< Hosea 5 >
1 Inao, ry mpisoroñeo, mitsendreña ry anjomba’ Israeleo, manokilaña ravembia ry anjomba’ i mpanjakay, fa ama’ areo i zakay; amy t’ie fandrik’ amy Mitspà naho harato nalafike ho amy Tabore;
Hear this, O ye priests, and hearken, O house of Israel, and give ear, O house of the king, for to you pertains the judgment. For ye have been a snare at Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
2 vaho mpiola miheotse t’ie mandenta ndra te nendahako.
And the revolters have gone deep in making slaughter, but I am a rebuker of them all.
3 Fàntako t’i Efraime naho tsy mietak’ amako t’Israele; fa manao hakarapiloan-drehe Efraime, vaho maleotse t’Israele.
I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me. For now, O Ephraim, thou have played the harlot; Israel is defiled.
4 Tsy ho safirie’ iareo ty himpoly aman’Añahare’ iareo; fa añivo’ iareo ao ty fañahin-kakarapiloañe, vaho tsy fohi’ iereo t’Iehovà.
Their doings will not allow them to turn to their God, for the spirit of whoredom is within them, and they do not know Jehovah.
5 Mitalily an-dahara’e ty fiebotsebora’ Israele; toly ndra hitsikapy an-kakèo t’Israele naho i Efraime; hiharo hihotrak’ am’ iereo ka t’Iehodà.
And the pride of Israel testifies to his face. Therefore Israel and Ephraim shall stumble in their iniquity. Judah also shall stumble with them.
6 Hendese’ iereo ty lia-rai’ iareo naho o mpirai-tro’ iareoo ho paia’ iereo t’Iehovà, fe tsy ho oniñe, fa nisitake.
They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Jehovah, but they shall not find him. He has withdrawn himself from them.
7 Fa niola am’ Iehovà iereo, naho nahatoly anak’amontoñe; aa le habotse’ ty pea-bolañe reke-panañañe.
They have dealt treacherously against Jehovah, for they have borne strange sons. Now the new moon shall devour them with their fields.
8 Tiofo e Gibà i antsivay naho e Ramà i soliy; koiho e Bet’avene ty hankàñe: mitoliha ry Beniamine.
Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah. Sound an alarm at Beth-aven, behind thee, O Benjamin.
9 Ho koaheñe t’i Efraime amy andro fandilovañey; fa nampahafohineko o fifokoa’ Israeleo ze toe hifetsake.
Ephraim shall become a desolation in the day of rebuke. I have made known that which shall surely be among the tribes of Israel.
10 Manahake ty mpameve vorovoro o roandria’ Iehodào; hadoandoako am’ iereo hoe rano ty habosehako.
The rulers of Judah are like those who remove the landmark. I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
11 Forekekèñe t’i Efraime demok’ an-jaka; ie nañorike haloloañe an-tsatri’e.
Ephraim is oppressed. He is crushed in judgment, because he was content to walk after man's command.
12 Aa le ho bararaok’ amy Efraime iraho, naho haloloañe amy anjomba’ Iehodày.
Therefore I am to Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
13 Ie nahaoniñe i arete’ey t’i Efraime, naho i fere’ey t’Iehodà, le nihitrike mb’ Asorey mb’eo, naho nisangitrife’e i mpanjaka Iaribey; f’ie tsy hahajangañ’ azo, vaho tsy ho melañe’e i fere’oy.
When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria, and sent to king Jareb. But he is not able to heal you, nor will he cure you of your wound.
14 Ho liona amy Efraime iraho, naho liona tora’e amy anjomba’ Iehodày; Izaho le Izaho avao ty handrimitse vaho hienga; hinday iraho le ia ty haharombake.
For I will be to Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah. I, even I, will tear and go away, I will carry off, and there shall be none to deliver.
15 Homb’eo iraho himpoly mb’añ’akibako añe, ampara’ t’ie miantoke o hakeo’eo, naho mipay ty tareheko; ie am-poheke ro hitsoek’ahy.
I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me earnestly.
