Asan'ny Apostoly 7
1 Hoe i talèm-pisoroñey: To v’zao?
And the high priest said, Are these things so?
2 Hoe t’i Stefana: Ry longo, naho ry aba, Inao! Ie mbe te Mesopotamia añe taolo’ te nimoneñe e Haraña t’i Abraàme raen-tikañe le niheo ama’e t’i Andrianañahare Rengèñey,
And he said, Men! Brothers and fathers, listen. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran.
3 le nanoa’e ty hoe: Misitaha an-tane’o naho an-drolongo’o, mimoaha an-tane hatoroko azo.
And he said to him, Go forth out of thy land, and from thy kinfolk, and come into a land that I will show thee.
4 Aa le niakats’ i tane Kaldea añe re nivotrake e Harane. Ie añe, naho fa vilasy ty rae’e, le nampiavote’e homb’an-tane fimoneña’ areo atoy henaneo.
Then after coming out of the land of the Chaldeans, he dwelt in Haran. And from there, after his father died, God resettled him in this land in which ye now dwell.
5 Fe tsy nimea’e lova ama’e, ndra ty tane handiam-pandia’e, ie mbetsiterake, le nampitama’e te hatolots’aze naho amo tarira’e hanonjohy azeo ho fanañañe izay.
And he gave him no inheritance in it, not even a footstep. And he promised to give it to him for a possession, and to his seed after him, although there was no child by him.
6 Hoe ty nitsaran’ Añahare, t’ie: Ho renetane an-tanen’ ambahiny o tarira’eo, naho hondevozeñe, vaho ho volevolèñe efa-jato taoñe.
And God spoke thus: His seed would be alien in a foreign land, and they would enslave and mistreat them four hundred years.
7 Fe ho zakaeko ze tane mañondevo iareo, hoe t’i Andrianañahare, ie añe, le hiavotse iereo, hitoroñe ahy ami’ty toetse toy.
And I will judge the nation to whomever they will be in bondage, God said, and after these things they will come forth and serve me in this place.
8 Le natolo’e aze ty fañinam-pisavarañe naho nisamake Isaka re le nisavare’e ami’ty andro fahavalo, naho nisamake Iakobe t’Isaka vaho i androanavy folo ro’amby rey t’Iakobe.
And he gave him the covenant of circumcision. And so he begot Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day. And Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob the twelve patriarchs.
9 Ie nikirañe Iosefe i androanavy rey, le naleta’ iereo ho ondevo Egipte añe. Fe tama’e t’i Andrianañahare
And the patriarchs, being envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. And God was with him,
10 nandrombak’ aze amy ze fonga haoreañe naho tinolo’e hihitse naho fañisohañe añatrefa’ i Farao mpanjaka’ i Egipte le nanoe’e mpamandroñe hifehe i Egipte vaho o añ’ anjomba’e iabio.
and delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And he appointed him governor over Egypt and his entire house.
11 Nandramban-tane Egipte naho Kanana amy zao ty san-kasalikoañe vaho ty hasotriam-bey le tsy nahaoniñe mahakama o roaentikañeo.
Now a famine came on all Egypt and Canaan, and great affliction, and our fathers found no sustenance.
12 Ie jinanji’ Iakobe te aman-tsako ty Egipte, le nampihitrife’e mb’eo o roaentikañeo amy valoha’ey.
But when Jacob heard of grain being in Egypt, he sent forth our fathers the first time.
13 Ie amy faha roey le nampahafohim-batañ’ amo rahalahi’eo t’Iosefe vaho nampandrendreheñe i Farao o longo’ Iosefeo.
And during the second time Joseph was made known to his brothers, and Joseph's race became manifest to Pharaoh.
14 Aa le nampisangitrife’ Iosefe t’Iakobe rae’e naho o longo’eo, i fitom-polo-lime amby rey.
And Joseph having sent forth, he summoned Jacob his father. And all his kinfolk, in souls, were seventy-five.
15 Le nañavelo mb’e Egipte mb’eo t’Iakobe vaho nihomake, ie naho o roaentikañeo,
And Jacob went down into Egypt, and he perished, he and our fathers.
16 le nasese mb’e Sekema añe, ie nirohoteñe amy lonake vinili’ i Abraàme drala amo ana’ i Hamora nte Sekemaio.
And they were carried into Shechem, and laid in the sepulcher that Abraham bought for a price of silver from the sons of Hamor of Shechem.
17 Aa naho fa an-titotse ty andro nampitaman’ Añahare i nifantà’e amy Abraàmey, le nitombo naho nangetseketseke Egipte añe ondatio.
But as the time of the promise approached that God swore to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,
18 Loneak’amy zao ty mpanjaka hifehe i Egipte tsy nahafohiñe Iosefe.
until another king arose who had not known Joseph.
19 Ie ty nañaramamo ondatin-tikañeo am-pamañahiañe naho famorekekeañe, naho nampiboake o ajajamena’ iareoo tsy hahatam-beloñe.
This man, who cunningly victimized our race, mistreated our fathers to make their infants be placed outside in order not to keep alive.
20 Toly henane zay t’i Mosè, le nisoa vintañe am-pivazohoan’ Añahare, vaho nitaiàñe telo volañe an-trañon-drae’e ao.
During which time Moses was born (and he was well-formed by God) who was reared three months in his father's house.
21 Aa ie niotañe, rinambe’ ty anak’ ampela’ i Farao naho nibeize’e ho ana’e,
And when he was exposed, Pharaoh's daughter took him away, and reared him for a son to herself.
22 le naòke amy ze hene hilala’ o nte Egipteo t’i Mosè vaho ni-fanalolahy an-tsara naho fitoloñañe.
And Moses was reared in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was mighty in his words and deeds.
23 Ie fa ho efa-polo taoñe t’i Mosè, le niheo añ’arofo’e ty hitilike o longo’e ana’ Israeleo.
But when a forty year time span was fulfilled by him, it came into his heart to go help his brothers, the sons of Israel.
24 Ie nioni’e te nisamporeraheñe tsy aman-tali’e ty raike, le nañolots’ aze, namale fate i niforekekeñey vaho nañoho-doza amy nte-Egiptey.
And after seeing a certain man suffering wrong, he defended him, and did vengeance for the man being oppressed, having smitten the Egyptian.
25 Natao’e ho rendre’o longo’eo ty fandrombahan’ Añahare am-pità’e, f’ie tsy nahafohiñe.
And he presumed his brothers understood that, by his hand, God was giving them salvation, but they did not understand.
26 Ie niloakandro, niheo am’iereo mb’eo re nanjo ty nifandrapak’ aly, le nimanea’e fifampilongoañe ami’ty hoe: O lahireo, mpiroahalahy nahareoo; Akore te mifampijoy?
And on the next day he was seen by them as they fought, and he was reconciling them for peace, having said, Men, ye are brothers. Why is it that ye wrong each other?
27 Fe nanafasiotse aze i namofoke i rañe’eiy, nanao ty hoe: Ia ty nañory azo ho mpifehe naho mpizaka anay?
But the man doing wrong to his neighbor thrust him away, having said, Who appointed thee a ruler and a judge over us?
28 Hamono ahy v’iheo, hambañe amy nanoa’o i nte Egipte omaley?
Do thou not want to kill me, as thou killed the Egyptian yesterday?
29 Ty amy entañe zay, nitriban-day t’i Mosè naho nirenetane e Midiana añe vaho nisamak’ anadahy roe.
And Moses fled at this word, and became an alien in the land of Midian, where he begot two sons.
30 Ie nimodo ty efa-polo taoñe, le nisodehañe ama’e an-dratraratram-bohi-Sinaiy añe ty anjeli’ Iehovà ami’ty lel’afo an-drongoñe.
And forty years having been fulfilled, an agent of the Lord appeared to him in the wilderness of Mount Sinai in a flame of fire of a bush.
31 Ie nioni’ i Mosè zay le hinarahara’e i nizoeñey; le nañarivoa’e hahaisake vaho nivovo ama’e ty fiarañanaña’ Iehovà nanao ty hoe:
And when Moses looked, he wondered at the sight. And as he approached to examine, a voice of the Lord came to him,
32 Izaho o Andrianañaharen-droae’ areoo, t’i Andrianañahare’ i Abraàme, naho Isaka vaho Iakobe. Aa le ninevenevetse t’i Mosè tsy nahavany niisake.
I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. But Moses, who developed trembling, dared not examine.
33 Le hoe t’ Iehovà tama’e: Afaho o hana am-pandia’oo fa masiñe o toetse ijohaña’oo.
And the Lord said to him, Put off the shoes from thy feet, for the place on which thou stand is holy ground.
34 Toe niisako ty falovilovia’ ondatiko e Egipt’aoo, naho tsinanoko ty toreo’ iareo vaho nizotso hañaha iareo. Antao arè, fa hahitriko mb’e Egipte mb’eo irehe.
Having looked, I saw the oppression of my people in Egypt, and I heard their groaning, and I came down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.
35 Fe kiniho’iareo ami’ty hoe t’i Mosè: Ia ty nañory azo ho mpifehe naho mpizaka anay? Ie ty nafanton’ Añahare ampità’ i anjely niboak’ ama’e amy rongoñeiy ho mpifehe naho mpandrombake iareo.
This Moses whom they refused, having said, Who appointed thee a ruler and a judge? This man God sent, a ruler and a liberator by the hand of the agent who appeared to him in the bush.
36 Indatiy ty nampiavotse iareo naho nanao halatsàñe naho viloñe tsi-tantane Egipte ao naho amy Riake Menay vaho am-patrambey ao efa-polo taoñe.
This man brought them forth after performing wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red Sea, and in the wilderness forty years.
37 Ie i Mosè nitaroñe amo nte-Israeleo ty hoe: Hampitroaren’ Añahare ho anahareo ty mpitoky hambañe amako boak’amo longo’ areoo.
This is the Moses who said to the sons of Israel, The Lord our God will raise up a prophet for you, from your brothers, like me.
38 Ie ty nitraok’ amy anjeliy amy fivori-bey am-patram-bey añey, niharo amy anjely nisaontsy ama’e am-bohi-Sinaiy vaho taman-droaentikañe; ie ty nandrambe o fetse veloñe nitaroña’e aman-tikañeo.
This is he who became in the congregation in the wilderness with the agent who spoke to him on the mount Sinai, and of our fathers who received living oracles to give to us.
39 Fe, nizeharen-droaentika naho nasiotsio’ iareo, vaho nitolike mb’Egipte ty arofo’ iareo
To whom our fathers did not want to become obedient, but they thrust away, and turned back in their heart to Egypt,
40 le nanao ty hoe amy Arone: Andranjio ndrañahare hiaolo anay, f’i Mosè nañavotse anay añ’Egipte izay, amoea’ay ty nizò aze!
after saying to Aaron, Make gods for us who will lead us. For this Moses, who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we know not what has happened to him.
41 Nitsene bania iereo henane zay naho nibanabana soroñe amy sarey, vaho nirebek’ amy sata-pità’ iareoy.
And they made a calf in those days, and offered up sacrifice to the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their hands.
42 Aa le niambohoan’ Añahare naho nitolora’e ty hitoroñe i fifamorohotan-dindìñey, ie pinatetse amy bokem-pitokiy: O ry anjomba’ Israeleo, nañenga biby linenta vaho soroñe amako efa-polo taoñe am-patram-bey añe v’inahareo?
But God turned, and gave them over to serve the host of heaven, just as it is written in the book of the prophets, Did ye offer to me slain beasts and sacrifices forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?
43 Te mone nitarazoe’ areo ty kivoho’ i Moloka, naho ty vasia’ i Refane ndrañahare’areoy, o samposampon-draha namboare’ areo ho fitalahoañeo. Aa le haseseko mb’an-kalo’ i Bavele añe nahareo.
And ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, the images that ye made to worship them. And I will deport you beyond Babylon.
44 Taman-droaen-tikañe an-dratraratra añe i kivohom-pitaroñañey, namboareñe do’e amy nisaontsie’e amy Mosèy te hamboare’e hamban-tsata amy niisa’ey.
The tabernacle of the testimony was with our fathers in the wilderness, just as he arranged (he who spoke to Moses), to make it according to the pattern that he had seen.
45 Le nampizilihe’ o roae’ay nandrambe azeo izay mindre amy Josoa, ie tinava’ iareo amo kilakila’ ndaty nasiotsion’ Añahare aolon-dahara’ iareoo i Taney; ie izay ampara’ i Davide;
Which also our fathers, having received in succession, brought in with Joshua into the possession of the nations whom God drove out from the presence of our fathers, until the days of David
46 ie nanjò fañisohañe añatrefan’ Añahare, le nihalaly ty hahaoniña’e toetse himoneñan’ Añahare’ Iakobe.
who found favor in the sight of God. And he asked to find a habitation for the God of Jacob.
47 Fe i Selomò ty nandranjy anjomba ho aze.
But Solomon built him a house.
48 Toe tsy miambesatse ami’ty nanoem-pitàñe t’i Andindimoneñe, amy tsara’ i mpitokiy:
However the Most High does not dwell in man-made temples, just as the prophet says,
49 Fitobohako i likerañey, fitongoàn-tomboko ty tane toy. anjomba manakore arè ty ho ranjie’ areo ho ahiko? Hoe t’Iehovà. Ke, aia ty toetse hitofàko?
The heaven is to me a throne, and the earth a footstool of my feet. What house will ye build for me? says the Lord. Or what is the place of my rest?
50 Tsy ty tañako hao ty nanao ze he’e zao?
Did not my hand make all these things?
51 Ry gan-katoke tsy sinavatse añ’arofo ndra an-dravembia. Zehare’ areo nainai’e i Arofo Masiñey manahak’ an-droae’ areo avao.
Ye stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers, ye also.
52 Ia amo mpitokio ty tsy nisamporerahen-droae’ areo? Nañohofa’ iareo loza o nitoky ty fitotsaha’ i Vañoñeio, i nafote’ areo naho vinono’ areo anianiy;
Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold about the coming of the Righteous man, of whom ye now have become betrayers and murderers,
53 iereo fa nandrambe i Hake nafè’ o anjelioy, f’ie tsy nambenañe.
who received the law at directions of agents, and did not keep it.
54 Ie jinanji’iereo i hoe zay, le niromotse añ’arofo vaho nampikodrì-nife.
Now when they heard these things, they were split with a saw in their hearts, and they gnashed their teeth against him.
55 Ie ka, lifotse i Arofo Masiñey, niandrandra nitalake i likerañey vaho nahaisake ty engen’ Añahare naho Iesoà nijohañe am-pitàn-kavanan’ Añahare ey.
But being full of the Holy Spirit, having gazed into heaven, he saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
56 Heheke, hoe re, Treako te misokake o likerañeo vaho mijohañe ampitàn-kavanan’ Añahare eo i Ana’ondatiy.
And he said, Look, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.
57 F’ie nipoña-koràke, nanentsen-dravembia vaho fonga nitrao-pañoridañe aze,
But they, having cried out in a great voice, held their ears shut, and rushed upon him with one accord.
58 le naronjeronje’ iareo alafe’ i rovay, naho nametsa-bato ama’e vaho napo’ o valolombeloñeo an-tombo’ ty dogalahy atao Saole eo o sarimbo’ iareoo.
And having expelled him out of the city, they stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments beside the feet of a young man called Saul.
59 Ie nitolom-pametsam-bato amy Stefana, le nikaihe’e ty hoe: Ry Iesoà Talè, rambeso ty troko.
And they stoned Stephen, who was calling and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
60 Ie tafatongaleke, le pinaza’e am-piarañanañañe ty hoe: O Talè, ko tiñea’o am’iareo ty hakeo toy. Ie nanao izay le nirotse.
And having knelt down, he cried out in a great voice, Lord, place not this sin to them. And after saying this, he slept.
