1 Fe nitraoke am’ondatio o mpitoky sare’eo, manahake te ho ama’ areo ao o mpañoke sare’e hanjilike fañòhañe maharotsake añ’ etakeo, ho liere’ iareo i Talè nivily iareoy, toly ndra hivovoan-karotsahañe masìka.
But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you; who will privately introduce destructive sects, denying even the Lord who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction.
2 Le maro ty hañorike o drao-tsivoka’ iareoo, le ho sirikaeñe ty am’ iereo i lalan-katòy,
And many will follow their lewd practices, on account of whom, they way of truth will be evil spoken of.
3 naho amy hatitia’ iareo, ho haramamoe’ iereo an-drehake manigike, fe tsy mihenekeneke i namàrañe iareo haehaey, vaho tsy miroro ty fandrotsahañe iareo.
And through covetousness, they will make merchandise of you, by fictitious tales: to whom the punishment threatened of old lingers not, and their destruction slumbers not.
4 Fa kanao tsy nengan’ Añahare o anjely nandilatseo, le nafetsa’e an-tsikeokeok’ ao, vaho nasese’e an-tsilisily mb’ an-kamoromoroñañe ao handiñe zaka; (Tartaroō )
For God, indeed, did not spare the angels who sinned, but with chains of darkness confining them in Tartarus, delivered them over to be kept for judgment; (Tartaroō )
5 tsy nihevea’e i voatse taoloy fe rinomba’e t’i Noe, ie valo, mpitaron-kavantañañe, le noempoempoe’e i tane-bey tsy aman-Kàkey;
and did not spare the old world, but saved Noah, the eighth, a proclaimer of righteousness, when he brought the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
6 toe nafà’e ho rotsake ka i rova Sodoma naho Gomora rey ie finorototo’e ho lavenoke, ho fañòhañe o ho veloñe tsy aman-Kake mandimbe iareoo;
and having reduced to ashes the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, punished them with an overthrow, making them an example to those who should afterward live ungodly:
7 le rinomba’e t’i Lota vañoñe, ze nembere’ ty halò-tseren-kavelo’ o tsivokatseo
and rescued righteous Lot, exceedingly grieved by the lewd behavior of the lawless:
8 ie nahaisake naho nahajanjiñe o sata’ iareo tsivokatseo handro an-kandro nahalovilovy ty arofo-vaño’ indaty vantañe nimoneñe am’iereoy.
(for; --that righteous man, dwelling among them, by the sight and report of their unlawful deeds, tormented his righteous soul from day to day; )
9 Arofoana’ i Talè ty handrombake o vantañeo amo fitsohañeo vaho hañajà o tsivokatseo ho an-jaka, ho lilovañe,
the Lord knows how to rescue the godly out of temptation, and to reserve the unrighteous to a day of judgment to be punished;
10 mentsake o mampilomolotse i nofotsey ami’ty drao’e tiva malain-ko fehèñeo, ie mijaranjaràñe, manao tsi-nahi’e, vaho tsy mititititike te mañoratse o aman’ engèñeo;
but especially those who go after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and who despise government: being audacious, self-willed, who fear not to revile dignitaries;
11 fe ndra o anjelio, ie milikoatse an-kaozarañe naho hafatrarañe, tsy manisý iareo an-jaka añatrefa’ i Talè.
whereas, angels, who are greater in strength and power, do not bring a reviling accusation against them before the Lord.
12 F’ iretia, le hoe biby tsy mahatsakore, naterake ho tsepaheñe naho lentàñe, miteratera o amoea’ iareoo, ho mongoreñe ami’ty fandrotsahañ’ iareo,
But these, as natural, irrational animals, made for capture and destruction, speaking evil of matters which they do not understand, shall be utterly destroyed by their own corruptions;
13 ho valèm-boiñe mañeva ty hatsivokara’e. Tea’ iareo ty miagarègañe antoandro. Hàndra naho pepo, mitsotsefotse ami’ty famañahia’ iareo te mitrao-pikama ama’areo.
receiving the due reward of unrighteousness. These delight to spend the day in luxurious festivity: they are spots and blemishes, reveling in their deceits when they feast with you;
14 Ama-maso pea hakarapiloañe, le lia’e tsy etsa-pandilarañe; mpampandifike o maletroletroo, an-troke naòke am-patitia-mena, anake nafàtse!
having eyes full of the adulteress, incessantly sinning, alluring unstable souls; having a heart exercised with insatiable desires; an accursed progeny:
15 Nado’ iereo i lalañe mahitiy, nitsile mb’an-dala’ i Balama ana’ i Beora mpitea ty tamben-katsivokarañe
having forsaken the right path, they have wandered, following in the way of Balaam, the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of iniquity,
16 F’ie nendahañe ty amy fandilara’ey, naho nivolañe am-peo’ ondaty i borìke moañey hanebañe ty hadagòla’ i mpitokiy.
and was convicted of his transgression; the dumb brute, speaking with man's voice, reprimanded the madness of the prophet.
17 Lohan-drano maike iereo, mika aronjen-tio-bey, nañajàñe añ’ieñe mimoromoroñe tsy modo. ()
These are wells without water, clouds driven by a tempest; for whom the blackness of darkness is reserved forever:
18 Ie mivolan-kòak’ an-tsenge, misarike iareo an-drao-rati’ o nofotseo naho am-pañiriañe lo, o didý tsy nahabotitsike amo mañavelo an-tahiñeoo,
for, speaking great swelling words of falsehood, they allure by the lusts of the flesh, even by lasciviousness, those who have actually fled away from them who are living in error.
19 mampitamà fierañerañañe, te mone ondevon-katsivokarañe, amy te ondevoze’ ty mamahotse aze t’indaty
They promise them liberty, whilst they themselves are slaves of corruption: for every one is enslaved by that which overcomes him.
20 Aa ie nihaha amo haloloa’ ty voatse toio ami’ty faharendrehañe i Talè Iesoà naho Mpandrombake Norizañey, naho mbe mifehefehe amy rezay indraike vaho mivahotse ao, le lombolombo’ i tam-balòha’ey ty haloloañe henane zay.
Now, if, having fled away from the pollutions of the world, through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and being again entangled, they are overcome by them; their last condition is worse than the first.
21 Ho nisoa t’ie tsy naharendreke i lalan-kavañonañey, ta te nanjo vaho niamboho i lily masiñe natolotsey.
Therefore, it has been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, turn away from the holy commandment delivered to them.
22 Toe ho a iareo ty oha-drehake manao ty hoe. Mimpoly ami’ty loa’e ty amboa naho mb’am-pilomolorañe am-potak’ ao i renen-dambo sinasay.
But the saying of the true proverb has happened to them: "The dog is returned to his own vomit; and the washed hog, to its wallowing in the mire."
