< Hosea 4 >

1 Janjiño ty tsara’Iehovà: ry ana’ Israeleo; amy te atreatré’ Iehovà o mpimoneñe an-tane atoio. Fa tsy aman-katò, tsy mitretrè, tsy mahafohiñe an’ Andrianañahare ty an-tane ao.
Hear the word of the LORD, you children of Israel; for the LORD has a charge against the inhabitants of the land: "Indeed there is no truth, nor goodness, nor knowledge of God in the land.
2 Te mone fàtse, naho lañitse, naho hohodan-doza, naho kametse, vaho hakarapiloañe ty itoloña’ iareo, le mifanoitoy ami’ty lio ty lio.
There is cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and committing adultery; they break boundaries, and bloodshed causes bloodshed.
3 Aa le handala ty tane, naho fonga hinìke ze mpimoneñe ao, naho o bibin-kivokeo naho o voron-dikerañeo; vaho hasese añe ka o fian-driakeo.
Therefore the land mourns, and all those who dwell in it will waste away, along with the animals of the field and the crawling creatures of the earth and the birds of the sky, and even the fish of the sea will be taken away.
4 Asoao tsy ho liereñe tsy ho endakendaheñe, fa manahake ty mpifandietse ami’ty mpisoroñe ondatikoo.
"Yet let no man bring a charge, neither let any man accuse; For your people are like those who bring charges against a priest.
5 Aa le hikorovoke antoandro irehe, le hindre hihotrak’ ama’o ty mpitoky naho haleñe, vaho havetrako ty rene’o.
You will stumble in the day, and the prophet will also stumble with you in the night; and I will destroy your mother.
6 Rotsake ondatikoo fa po-hilala, aa kanao narinjèñe’o ty hihitse le hariako amo fisoroñañeo irehe; kanao nandikofa’o o Tsaran’Añahare’oo, le ho haliñoko ka o ana’oo.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you, that you may be no priest to me. Because you have forgotten your God's law, I will also forget your children.
7 Ie nampitoaboreñe iereo àntsake t’ie nandilatse amako; aa le hafoteko ho fisalarañe ty asi’ iareo.
As they were multiplied, so they sinned against me. They have exchanged their glory into shame.
8 Fihinana’ iareo o engan-kakeo’ ondatikoo, vontitire’ iereo an-tro’e ao o tahi’ iareoo.
They feed on the sin of my people, and set their heart on their iniquity.
9 Le zao ty ho ie te hiray ami’ty ondaty ty mpisoroñe; sindre ho liloveko ty amo sata’eo, vaho hondroheko ty amo fitoloña’eo.
It will be, like people, like priest; and I will punish them for their ways, and will repay them for their deeds.
10 Hikama iereo fe tsy ho anjañe; hanao hakarapiloañe fe tsy hitombo, amy te napo’ iereo ty hañaoñe am’ Iehovà
They will eat, and not have enough. They will play the prostitute, and will not increase; because they have abandoned giving to the LORD.
11 Mitavañe arofo ty hakarapiloañe, naho ty divay, vaho i divay vaoy.
Prostitution, wine, and new wine take away understanding.
12 Mihalaly hevetse am-poto-katae’eo ondatikoo, vaho manoiñe ty kobai’ iareo; fa nampandilatse iareo ty fañahin-kakarapiloañe, vaho nifarie’iereo t’i Andrianañahare’iareo.
My people consult with their wooden idol, and answer to a stick of wood. Indeed the spirit of prostitution has led them astray, and they have been unfaithful to their God.
13 Mañenga soroñe am-bohitse ey iereo naho mañembok’ an-kaboañe ey, ambane’ o kileo naho o talìo, vaho o mendoraveñeo, o mañaloke soao; aa le handrato o anak’ ampela’ areoo, vaho hanao hakarapiloañe o ana-drahavavem-bali’ areoo.
They sacrifice on the tops of the mountains, and burn incense on the hills, under oaks and poplars and shady terebinths, because its shade is good. Therefore your daughters play the prostitute, and your brides commit adultery.
14 Tsy ho tiliheko o anak’ampela’ areoo t’ie manao hakarapiloañe, naho o ana-drahavavem-bali’ areoo, t’ie mandranto fa mitrao-pañenga amo tsimirirañeo iereo, vaho miharo soroñe amo kalalijakeo; toe hihotrake ondaty tsy aman-kilalao.
I will not punish your daughters when they play the prostitute, nor your brides when they commit adultery; because the men consort with prostitutes, and they sacrifice with the shrine prostitutes; so the people without understanding will come to ruin.
15 Aa ndra te manao hakarapiloan-drehe Israele, ko ampandilare’o t’Iehodà; ko migodañe mb’e Gilgale, naho ko mionjomb’e Bet’avène mb’eo, vaho ko mifanta ty hoe Kanao veloñe t’Iehovà.
"Though you, Israel, play the prostitute, yet do not let Judah offend; and do not come to Gilgal, neither go up to Beth Aven, nor swear, 'As the LORD lives.'
16 Fa midisa-voly manahake ty fidisa-volin-kiloa t’Israele; aa vaho ho fahana’ Iehovà hoe añondri-lahy midada iereo?
For Israel has behaved extremely stubbornly, like a stubborn heifer. Then how will the LORD feed them like a lamb in a meadow.
17 Kanao mitolon-tsamposampo t’i Efraime; adono ey.
Ephraim, joined to idols, has placed stumbling blocks against himself.
18 Fa maseñe ty divai’ iareo; ie mitoloñe hakarapiloañe avao; tea’ o mpifehe’oo ty haloloañe te ami’ty engeñe.
Their drink has become sour. They play the prostitute continually. Her rulers dearly love their shameful way.
19 Fa kinolopo’ i tiokey añ’ela’e ao iereo le ho salatse ty amo fisoroña’ iareoo
The wind has wrapped her up in its wings; and they shall be disappointed because of their sacrifices.
