< Daniela 8 >

1 Ie amy taom-paha-telo’ i Belsatsare mpanjakay le nahatrea aroñaroñe nanonjohy i nitreako teoy, izaho Daniele.
In the third year of the reign of king Baltasar a vision appeared to me, [even] to me Daniel, after that which appeared to me at the first.
2 Añ’ aroñaroko ao, le nitreako t’ie an-kijoli’ i Sosane, am-paritane’ i Elame añe; tendrek’ amy aroñaroñey te añ’olo’ i saka Olaiý.
And I was in Susa the palace, which is in the land of Aelam, and I was on the [bank of] Ubal.
3 Nampiandraeko maso vaho nitreako te ingo ty añondrilahy nijohañe marine i sakay ey, roe ty tsifa’e, le ndra t’ie niabo, nilikoatse ty haabo’ ty raike, i tsitso’ey ty niabo t’ie nitiry.
And I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, a ram standing in front of the Ubal; and he had high horns; and one was higher than the other, and the high one came up last.
4 Nitreako i añondrilahiy te namango nañandrefañe o tsifa’eo, naho nañavaratse, naho nañatimo vaho tsy eo ty biby nahafiatreatre aze, vaho tsy eo ty nahafitsoak’ an-taña’e; fa nanoe’e ze nisatri’e le nitoabotoabotse.
And I saw the ram butting westward, and northward, and southward; and no beast could stand before him, and there was none that could deliver out of his hand; and he did according to his will, and became great.
5 Aa ie nitsakore iraho te ingo boak’ ahandrefañe añe ty oselahy nihelañe ambone’ ty tarehe’ ty tane-bey toy naho tsy nioza tane; nanan-tsifa raike ra’elahy añivo’ o maso’eo i oselahiy.
And I was considering, and, behold, a he-goat came from the southwest on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the earth: and the goat [had] a horn between his eyes.
6 Nimb’ amy añondrilahy aman-tsifa’e roe nitreako nijohañe aolo’ i sakay eiy re, vaho nihoridaña’e an-kaozarañe miforoforo.
And he came to the ram that had the horns, which I had seen standing in front of the Ubal, and he ran at him with the violence of his strength.
7 Nitreako te nitotohe’e i añondrilahiy le niviñera’e naho nidasiñe’e vaho nipozahe’e i tsifa’e roe rey, le tsy nahalefe hitroatse añatrefa’e i añondrilahiy; aa le nafetsa’e an-tane vaho linialia’e, le tsy eo ty naharombak’ i añondrilahiy an-taña’e.
And I saw him coming up close to the ram, and he was furiously enraged against him, and he struck the ram, and broke both his horns: and there was no strength in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him on the ground, and trampled on him; and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
8 Nitoabotoabotse amy zao i oselahiy, le ie an-dengo’ ty haozara’e ro pinozake i tsifa’e ra’elahiy; niboake nandimbe aze an-toe’e eo ty tsifa efatse niatreke i tiok’ efa’ i likerañey rey.
And the he-goat grew exceedingly great: and when he was strong, his great horn was broken; and four other [horns] rose up in its place towards the four winds of heaven.
9 Nipotìtse ama’e ty tsifa kedekedeke; nitombo ho bey mañatimo naho maniñanañe vaho mb’ an-tane mahasinday.
And out of one of them came forth one strong horn, and it grew very great towards the south, and towards the host:
10 Nitoabotse mb’ amy valobohòn-dahin-defon-dikerañey re naho navokovoko’e mb’an-tane atoy ty ila’ i màroy naho o vasiañeo, vaho linialia’e ambane.
and it magnified itself to the host of heaven; and there fell to the earth [some] of the host of heaven and of the stars, and they trampled on them.
11 Eka, nizonjoñe nahatakatse ty handigiligi’ i mpifehe’ i valobohòkey, kanao tinava’e ama’e i fisoroñañe boak’ àndroy vaho naretsa’e ambane i toe’e miavakey.
And [this shall be] until the chief captain shall have delivered the captivity: and by reason of him the sacrifice was disturbed, and he prospered; and the holy place shall be made desolate.
12 Fiolàñe ty nanolorañe aze i valobohòkey naho i sorom-boak’ àndroy. Nafetsa’e ambane ty havañonañe naho nanoe’e ze nisatri’e vaho niraorao.
And a sin-offering was given for the sacrifice, and righteousness was cast down to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
13 Le tsinanoko te nitsara t’i Masiñe. Hoe ka ty Masiñe raike amy nitsaray, Ampara’ te ombia o aroñaroñeñeo: i sorom-boak’ àndroy, i fiolàñe mandrotsakey, ty hanolorañe i toetse miavakey naho i valobohòke ho lialiàm-pandiay?
And I heard one saint speaking, and a saint said to a certain one speaking, How long shall the vision continue, [even] the removal of the sacrifice, and the bringing in of the sin of desolation; and [how long] shall the sanctuary and host be trampled?
14 Le hoe re tamako, Ampara’ te modo ty hariva naho ty maraindray ro-arivo-tsi-telon-jato, izay vaho heferañe i toetse miavakey.
And he said to him, Evening and morning [there shall be] two thousand and four hundred days; and [then] the sanctuary shall be cleansed.
15 Ie fa niaroñaron-draho, Daniele naho nimaneako rendreke, le nizoeko nijohañe aoloko eo ty amam-binta’ ondaty.
And it came to pass, as I, [even] I Daniel, saw the vision, and sought to understand it, that, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
16 Tsinanoko t’indaty añivo’ i Olay nikoike ty hoe: Ry Gabriele, ampandrendreho ondaty toañe i aroñaroñey.
And I heard the voice of a man between [the banks of] the Ubal; and he called, and said, Gabriel, cause that man to understand the vision.
17 Nitotoke mb’amy fijohañako mb’ eo re, le ie niharine, niriatsandry iraho nibabok’ an-tareheko. Aa hoe re tamako, O ana’ ondatio, maharendreha te an-tsa honka’e i aroñaroñey.
And he came and stood near where I stood: and when he came, I was struck with awe, and fell upon my face: but he said to me, Understand, son of man: for yet the vision is for an appointed time.
18 Ie nisaontsie’e le nilañake ty roro an-tane an-tareheko le nedrè’e vaho nampitroare’e.
And while he spoke with me, I fell upon my face to the earth: and he touched me, and set me on my feet.
19 Hoe re, Ho taroñeko ama’o ty hifetsak’ amo andro honkan-katorifihañeo; ie toe ho amy sa honka’ey.
And he said, Behold, I make you know the things that shall come to pass at the end of the wrath: for the vision [is] yet for an appointed time.
20 I añondrilahy nioni’o aman-tsifa’e roey le ty mpanjaka’ i Madaý naho i Parase.
The ram which you saw that had the horns is the king of the Medes and Persians.
21 I dromatsey le ty mpanjaka’ Iavàne; ty tsifa’e ra’elahy añivo’ o maso’eo ty mpanjaka’e valoha’e.
The he-goat is the King of the Greeks: and the great horn which was between his eyes, he is the first king.
22 Aa ie nipozake, le niongake handimbe aze ty efatse, avaho fifelehañe efatse ka ty hitroatse boak’ amy fifeheañey, fe tsy amy haozara’ey.
And [as for] the one that was broken, in whose place there stood up four horns, four kings shall arise out of his nation, but not in their [own] strength.
23 Amo andro sengaha’ i fifeheañeio, ie fa heneke o fiolao, le hampitroa-batañe ty mpanjaka an-daharam-pisenge-hery, mahafohiñe onin-tsaontsy miheotse.
And at the latter time of their kingdom, when their sins are coming to the full, there shall arise a king bold in countenance, and understanding riddles.
24 Hampaozareñe i lili’ey, fe tsy amy haozara’ey; le hahalàtsa ty fandrotsaha’e; hiraorao re, naho hanao ze satri’e, vaho ho rotsahe’e o maozatseo naho ondaty miavakeo.
And his power [shall be] great, and he shall destroy wonderfully, and prosper, and practise, and shall destroy mighty men, and the holy people.
25 Amy fahilala’ey le hiraorao ty famañahiañe am-pità’e ao, naho hirengevok’ an-tro’e ao naho am-pilongoañe ty handrotsaha’e ty maro; hitroatse amy Talè’ o taleoy ka re, fe hianto tsy am-pitàñe.
And the yoke of his chain shall prosper: [there is] craft in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by craft shall destroy many, and he shall stand up for the destruction of many, and shall crush them as eggs in his hand.
26 Ie i aroñaron-kariva naho maraiñey, le to i nitaroñeñe ama’oy; aa le liteo i aroñaroñey fa mbe ho amo andro maro añeo.
And the vision of the evening and morning that was mentioned is true: and do you seal the vision; for [it is] for many days.
27 Nitoiran-draho Daniele naho nisilok’ andro maromaro, vaho nitroatse nitoroñe i mpanjakay. Nampañeveñe ahy i aroñaroñey, fe tsy eo ty hampalange aze.
And I Daniel fell asleep, and was sick: then I arose, and did the king's business; and I wondered at the vision, and there was none that understood [it].
