< Efesiana 4 >
1 Aa le ihalaliako, izaho mpirohi’ i Talè, t’ie hañavelo mañeva i koike nikanjiañe anahareoy,
I summon you then, I the prisoner in the Lord, to live lives worthy of the calling to which you were called.
2 nainai’e mireke an-trentram-po naho mifampiheve am-pikokoañe,
With all humility and gentleness and long-suffering forbear with one another in love;
3 ie ilozoha’ areo tambozotse ty fitraofan-kina’ i Arofoy, mifampipiteke am-pilongoañe.
and endeavor to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bonds of peace.
4 Raike i fañòvay, naho raike i Arofoy—manahake t’ie kinoike ho amam-pitamàñe raike te nikanjieñe:
There is one body and one spirit, even as also you were called in one hope of your calling.
5 Talè raike, fatokisañe raike, filiporañe raike,
There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 naho Andrianañahare raike, Rae’ iabikey, lohà’ ze he’e, kila añama’e, vaho hene ama’e.
one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.
7 F’ie songa nitoloreñ’ arofo ami’ty nanokantsokaña’ i Norizañey falalàñe.
And to each one of us was grace given according to the measure of the munificence of Christ.
8 Izay ty nipatera’e ty hoe: Ie nionjoñe mb’añ’abo añe, kinozozò’e an-drohy i fandrohizañey vaho tinolo’e falalàñe ondatio.
Thus it is said, When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive and gave gifts to men.
9 Aa kanao nionjon-dre, ino i tsaraeñey naho tsy t’ie nizotso hey mb’ an-tsikeokeo’ ty tane toy ao?
Now surely this "he ascended" implies that he also descended into the lower part of the earth.
10 I nizotsoy, le i nionjoñe andindi’ ze hene likerañe, hañenefa’e ze he’ey.
He who descended is he who ascended above the highest heaven, that he might fill the universe.
11 Natolo’e ho Firàheñe ty ila’e naho mpitoky ty ila’e naho venje ty ila’e vaho mpiarake naho mpañoke ty ila’e,
It is he who made some men apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
12 hañoke o noro’eo hitoloñe am-pitoroñañe, handranjy ty fañòva’ i Norizañey
in order to equip the saints for the work of serving, for the building up of the Body of Christ -
13 ampara’ t’ie hene maha-pitrao-kina am-patokisañe, haharendreke i Anan’ Añaharey, hitombo ho añoñ’ay, amy havañonañe nihenefa’ i Norizañeiy;
till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to the maturity of manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.
14 ie amy zao tsy ho anak’ ajaja ka, havoamboa’ ty onja, naho hasiotsio’ ze fonga tiom-pañohañe, ami’ty famañahia’ ondaty kante an-kalìtake naho kilily,
So we shall no longer be children, tossed up and down, and blown about by every wind of teaching, tricked by the craft of men in the snares of misleading error;
15 fe am-pitaroñañe ty hatò am-pikokoañe, ty hitomboan-tika ami’ty halifora’e amy Loha’ey ao, toe i Norizañey.
but holding the truth in love we shall grow up in every part into him who is our Head, even Christ.
16 Ie ty andrafetañe i fañòvay iaby hifampikatoke, naho hifandreketa’ ze hene fange’e amy fifanozaña’ey, songa mañeneke i fitoroña’ey, hampitomboa’e naho hampiraoraoa’e am-pikokoañe i fañòvay.
From him the whole body (knit together and compacted by all its joints) makes continual growth of the body so as to build itself up in love, through the energy of his bounteous provision, according to the need of each several part.
17 Aa le hoe iraho, eka afanto’ay naho i Talè, ama’areo te tsy hañavelo ami’ty fañaveloa’ o kilakila ondatio ka, ami’ty hakoaham-pivetsevetse’ iareoo,
This then I tell you and implore you in the Master’s name, to pass your lives no longer as the Gentiles do in the perverseness of their minds;
18 fa maieñe ty fahafohina’ iareo, tsy mpiami’ ty havelon’ Añahare ty amy habahimoañe an-tro’ iereo ao, ami’ty hagañ’ arofo’ iareo;
having their understanding darkened, alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their hearts.
19 ie fa dridra an-troke, nijoroboñe an-kadrao-lo, hitoloñe ze fonga hameñarañe vaho fatiti-mena.
These being past feeling have given themselves over to sensuality, in order to practise every form of impurity with greedy zest.
20 Tsy izay ty nioha’ areo amy Norizañey,
But you have not so learned Christ,
21 ie toe jinanji’ areo naho nandrèndreke ama’e, ty amy hatò am’ Iesoà ao,
if indeed you have listened to him, and in him been taught the truth as it is in Jesus.
22 le o satan-kavelo’ areo taoloo, korendaho i haondaty hambo’e mihamomoke ty amo drao’e mamañahio,
You have learned to lay aside, with your former manner of living, the old self who was on his way to ruin, as he followed the desires which deceive;
23 le mivaoa am-pitsakorean-troke ao,
and to be made new in the spirit of your mind,
24 vaho atsetaho indaty nivaoeñey, tsinene hambam-bintañe aman’ Añahare an-kavantañañe naho an-katò miavake.
and to put on the new self, created after God’s likeness, in the uprightness and holiness of the truth.
25 Aa le apitsoho ty fandañirañe, songa mifanaontsia an-kahiti’e, fa mpifampipiteke tika.
So then put away falseness and speak every man the truth to his neighbor, for we are members one of another.
26 Miboseha fe ko mandilatse, asoao tsy ho tra ty motak’ andro ty haviñera’ areo,
"Be angry and sin not"; let not the sun go down upon your anger.
27 tsy mone hañomey lalañe i mpañìnjey.
Give the devil no place.
28 Asoao tsy hampikametse ka i mpikizoy, fe hitromake am-pità’e amy ze mahasoa, hanaña’e ty hazòtso ami’ty mipay.
Let him who stole steal no more, but let him work, and in honest industry toil with his hands, so that he may have something to give to the needy.
29 Ehe te tsy hakarem-palie’ areo ze entañe tsy vente’e fa ze hampiraorao o ila’eo ami’ty fañeva’e, hañasoa o mpijanjiñeo.
From your lips let no evil words come forth, but such as occasion warrants, such as are good for upbuilding and give a blessing to the hearers.
30 Ko ampanaheloe’ areo i Arofo Masin’ Añaharey, i namoli-fitomboke anahareo ho amy andro fijebañañeiy.
And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you have been sealed for the day of redemption.
31 Apitsoho ama’ areo ty afero, ty fombo, ty haviñerañe, ty fihorentseñañe naho ty fanambaitambaiñañe vaho ty halo-tserehañe,
Banish from among you all bitterness and passion and anger and clamor and slander, as well as all malice;
32 fe mifampiferenaiña naho mifampilendèña an-troke vaho mifampihevea manahake ty nañahan’ Añahare anahareo amy Norizañey.
and be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ has forgiven you.
