Then Iaakob lift vp his feete and came into the East countrey.
2 Tinalake’e te heheke ty vovoñe an-kivoke ey aman’ añondry telo troke mandre marine aze, amy te fampinomañe o mpirai-liao i vovoñey; le vato jabajaba ty nikapeke i vovoñey.
And as he looked about, behold there was a well in the field, and lo, three flocks of sheepe lay thereby (for at that well were the flockes watered) and there was a great stone vpon the welles mouth.
3 Ie hene vory o mpirai-liao le adariso’ o mpiarakeo i vato fikape’ i vovoñeiy, vaho ampinomeñe o añondrio; heneke izay vaho ampolie’ iareo am-bava’ i vovoñey i vatoy.
And thither were all the flockes gathered, and they rolled the stone from the welles mouth, and watered the sheepe, and put the stone againe vpon the welles mouth in his place.
4 Hoe t’Iakòbe am’iereo, O rahalahikoo, boak’ aia nahareo? Hoe iereo, Hirik’e Kharane añe.
And Iaakob sayde vnto them, My brethren, whence be ye? And they answered, We are of Haran.
5 Hoe re tam’ iereo, Fohi’ areo hao t’i Labàne ana’ i Nakore? Hoe iereo, Eka apota’ay.
Then he sayd vnto them, Know ye Laban the sonne of Nahor? Who said, We know him.
6 Hoe re tam’iereo, Jangam-bao? Janga, hoe iereo, le ingo t’i Rahkele, anak’ ampela’e minday o añondrio.
Againe he sayd vnto them, Is he in good health? And they answered, He is in good health, and beholde, his daughter Rahel commeth with the sheepe.
7 Hoe re, Hehe, mbe tsingilingilieñe ty àndro, tsy fanontoñañe añondry hey henaneo. Ampinomo o añondrio vaho akia andrazo.
Then he sayd, Lo, it is yet hie day, neither is it time that the cattell shoulde be gathered together: water ye the sheepe and go feede them.
8 Fa hoe ka iereo, Tsy mete zahay naho tsy fa vory iaby o mpirai-liao naho avarimbari’ iareo boak’ am-bava’ o vovoñeo o vatoo; izay vaho ampinome’ay o añondrio.
But they sayde, We may not vntill all the flocks be brought together, and till men rolle the stone from the welles mouth, that we may water the sheepe.
9 Ie mbe nifanaontsy, pok’ eo t’i Rahkele ninday o añondrin-drae’eo, amy t’ie mpiarake.
While he talked with them, Rahel also came with her fathers sheepe, for she kept them.
10 Ie nahaoniñe i Rahkele, ana’ i Labàne renelahi’e, naho o añondri’ i Labàne renelahi’eo t’Iakòbe le niharinea’e naho navari’e boak’ am-bava’ i vovoñey i vatoy vaho nampinome’e i lia-rai’ i Labàne renelahi’eoy.
And assoone as Iaakob saw Rahel ye daughter of Laban his mothers brother, and the sheepe of Laban his mothers brother, then came Iaakob neere, and rolled the stone from the welles mouth, and watered ye flocke of Laban his mothers brother.
11 Le norofa’ Iakòbe t’i Rahkele vaho nipoña-peo an-drovetse,
And Iaakob kissed Rahel, and lift vp his voyce and wept.
12 naho nitoñone’ Iakòbe amy Rahkele t’ie longon-drae’e naho ana’ i Ribkae; le nilay re hitalily aman-drae’e.
(For Iaakob tolde Rahel, that he was her fathers brother, and that he was Rebekahs sonne) then she ranne and tolde her father.
13 Ie jinanji’ i Labàne ty talili’ Iakòbe ana-drahavave’e, le nihitrihitry hifañaoñe ama’e; finorokoko’e naho norofa’e vaho nendese’e mb’ añ’ anjomba’e ao vaho hene natalili’e amy Labàne i nifetsake rezay,
And when Laban heard tell of Iaakob his sisters sonne, he ranne to meete him, and embraced him and kissed him, and brought him to his house: and he tolde Laban all these things.
14 le hoe t’i Labàne ama’e, Toe taolako naho nofoko irehe! Aa le niambesara’e volañe raike.
To whome Laban sayd, Well, thou art my bone and my flesh. and he abode with him the space of a moneth.
15 Le hoe t’i Labàne am’ Iakòbe, Aa ndra t’ie longoko, hifanehake ho ahy tsy aman-tambe hao? Volaño arè, ino ty ho tambe’o.
For Laban sayde vnto Iaakob, Though thou be my brother, shouldest thou therfore serue me for nought? tell me, what shalbe thy wages?
16 Ie amy zao, roe ty anak’ ampela’ i Labàne; Leae ty añara’ ty zoke’e naho i Rahkele ty añaran-jai’e.
Now Laban had two daughters, the elder called Leah, and the yonger called Rahel.
17 Naleme ty maso’ i Leae, le nimontramontra naho soa vintañe t’i Rahkele.
And Leah was tender eyed, but Rahel was beautifull and faire.
18 Nikokoa’ Iakòbe t’i Rahkele, le hoe re, Ho toroñeko fito taon-drehe ho a i Rahkele, anak’ ampela’o zai’e.
And Iaakob loued Rahel, and sayde, I will serue thee seuen yeeres for Rahel thy yonger daughter.
19 Hoe t’i Labàne, Hamake hatoloko azo ta te hatoloko amy ze ondaty ila’e; mimoneña amako.
Then Laban answered, It is better that I giue her thee, then that I should giue her to another man: abide with me.
20 Aa le nitoroñe fito taoñe t’Iakòbe hahazoa’e i Rahkele, le nihoe andro tsy ampe-ampe am-pihaino’eo ty amy fikokoa’e azey.
And Iaakob serued seuen yeres for Rahel, and they seemed vnto him but a few dayes, because he loued her.
21 Le hoe t’Iakòbe amy Labàne, Atoloro ahy i valikoy hiharoako fa heneke o androkoo.
Then Iaakob sayde to Laban, Giue me my wife, that I may goe in to her: for my terme is ended.
22 Aa le natonto’ i Labàne ze hene ondati’ i tanañey vaho nañalankañe takataka.
Wherefore Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and made a feast.
23 Ie hariva i àndroy le nasese’ i Labàne am’Iakòbe t’i Leae vaho niolore’e.
But whe the euening was come, he tooke Leah his daughter and brought her to him, and he went in vnto her.
24 Le natolo’ i Labàne amy Leae ty mpitoro-ampela’e Zilpae ho mpiatrak’ aze.
And Laban gaue his mayde Zilpah to his daughter Leah, to be her seruant.
25 Aa ie nanjirike ty hamaray, hehe te i Leae! le hoe t’Iakòbe amy Labàne: Ino o nanoe’o amakoo? Tsy i Rahkele hao ty nitoroñako azo? Akore arè ty namitaha’o ahy?
But when the morning was come, behold, it was Leah. Then sayde he to Laban, Wherefore hast thou done thus to mee? did not I serue thee for Rahel? wherfore then hast thou beguiled me?
26 Hoe t’i Labàne, Tsy sata an-tane atoy ty anolorañe ty zai’e aolo’ ty tañoloñoloñan-ampela’e.
And Laban answered, It is not the maner of this place, to giue the yonger before the elder.
27 Foniro i hafitoa’ey, le hatolo’ay azo ka i raikey, ho ami’ty fito taoñe tovo’e hitoroña’o ahy.
Fulfill seuen yeeres for her, and we wil also giue thee this for the seruice, which thou shalt serue me yet seuen yeeres more.
28 Aa le nanoe’ Iakòbe. Nihenefe’e i hereñandroy, vaho natolo’e aze ty anak’ampela’e Rahkele ho vali’e.
Then Iaakob did so, and fulfilled her seuen yeeres, so he gaue him Rahel his daughter to be his wife.
29 Natolo’ i Labàne amy Rahkele ana’e t’i Bilhae mpiatra’ey ho mpiatrak’ aze.
Laban also gaue to Rahel his daughter Bilhah his mayde to be her seruant.
30 Niolotse amy Rahkele ka t’Iakòbe le ie ty nikokoa’e te amy Leae, vaho nitoroñe i Labàne fito taoñe indraike.
So entred he in to Rahel also, and loued also Rahel more then Leah, and serued him yet seuen yeeres more.
31 Ie nivazoho’ Iehovà te tsy nikokoañe t’i Leae, le sinoka’e ty trañon’ ana’e, fe betsiterake t’i Rahkele.
When the Lord saw that Leah was despised, he made her fruitful: but Rahel was barren.
32 Niareñe t’i Leae vaho nahatoly ana-dahy. Natao’e Reòbene ty añara’e fa hoe ty asa’e, amy te nivazoho’ Iehovà ty haferenaiñako. Aa le hikoko ahy ty valiko henanekeo.
And Leah conceiued and bare a sonne, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Because the Lord hath looked vpon my tribulation, now therefore mine husband will loue me.
33 Niareñe indraike re nisamak’ ana-dahy, vaho hoe re, Jinanji’ Iehovà t’ie firihia’e le nomei’e itoañe ka, le natao’e Simòne ty añara’e.
And she conceiued againe and bare a sonne, and sayde, Because the Lord heard that I was hated, he hath therefore giuen me this sonne also, and she called his name Simeon.
34 Mbe niareñe indraike re, nahatoly ana-dahy, le hoe ty asa’e, Sandrake henane zao te hipiteham-baliko, izaho nisamake telo ho aze. Aa le natao’e Levy ty añara’e.
And she conceiued againe and bare a sonne, and said, Now at this time wil my husband keepe mee company, because I haue borne him three sonnes: therefore was his name called Leui.
35 Mbe niareñe indraike re, le nisamak’ ana-dahy vaho nanao ty hoe, Handrenge Iehovà Iraho henane zao. Le natao’e Iehodà ty añara’e vaho nitampets’ anake.
Moreouer shee conceiued againe and bare a sonne, saying, Nowe will I prayse the Lord: therefore shee called his name Iudah, and left bearing.
