1 Tamy taom-paha-roe’ i Dariavese mpanjakay, amy volam-paha-eneñey, amy valoha’ i volañey, le niheo amy Zerobabele ana’ i Sealtiele mpifehe’ Iehodà naho am’ Iehosoa ana’ Iehotsadake mpisorombey ty tsara’ Iehovà añamy Kagày mpitokiy, nanao ty ti-hoe:
In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, a word of YHWH has been by the hand of Haggai the prophet, to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
2 Hoe ty nafè’ Iehovà’ i Màroy, Manao ty hoe ondaty retoañe, Mboe tsy tondroke i àndroy, ty andro hamboareñe ty anjomba’ Iehovà.
“Thus spoke YHWH of Hosts, saying, This people—they have said, The time has not come, The time the house of YHWH [is] to be built.”
3 Niheo eo amy zao añamy Kagày mpitokiy ty tsara’ Iehovà nanao ty hoe:
And there is a word of YHWH by the hand of Haggai the prophet, saying,
4 Sam-piagaregaña’ areo amo akiba’ areo soa tinemetseo hao henaneo, ie mangoakoake ty anjomba toy?
“Is it time for you to dwell in your covered houses, And this house to lie waste?”
5 Aa le hoe ty nafè’ Iehovà’ i màroy, Itsakoreo o sata’ areoo:
And now, thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Set your heart to your ways.
6 Bey ty tinongi’ areo fa kede ty nivokareñe; mikama fe tsy ànjañe; minoñe fe tsy etsake; misikiñe fe tsy mafana; vaho mandrambe tambe an-koroñe loadoake ty mpitoroñe.
You have sown much, and brought in little, To eat, and not to satiety, To drink, and not to drunkenness, To clothe, and none has heat, And he who is hiring himself out, Is hiring himself for a bag pierced through.”
7 Hoe ty nafè’ Iehovà’ i Màroy, Vetsevetseo o sata’ areoo.
Thus said YHWH of Hosts: “Set your heart to your ways.
8 Mionjona mb’amy vohitsey mb’eo naho añandeso hatae le amboaro i anjombay hahafale ahy, hahazoako engeñe, hoe t’Iehovà.
Go up the mountain, and you have brought in wood, And build the house, and I am pleased with it. And I am honored,” said YHWH.
9 Mipay maro nahareo fe tsy ampeampe ty oniñe; ie endese’ areo moly le tiofeko añe. Akore arè? hoe t’Iehovà’ i Màroy: Toe napoke ho kòake i kivohokoy, ie songa milay mb’añ’akiba’e mb’eo.
“Looking for much, and behold, little, And you brought [it] home, and I blew on it—why?” A declaration of YHWH of Hosts, “Because of My house that is desolate, And you are running—each to his house,
10 Toe ie ty añajà’ i likerañey zono, naho itambozora’ i taney havokarañe.
Therefore, over you the heavens have refrained from dew, And the land has refrained its increase.
11 Nitokavako hasalikoañe ty tane toy naho o vohitseo naho o vare-boleo naho o divaio naho o menakeo naho o famokara’ ty tane toio, naho ondatio naho o hareo vaho ze fonga fitoloñam-pitàñe.
And I proclaim drought on the land, And on the mountains, and on the grain, And on the new wine, and on the oil, And on what the ground brings forth, And on man, and on beast, And on all labor of the hands.”
12 Aa le jinanji’ i Zerobabele, ana’ i Sealtiele, naho Iehosoa, ana’ Iehotsadake, mpisorom-bey, naho ze sehanga’ ondaty iaby ty fiarañanaña’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ iareo naho o tsara naboa’ i Kagày mpitoky, namantoha’ Iehovà Andrianañahare’ iareoo, vaho nañeveñe am’ Iehovà ondatio.
And Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Joshua son of Josedech, the high priest, and all the remnant of the people, listen to the voice of their God YHWH, and to the words of Haggai the prophet, as their God YHWH had sent him, and the people are afraid of the face of YHWH.
13 Le nitaroñe’ i Kagày ira’ Iehovà am’ ondatio ty nafe’ Iehovà: Ama’ areo iraho, hoe t’Iehovà.
And Haggai, messenger of YHWH, in messages of YHWH, speaks to the people, saying, “I [am] with you, a declaration of YHWH.”
14 Nitroboe’ Iehovà amy zao ty arofo’ i Zerobabele, ana’ i Sealtiele, mpifele’ Iehodà naho ty arofo’ Iehosoa, ana’ Iehotsadake, mpisorom-bey naho o tro’ ondaty sehanga’e iabio, Vaho niheo mb’eo nitoloñe amy anjomba’ Iehovà’ i Màroy, Andrianañahare’ iareoy,
And YHWH stirs up the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people, and they come in, and work in the house of YHWH of Hosts their God,

in the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
