, soa t’ie ho vañoñe naho fonitse tsy hipay ndra inoñ’ inoñe.
But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
5 Aa naho ama’ areo ty mipay hilala, soa re te hihalaly aman’ Añahare, fa hene atarìha’e tsy aman-tìñe, vaho hitolorañe.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and upbraids not; and it shall be given him.
6 Ie mihalaly, le am-patokisañe tsy mifejofejo, fa am-panahafeñe ami’ty onjan-driak’ asiotsion-tioke, mivalitaboake mb’etia mb’eroa, ty mitroetroe am-patokisañe,
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 Ee te tsy hitamà handrambe ndra inoñ’inoñe amy Talè indatiy.
For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 Maletroletro amy ze fonga sata’e ty milolohe vatavo roe.
A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
9 Ehe te hirenge ami’ty halohà’e ty longo trentrañe;
Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10 le amy fañivañ’ azey i mpañalealey, ie himosaoñe manahake o voñen’ ahetseo.
But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 Ie manjirik’ an-katrovòha’e reketse tio-mae i àndroy, le miheatse o ahetseo, mihintsañe o voñe’eo vaho mikò-mavo ty hasoa-vinta’e. Hoe izay ty hiforejejea’ ty mpañaleale amo fitoloña’eo.
For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it wither the grass, and the flower thereof falls, and the grace of the fashion of it perishes: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.
12 Haha t’indaty mahafeake fitsohañe, fa ie ventèñe ro handrambe i sabakan-kaveloñe nampitamà’ i Talè o mpikoko azeoy.
Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to them that love him.
13 Aa ie zizieñe t’indaty, ee te tsy hanoe’e ty hoe: Azizin’ Añahare iraho. Amy te tsy mete zizien-draty t’i Andrianañahare vaho tsy zizie’e t’ondaty;
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempts he any man:
14 f’ie songa zizieñe te kozozote’ o drao raty manigìk’ azeo.
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
15 Ie miareñe i hasiji’ey le mitoly hakeo; ie añoñ’ay i tahiñey le mampikoromake.
Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.
16 Mitaoa tsy ho fitaheñe ry longo sarotse.
Do not err, my beloved brothers.
17 Boak’ ambone añe iaby ze raha soa natolotse naho ze falalàñe, mizotso hirik’ aman-dRaen-kazavàñe; ie tsy mihotike, tsy an-kaieñe te mihodiñe.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no ficklenss, neither shadow of turning.
18 An-satri’e ty nampiareña’e an-tika ami’ty tsara to, ho karazan-doha-voa amo namboare’eo.
Of his own will fathered he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
19 Aa le soa ry longoko sarotseo te songa havitrik’ am-pitsendreñañe naho malea an-tsaontsy vaho malaoñe an-kaviñerañe,
Why, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
20 amy te tsy mitoloñe ami’ty havantañan’ Añahare ty haboseha’ ondaty.
For the wrath of man works not the righteousness of God.
21 Apoho iaby arè ze haleorañe naho haratiañe ila’e, vaho rambeso an-trentram-po i tsara tinongy maharombake ty fiai’ areoy.
Why lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 Toloño i tsaray, le ko mijanjiñe avao hamañahy vatañe.
But be you doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 Naho mpijanjin-tsara t’indaty, fa tsy mitoloñe, le ampanahafeñe amy t’indaty mihetsoro laharañe.
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like to a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
24 Ie mahaisa-batañe naho mienga, ro mañaliño i vintañe nioni’e anianiy.
For he beholds himself, and goes his way, and straightway forgets what manner of man he was.
25 Fe ze mibiribiry i Hake famotsorañe hiringiri’ey, naho mañambeñe aze, tsy manao fijanjiñam-bei-areke, fa mpifanehak’ amy fitoloñañey, ro tahieñe amo sata’eo.
But whoever looks into the perfect law of liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
26 Naho eo ty mieva ho mpitalaho, fa tsy vahora’e i famele’ey le mamañahy troke, vaho kafoake o fitalahoa’eo.
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.
27 Zao ty fitalahoañe hiringiri’e tsy aman-kila añatrefan’ Añahare Rae: le ty fitilihañe bode-rae naho vantotse amo fisotria’eo, vaho ty fifoneñañe tsy ho pepoe’ ty voatse toy.
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
