< 3 Jaona 1 >

1 I Zokey, Ho an-drañeko Gaio, ikokoako an-katò.
The elder, to Gaius, the beloved, whom I love in the truth.
2 O rañetse, mitat’azo iraho, lonike t’ie hiraorao naho ho jangañe, mira amo fanintsiñan’ arofo’oo.
Beloved, I pray, that with respect to all things, you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
3 Akore ty hafalean-troko, te niloneak’ atoy o rolongoo nitaroñe ty hatò ama’o ao, ty fañaveloa’o an-katò.
For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came, and bore witness to your truth, even as you walk in truth.
4 Tsy eo ty mahaehak’ ahy mandikoatse zao, t’ie mahatsanoñe te mañavelo an-katò o anakoo.
I have no greater joy than that which I have when I hear my children are walking in truth.
5 O rañetse, migahin-drehe amo hene fañimbà’o an-drolongoo antsak’ amo ambahinio.
Beloved, you do faithfully what you perform for the brethren, and for the strangers.
6 Fa nitalilie’ iareo añatrefa’ i Fivoriy ty fikokoa’o. Aa le mahasoa azo t’ie ampionjone’o mañeva an’Andrianañahare,
These have borne testimony to your love, in the presence of the congregation; whom, if you help forward on their journey, in a manner worthy of God, you will do well.
7 amy te i Tahina’ey ty niavota’ iareo mb’eo tsy nandrambe ndra inoñ’ inoñe amo kilakila ondatio.
Because for his name's sake, they went forth, receiving nothing from the Gentiles.
8 Aa le mete aman-tika ty mañimba ondaty hoe zaio, hitraofan-tika fitoloñe ami’ty hatò.
We, therefore, ought to entertain such, that we may be joint laborers in the truth.
9 Nisokireko i Fivoriy, fe tsy mandrambe ty enta-tika t’i Diotrefa, ie te ho mpiaolo añivo’ iereo.
I wrote to the congregation: but Diotrephes, who affects a pre-eminence among them, does not receive us.
10 Aa naho mb’eo iraho le hampanohineko aze o sata anoe’eo ie manambaitambaiñ’ antika. Mbore tsy mahaeneñe aze, kanao mitoky tsy handrambe o rahalahio, naho sebañe’e o te hanao zaio, toe aitoa’e amy Fivoriy.
For this cause, when I come, I will bring his deeds to remembrance, which he practices--prating against us with malicious words; and, not content with this, he does not himself receive the brethren, and forbids them who would, and casts them out of the congregation.
11 O rañetse, ko mitsikombe ty raty fa ty soa. Boak’ aman’ Añahare ty manao soa; tsy nahaisak’ an’ Andrianañahare ty mpanao raty.
Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good, is of God; but he who does evil, has not seen God.
12 Hene mitalily soa i Demetrio, naho ty hatò, naho onjone’ay amy taro’aiy vaho fohi’o te to ty taro’ay.
Testimony is borne to Demetrius, by all, and by the truth itself; and we also bear testimony; and you know that our testimony is true.
13 Maro ty ho nisokirako, fe tsy teako t’ie an-taratasy ndra rano-mainte te sokireñe.
I have many things to write; but I do not incline to write them to you with pen and ink:
14 Misalala hahatrea azo te aniany, hifañòhahohàn-tika laharañ’ an-daharañe. Hanintsiñe ama’o. Mañontane azo o rañetseo. Añontaneo an-tahinañe o rañetseo.
for I hope immediately to see you, and so we shall speak face to face. Salute the friends by name.
