1 Tamy taom-paha-roe’ i Dariavese mpanjakay, amy volam-paha-eneñey, amy valoha’ i volañey, le niheo amy Zerobabele ana’ i Sealtiele mpifehe’ Iehodà naho am’ Iehosoa ana’ Iehotsadake mpisorombey ty tsara’ Iehovà añamy Kagày mpitokiy, nanao ty ti-hoe:
In the second year of king Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, came the word of the Lord through means of Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealthiel, the governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,
2 Hoe ty nafè’ Iehovà’ i Màroy, Manao ty hoe ondaty retoañe, Mboe tsy tondroke i àndroy, ty andro hamboareñe ty anjomba’ Iehovà.
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, saying, This people have said, The time is not yet come, the time for the Lord's house to be built.
3 Niheo eo amy zao añamy Kagày mpitokiy ty tsara’ Iehovà nanao ty hoe:
And the word of the Lord came by means of Haggai the prophet, saying,
4 Sam-piagaregaña’ areo amo akiba’ areo soa tinemetseo hao henaneo, ie mangoakoake ty anjomba toy?
Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your ceiled houses, while this house lieth in ruins?
5 Aa le hoe ty nafè’ Iehovà’ i màroy, Itsakoreo o sata’ areoo:
Now therefore, thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Direct your heart unto your ways.
6 Bey ty tinongi’ areo fa kede ty nivokareñe; mikama fe tsy ànjañe; minoñe fe tsy etsake; misikiñe fe tsy mafana; vaho mandrambe tambe an-koroñe loadoake ty mpitoroñe.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but it doth not satisfy hunger; ye drink, but it doth not appease thirst; ye clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he that earneth something earneth it for a bag with holes.
7 Hoe ty nafè’ Iehovà’ i Màroy, Vetsevetseo o sata’ areoo.
Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, Direct your heart to your ways.
8 Mionjona mb’amy vohitsey mb’eo naho añandeso hatae le amboaro i anjombay hahafale ahy, hahazoako engeñe, hoe t’Iehovà.
Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house: that I may take pleasure in it, and be glorified, saith the Lord.
9 Mipay maro nahareo fe tsy ampeampe ty oniñe; ie endese’ areo moly le tiofeko añe. Akore arè? hoe t’Iehovà’ i Màroy: Toe napoke ho kòake i kivohokoy, ie songa milay mb’añ’akiba’e mb’eo.
[Till now] ye looked for much, and lo, it came to be little; and when ye brought it home, I blew upon it. For what cause? saith the Lord of hosts. Because of my house that lieth in ruins, while ye run every man unto his own house.
10 Toe ie ty añajà’ i likerañey zono, naho itambozora’ i taney havokarañe.
Therefore do the heavens for your sake withhold the dew, and the earth withholdeth her products.
11 Nitokavako hasalikoañe ty tane toy naho o vohitseo naho o vare-boleo naho o divaio naho o menakeo naho o famokara’ ty tane toio, naho ondatio naho o hareo vaho ze fonga fitoloñam-pitàñe.
And I called for a drought over the land, and over the mountains, and over the corn, and over the new wine, and over the oil, and over what the ground bringeth forth, and over men, and over cattle, and over all the labor of the hands.
12 Aa le jinanji’ i Zerobabele, ana’ i Sealtiele, naho Iehosoa, ana’ Iehotsadake, mpisorom-bey, naho ze sehanga’ ondaty iaby ty fiarañanaña’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ iareo naho o tsara naboa’ i Kagày mpitoky, namantoha’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ iareoo, vaho nañeveñe am’ Iehovà ondatio.
Then hearkened Zerubbabel the son of Shealthiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, unto the voice of the Lord their God, and to the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him, and the people were afraid of the Lord.
13 Le nitaroñe’ i Kagày ira’ Iehovà am’ ondatio ty nafe’ Iehovà: Ama’ areo iraho, hoe t’Iehovà.
Then said Haggai the messenger of the Lord by the Lord's message unto the people saying, I am with you, saith the Lord.
14 Nitroboe’ Iehovà amy zao ty arofo’ i Zerobabele, ana’ i Sealtiele, mpifele’ Iehodà naho ty arofo’ Iehosoa, ana’ Iehotsadake, mpisorom-bey naho o tro’ ondaty sehanga’e iabio, Vaho niheo mb’eo nitoloñe amy anjomba’ Iehovà’ i Màroy, Andrianañahare’ iareoy,
And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealthiel, the governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, and they came and did work on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God.

On the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of king Darius.
