< 2 Timoty 1 >
1 I Paoly, Firàhe’ Iesoà Norizañey ami’ty satrin’ arofon’ Añahare, amam-pitamàn-kaveloñe am’ Iesoà Norizañey.
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus,
2 Ho a i Timoty, anake kokoako: Hasoa naho tretre vaho ty fañanintsin’ Añahare Rae naho i Talèntika Iesoà Norizañey.
to dear son Timothy: Grace, mercy, peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 Andriañeko t’Andrianañahare italahoako manahak’ an-droaeko an-kazavan-troke, le mahatiahy azo nainai’e iraho am-pilolofako handro an-kaleñe;
I give thanks to God, whom I serve with a clear conscience like my forefathers did, as I constantly remember you in my prayers, night and day,
4 le misalala hahatrea azo amy fitiahiako i ranomaso’oy, hahaliforañ’ ahy an-kaehake,
longing to see you (recalling your tears), that I may be filled with joy;
5 ie tiahiko ty fatokisan-tò an-tro’o ao, ze nimoneñe heike tañova’ i Loizae renebei’o naho amy Eonikae rene’o vaho atokisako te ama’o ka.
while I call to mind the unfeigned faith that is in you—it resided first in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, in you also.
6 Izay ty añosihako azo ty hampibelañe i falalàn’ Añaharey ama’o añamy nanampezan-tañakoy.
For this reason I am reminding you to rekindle the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
7 Toe tsy tinolon’ Añahare troke mimalimalitse tika, fa ty arofon-kaozarañe naho ty fikokoañe, vaho ty filieram-batañe.
Because God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but of power and of love and of self-control.
8 Aa le ko salareñe ty talili’ i Talèntikañey, naho izaho mpirohi’e, fe mitraofa amako ami’ty falovilovia’ i talili-soay amy haozaran’ Añaharey,
So do not be ashamed to identify with our Lord or with me His prisoner, but join in suffering for the Gospel according to the power of God
9 i fa nandrombake antika naho nikanjy antika am-pikanjiañe miavake, tsy ty amo fitoloñan-tikañeo, fa amy satrin’ arofo’ey naho i falalàñe natolotse antika am’ Iesoà Norizañey taolo’ ty fifotora’ o sàoy, (aiōnios )
—the One who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not because of our works but because of His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, (aiōnios )
10 f’ie naboake henane zao ami’ty fitotsaha’ i Mpandrombak’ antika Iesoà Norizañey, i nandrotsake i havilasiiy vaho ninday haveloñe naho tsi-fihomahañe mb’ an-kazavàñe mb’eo amy talili-soay,
but has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who by means of the Gospel destroyed the death and brought life and immortality to light;
11 i nanendreañe ahy ho mpitaroñe naho Firàheñe naho mpañokey.
to this Gospel I was appointed as a proclaimer, an apostle and a teacher of nations.
12 I hoe zay ty isotriako o raha zao; fe tsy salatse, fantako i Fiatoakoy, vaho atokisako t’ie mahafihaja i nampañajako azey ampara’ i àndroy.
That is why I am suffering these things, yet I am not ashamed because I know in whom I have believed and am certain that He is able to guard my deposit until that Day.
13 Tambozoro ami’ty fatokisa’o naho fikokoa’o am’ Iesoà Norizañey ty vente’ o tsara-kanintsiñe tsinano’o tamakoo.
Hold fast the standard of sound teaching that you heard from me, through the faith and love in Christ Jesus.
14 Vontitiro o raha soa natolotse azoo ami’ ty fañimbà’ i Arofo Masiñe mimoneñe añovan-tikañey.
Guard the good deposit by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.
15 Apota’o te fonga niamboho ahy i e Asia añe rey miharo amy Figelo vaho i Hermogena.
This you know, that all those in Asia have been turned away from me, including Phygellus and Hermogenes.
16 Ehe te ho tretreze’ i Talè o añ’anjomba’ i Onesiforoseo, fa beteke nampanintsiñe ahiko vaho tsy nahameñatse aze o silisilikoo,
May the Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chain;
17 f’ie te Roma le nitsoek’ ahy ampara’ te nioni’e.
rather, when he arrived in Rome he searched diligently for me until he found me
18 Hatolo’ i Talè aze abey ty hahaoniña’e tretrè amy Talè amy andro zay! Ie fohi’o soa o sata maro nitoroña’e ahiko e Efesosy añeo.
(may the Lord grant to him to find mercy from the Lord in that Day); you also know very well in how many ways he served in Ephesus.
