< Mpitoriteny 11 >

1 Ahifiho ambone’ o ranoo ty mofo’o, le ho tendrek’azo andro maro añe.
Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.
2 Zarao fito o vara’oo, he valo, fa tsy fohi’o ze hankàñe mete hifetsak’ an-tane atoy.
Give a portion to seven, yea, even unto eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.
3 Ie milodolodo o rahoñeo, le adoa’e mb’an-tane atoy ty orañe; aa ke mihorokodoboke mañatimo ty hatae, he mañavaratse, le amy ideboña’ey ty handrea’e.
If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if a tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there shall it be.
4 Tsy hitongy ty mpisamba tioke; vaho tsy hanatake ty mpijilo rahoñe.
He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.
5 Kanao tsy apota’o ty lala’ i tiokey, naho tsy fohi’o ty fitiria’ o taolañe an-kovi’ i mivesatsey, le tsy fohi’o ka ty fitoloñan’ Añahare mpamboatse ze he’e.
As thou knowest not what is the way of the wind, [nor] how the bones [do grow] in the womb of her that is with child; even so thou knowest not the work of God who doeth all.
6 Tongiso maraindray o tabiri’oo, vaho ko mampi-po pitàñe te hariva; amy te tsy fohi’o ty ho lefe, ke ty etoañe ke i eroañey, hera ho soa iaby iereo roroe.
In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.
7 Mamy o hazavàñeo, naho mahafale fihaino ty mahaoniñe i àndroy.
Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun.
8 Aa ndra te veloñe maro-taoñe t’indaty ee te hirebeha’e iaby, le ho tiahi’e abey o andron-kamoromoroñañeo, t’ie ho maro, toe hakoahañ’ iaby ty ho avy.
Yea, if a man live many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity.
9 Mandià taroba ry ajalahy, ihe mbe tora’e, ee te hampahaehak’ azo ty tro’o amo andron-katora’oo. Oriho ty fisalalam-po’o naho ty fañiria’ o maso’oo, fe mahafohina t’ie hampiatrefen’ Añahare an-jaka ty amy hene rezay.
Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.
10 Ano soike o halorèan-tro’oo, vaho ampihankaño ami’ty sandri’o ty falovilovia’e; fa toe mihelañe ty hatorañe naho ty haañom-piaiñe.
Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for youth and the prime of life are vanity.
